Posted August 11, 2014 (edited) This is a kind of choose your own adventure style story, however each option has a story like event. It may be in the wrong section, please move mods if it is. Also, this may not gain any unterest, but worth a try. +++ Safari Zones in the Games are preserved wildlife parks for Pokémon. They allow trains to catch the creatures without actually battling. This thread, always you to become a trainer. You may choose only one Pokémon to come with you. The Pokémon may be any kind, legendary or normal. What kind of Pokémon appear depends on the kind of Pokémon you take with you. You have 30 energy points to spend. Once you enter the Safari Zone, you will encounter your first Pokémon. There you may choose to run away or fight it. Both cost a number of points. These points may also be spent on what direction you choose to head to, how to get there, using and buying items and more. Your chosen Pokémon has a total of 30 energy points as well. These are spent on what move your Pokémon makes. Your Pokémon doesn't have the limit of four moves, any move that it can do it can do. Your Pokémon also has 100 HP, regardless of what kind it is. Yes, a Hoppip has 100 HP, crazy right? The journey is over once your Pokémon is defeated or either one of you run out of energy. There is also a store you may buy from before you enter. +++ The Store: You may only take three items into the Safari at once. Energy points are exchanged for items here. You must have three different items, you cannot double up or triple up on an item. One point items: - Oran Berry: Heals 10 HP - Lum Berry: Cured any status conditions - Leppa Berry: Restores 3 Energy Points - Potion: Restores 10 HP Three point items: - Energy Powder: Restores 5 Energy Points - Bitter Root: Heals 30 HP - Super Potion: Restores 30 HP - Poké Doll: Escapes a battle when you can't run away. - Berry Juice: Heals 30 HP Five point items: - Hyper Potion: Restores 50 HP - Ether: Restores 7 Energy Points Ten point items: - Elixer: Restores 13 Energy Point +++ Rules: No swearing No OP moves, I will tell you if you can't do that move Please don't get upset. This is a game. You may start again once you have finished, however I ask you to wait before trying again, to allow others a chance. I am able to reject you from entering the Safari Once your Pokémon faints, it faints. Once you run out of energy, you're out. No exceptions. You may only bring in one Pokémon from your party. However if you have caught a Pokémon from the Zone and wish to use it in battle, you may. But remember, it will still act wild and may not listen to you. That Pokémon that has been switched into the battle has the same amount of energy and HP it had when it was captured. The amount of energy points that a move uses are depending on its power. 1-79 attack power uses 1 energy point. 80-99 attack power uses 2 energy points. 100+ attack power uses 3 energy points. Multi-hit moves take 3 energy points, regardless of attack power. +++ To enter the Safari, make sure to post this in the thread. Posted August 11, 2014 This looks neat. However, how much HP does a Pokemon have? I don't think it would be fair if different Pokemon had different HP, as then everyone would choose the same, high HP Pokemon. Can I suggest each Pokemon having 100 HP? Other than that I think I might join. Share this post Link to post

Can you also add in the extra line in the form that I just added? @Melomancer, fill in the code box. Share this post Link to post

Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) OK! All added, the Safari is closed to any new trainers wishing to join for now. Melomancer, you may still join. I will begin the adventures now. @KoalaNoob yes you may start again, but with a whole new Pokémon and items. Sort of like once you have finished your adventure, you are able to start again but with a new beginning. But I would like it if you do start again that you wait a while. Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) Sorry for the double post. Also sorry for lack of description, its my first time actually doing this. (Its kinda daunting. ^^) +++ Psycho Cat entered the Safari Zone as soon as the ranger unlocked the door. She stepped onto the hard packed earth beneath her boots. Once the ranger shut the door and was locked, Psycho Cat released her Liloone from its Pokéball. Tanuki was obviously excited to roam the Safari Zone. He never liked the tall buildings and the filthy smell of the roads beneath his paws. "Where should we go?" Psycho Cat asked the ranger, who peered at her from under her large hat. The ranger's eyes seemed to be like a cat's, emitting a tiny green glow from the shadows and slitted like a feline's. "Your choice," the ranger spoke, her voice soft. Psycho Cat watched the other human strangely for a moment before turning to the open area. "Let's see if we can find any Pokémon here, Tanuki!" She decided, before jogging forward a few steps. The Liloone raced forward in large leaps, his long claws digging into the earth. He easily overtook his trainer, who began to sprint forward. Psycho had changed the layout of the Safari Zone before she entered it. She knew she would get a great range of Pokémon if she started out in the Plains. As the two raced each other, darting between the tall, fresh grass with the sun shining brightly overhead. All of a sudden Tanuki gave a strange bark and yap before abruptly stopping. Psycho Cat halted beside her Pokémon so suddenly she almost met the ground with her face. As the Pokémon and Trainers— the ranger was standing further back —waited for anything, a strange sound came from the grass. It was like something popped, but was more airy. Like a whoomph. The strong acid smell of smoke hit Psycho's nose as she saw the grass in front of her go up in flames. It was first a spark, but as soon as it touched a blade of grass, it became a wildfire. It engulfed the grass in front of them quickly, and was spreading. A large bark split the air as two Growlithe leaped out from the flames. One of them was larger than the other, bent down in a charge position, however the other one looked poised to leap onto the Liloone. Psycho fanned away the smoke that threatened to choke her, as her mind began to race for the options. Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) "Tanuki, dig attack!" Psycho ordered to her Pokémon, pointing to the smaller Growlithe. The Liloone began to scrape at the earth below it, before disappearing into the dirt. The two wild Pokémon stood still, confused on where the Liloone disappeared to. The second, smaller Growlithe barked before lowering its head to sniff the ground. As soon as the Pokémon bent down to sniff, Tanuki erupted from the earth. As Tanuki attacked the Growlithe with a flurry of claws. The second Growlithe was momentarily stunned, before leaping to attack Tanuki, who had pinned the Growlithe down to the ground. Psycho winced as she braced for the painful attack on her own Pokémon. However it never landed. A loud cry from an unseen blur as the larger Growlithe was tackled by two large talons. The trainer whipped around to see the Ranger and an opened Pokéball in her hand. "Its a double battle, right?" She smirked. Psycho grit her teeth and nodded tensely. "Right." The blur moved upwards quickly, before revealing itself to be a large Braviary, talons extended. It gave a loud call, before preparing for the next attack. +++ VS +++ Psycho Cat's Energy: [21/30] Tanuki's HP: [100/100] Tanuki's Energy: [28/30] Growlithe 1's HP: [89/100] Growlithe 2's HP: [100/100] +++ +++ Run Away - 2 Energy Points from Psycho and Tanuki. Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) KoalaNoob entered the Safari Zone with a buzz of excitement. It was finally her chance to catch some new Pokémon! Her Greninja, Frosch stand patiently in front of her, before disappearing swiftly. As the ranger locked the gates again, Koala faced the large disk of shimmering silver. The lake. The ground was spongy under their steps, only Frosch's speed never seem to be affected by it. Koala glanced around the Safari Zone, amazed about how safe and.... innocent it looked to her. The water Pokémon continued to shift forward before pausing by the lake. Koala jogged up to catch up with Frosch, before examining the clear water in front of her. There wasn't any movement in the water, or on the surface. Only in the deeper parts of the water, the orange scales of Magicarp were darting around. Small insects buzzed around their heads as Koala tried to swat them away. As a shadow moved in the water, it grabbed Koala's attention immediately, but then she relaxed. Having humans near a Pokémon's habitat was basically an invitation for wild Pokémon. The shadow poked its head out of the water, to reveal itself to be a Slowbro. It gave a bark before moving out of the water, completely. Frosch appeared beside his trainer, his eyes unblinking as the Pokémon stood up on its hind legs. Then, without any notice, a hard stream of water eruoted from the Slowbro's mouth and hit Frosch, forcing the Pokémon back a few feet. Koala watched her Pokémon get hit, before facing the Slowbro. The sudden attack on Frosch was a sign that it wanted to battle, even if the Water Gun attack wasn't strong. +++ VS +++ KoalaNoob's Energy: [21/30] Frosch's HP: [98/100] Frosch's Energy: [30/30] +++ +++ Run Away - 2 Energy Points from Koala and Frosch. Posted August 15, 2014 Koala grins at the encounter. It was really good luck that her first enemy Pokemon was a Slowbro, it wouldn't be able to do a thing to Frosch thanks to its Psychic/Water typing. On the other hand, a couple Dark Pulses should bring it down to pretty low HP, since the sluggish pink Pokemon was physically defensive and weak to dark, a Greninja's naturally high Sp. Atk and Protean only added to this. Becoming dark type would remove the water resistance, but Slowbro weren't hard hitters anyway, and with such a large speed difference, Frosch could easily change type before another attack landed. It was a frail attacker though, so that would be a slight danger. Confidently, she orders her Pokemon to use Dark Pulse. Posted August 16, 2014 ((I think that's a neat idea, KN. Since Surf is multi hit though, I'm giving it 3, even if it will shorten poor Tanuki's lifespan.)) Battle - Surf - 3 Energy Points +++ Psycho Cat realized that even with the new help, this would not be easy. The smaller Growlithe's ability to sponge Tanuki's super effective Dig told her these were some tough puppies. To keep up with them she'd have to hit hard and efficiently. Surf seemed to be the best attack for such a situation, but then she remembered that Surf was a field move that would also hit her newfound ally. Psycho's mind raced with options, but nothing stood out as good as Surf. Reluctantly, she made a gesture with her hand to Tanuki, ordering him to use Surf. For a second he seemed unsure himself, darting his eyes at the avian Pokemon for a moment, but then nodded and prepared to attack. She only hoped that bird had the skill to get out of the way in time. +++ Psycho Cat's Energy: [21/30] Tanuki's HP: [100/100] Tanuki's Energy: [25/30] +++ Share this post Link to post

Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) Tanuki began creating the rush of water behind him with another reluctant glance to Psycho, the Ranger and the Braviary. He began to ride the wave when it reached a good size. The Ranger shouted some words, the only words audible was the name, Valiance. As the wave grew to a large size, the Braviary pulled his body back, his wings giving powerful swoops to avoid the rush of water growing. The two Growlithes were paralyzed in fear, a clear expression of panic on their faces. As the wave finally grew to its largest size, the larger one snapped out of the daze and shoved his partner, trying to escape. They were too late to react, as the water came rushing down in a sudden wave. With Tanuki riding the wave and Valiance up in the air, the water swamped the ground in a good area, leaving the two Growlithes water soaked and heavily damaged. The Braviary landed softly on the ground next to Tanuki, who was scanning the two enemies that were struggling to stand. The ground below foot was now marshy and hard to walk on, as the two Growlithes soon found out. However they soon recovered quickly, even if their health was extremely low. The smaller Growlithe poised itself on the mud, their muscles tensed for battle. The larger Growlithe snarled, teeth bared as fire began to coat the fangs. Then in a sudden movement, the smaller canine Pokemon leaped towards Valiance. The Braviary opened his wings to take off, but was too late as the Pokemon slammed itself onto the bird. As the Pokemon leaped onto the bird, the other Growlithe pounced onto Tanuki. Baring its fangs, the Growlithe bit down on the Liloone. Tanuki yelped and shoved the Growlithe off him, but he was already injured. Along his flank was a large bite mark, along with a new burn along his side. +++ VS +++ Psycho Cat's Energy: [21/30] Tanuki's HP: [79/100] [bRN] Tanuki's Energy: [25/30] Valiance's HP: [88/100] Growlithe 1's HP: [43/100] Growlithe 2's HP: [47/100] +++ +++ Run Away - 2 Energy Points from Psycho and Tanuki. Posted November 30, 2014 ((Thanks for the suggestion! I added that to the first post. Melomancer, you're added. I'll have to write the beginning posts for the others later, this is all I could manage for now.)) As soon as KoalaNoob gave the order, the Greninja began the attack. Frosch opened his arms to his sides as the dark energy began to form two circles of pure dark magic in his palms. As soon as the mass of magic became large and started pulsing with power, the Greninja threw his arms together as a beam of purple and black shot out of the joined spheres of dark power. The beam flew through the air and shot the Slowbro square in the chest. The water and psychic Pokemon was thrown into the water from the force. After a few moments, the Pokemon lumbered out of the water and seemed to lazily sit down in the middle of the battle. However before any one, human or Pokemon could react, the Slowbro lifted itself onto its hindlegs before slamming its front legs into the ground. As soon as they slammed into the ground, visible shock waves were sent through the ground. The waves were sent towards Frosch who without any order from KoalaNoob, jumping into the air to dodge the shock waves. However as the Greninja was preparing to land on the ground, the Slowbro slammed its paws into the ground again, sending a second, weaker mass of shockwaves. As Frosch landed, the waves slammed into the Greninja, sending him to the ground. As soon as the waves were gone, the Greninja recovered to his feet, his eyes narrowed furiously. The Slowbro had caught him off guard, and had damaged the Pokemon. +++ VS +++ KoalaNoob's Energy: [21/30] Frosch's HP: [74/100] Frosch's Energy: [28/30] Slowbro's HP: [56/100] +++ +++ Run Away - 2 Energy Points from Koala and Frosch.
