Posted July 26, 2010 (edited) Yes you did alright. Thats a lot of gold and vampires btw Thanks Siryuki! Wasn't sure if I was doing it right. Glad to hear I was. Yeah....lots of golds, 50 was my scroll goal until I decided to do two naming themes with Led Zeppelin songs....they sort of just grew from there. I didn't realize I had as many vamps as I do....I bite when bored. Edited July 26, 2010 by ceeceeblack Share this post Link to post

Alright, so the rules of the DC records is that a person needs 20 adult dragons to qualify for the record. Since you have just the 2, then unfortunately you can't be named for the record. As for the speckled dragons, they're the Bright Breasted Wyverns. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 27, 2010 Category: Breeders Title of Record: Breeder with the most Ungendered Dragons Name of Submitant: Wolf Wings Proof for Record: Egg Drop Soup and My Scroll Not sure if frozen hatchlings count or not but with them, i have 212. Ungendered Adults, however, number 21 according to Egg Drop Soup and my scroll. Either way, i can take the spot until someone with more ousts me. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 27, 2010 Hey Wolf, to answer your question Frozen hatchings don't count. Since they could eventually gender. But since you have 21 I'm sure you will get the record. Share this post Link to post

Posted July 27, 2010 Sorry for bringing up the CB "Problem". I didn't realise the amount of work that is involved with it at the moment I posted. I truely understand that you don't like to klick through every dragon on other's scrolls. I'm thinking of a scripted solution for that ... but it's a bit hard to match every aspect of a possible record. It should be quite easy to write a script that counts dragons of a special kind ... hmmm ... just some loud thinking I'll tell if I did something usefull and when I find some time to write it. Just like the Tools-Section on Egg Drop Soup, but a bit ... more. Don't expect too much ... as I said, just some loud thinking so far. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) Well ... not so bad for a quick shot @Ethril Dragon: I hope you don't mind, that I took your scroll for a quick test of a first version of the script. I read your name quite often here in this thread. If you want me to remove the result, just send me a short PM, and I'll edit my post. So, could this be right? I let the script look over your scroll and especially after Pygmy dragons: > ./count "Ethril Dragon" "Pygmy dragons" All dragons: 338 Adults: 305 Adults F: 152 Adults M: 148 Adults U: 5 Hatchlings: 33 Hatchlings F: 5 Hatchlings M: 6 Hatchlings U: 22 ------------------------------------ Pygmy dragons: 72 Cave born: 33 Adult females: 35 Adult males: 37 So ... any interest in the script? Then I would develop it further and transform it into a small webpage. And now ... I'll get some sleep .oO(zzzzZZZZzzz) Kapa Edited July 28, 2010 by Kapanikos Share this post Link to post

Posted July 28, 2010 Kapanikos I'm loving your script too. For this topic, it's interesting to see what the makeup of the claimed record is. I would also love it on a site for my own scroll organizing. Share this post Link to post

Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) @Siryuki: Are you sure about your White dragon record? Script says: All dragons: 385 All females: 196 All males: 184 All ungendered: 5 Adults: 382 Adults female: 196 Adults male: 183 Adults ungendered: 3 Hatchlings: 3 unfrozen: 0 Hatchlings female: 0 Hatchlings male: 1 Hatchlings ungendered: 2 Eggs: 1 ------------------------------------ White dragons: 242 Cave born: 26 Adult females: 131 Adult males: 111 In the record table, there's only 150. And *sorry* your scroll is horrible to count in that unsorted manner So I don't like to check manually, if my script works correct. I hope you understand And I must say, I've never seen a scroll of that size with no frozen hatchies. Another record? For the script itself. Here you can see, what the script counts so far. It works like this (For the technically uninterested, skip to last paragraph ) I start the script with two parameters: 1. name of the scroll to check 2. special dragon type to count (the 4 numbers specific to the dragon type, shown after the line up there) If I start it only with the name of a scroll it just makes some general counts (shown above the line), but that's nothing new, the tools at Egg Drop Soup do that already (some of you already use their statistics banner). Do you have any further ideas, that I could include in the script to help this records thread? What else could we count? (I think I get myself renamed to Count von Count of Sesamestreet ) The breeds themselves are quite easy to do, except black/alt blacks and dark green/alt dark green dragons. These are treated as one and the same. The script works text based and unluckily the alts and the standards of their kind have the same description. I'm not sure if I can find a workaround for that problem. A picture recognition would be too hard to implement. And after all that, there's the conversion to a webbased version. So far it's a shellscript for Linux only. And so far ... just a quick hack. At the moment the script runs about 4-5 minutes on a scroll with 300-400 dragons. It fetches the main scroll, and then every single dragon, as if you klick every single dragon on the whole scroll and wait for it to load. I guess we all know, that this takes some time. I also implemented an option to reuse the downloaded files, to do another search. This time it takes only 1 to 2 seconds. So ... if you have further ideas of what to count, please tell me. Should I implement counting views and clicks? Counting dragons with the same naming theme would be very ... errr ... special. If that happens often, I could write an extra script. It shouldn't be hard to do, it just is a quite different thing, compared to what I have so far. Kapa Edit: Ups ... that was quite some text Edited July 28, 2010 by Kapanikos Share this post Link to post
Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) I've got 606 dragons, with 10 unnamed so I got 596 with the same naming scheme - Atonia. Posted July 28, 2010 Category: Dragons – Lineage Title of Record: Non-gold dragon with most golds in lineage (Sundira – Magi – 13) Name of Submitant: KaidaClaw Proof for Record: http://dragcave.net/lineage/PjtB Reason for submitting new Record: Because I saw the Christmas dragon lineage record, and happened to notice that my Magi had a lot of golds in her lineage. Not sure if this would count as a record, but I thought I might post it anyway BTW, she is non-inbred, so there are no repeats of any gold. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 28, 2010 Does anyone think it'd be an issue if I wrote a script to calculate a bunch of records and used it to post in here from time to time? My main concern is whether or not people would want their scroll submitted without their permission. Share this post Link to post

Posted July 28, 2010 It'd be quite a few users (Most dragons per breed, CB's per breed, bred dragons per breed, frozen hatchlings per breed, etc) and not all of them are on the forums. Share this post Link to post
