Posted November 28, 2010 I claim your souls. Don't have one and never had one, sorry. Come back the next week or contact someone else. Hmm... And yes, we don't have the ability to give babies bear arms yet. Genetically very compromised and I doubt a chimera of this kind could remain functional and not reject the additional/non-original body parts. (Is lithium taken?) Share this post Link to post
Posted November 28, 2010 Just saying, since in the DNA thread there was talk about how scientists could modify embryos, but human rights peoples would most likely protest their birth. This way, the baby should have a right to them. Just meant to be a joke, is all. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 5, 2010 Color Survey It's a subject that I haven't seen brought up in this thread yet, but I'm doing a science project on color perception. I figured I'd post it here, since it's kinda relevant, and try to get some results :3 Oh, and did you hear about the arsenic-based microbes? Those things are made of awesome. And as it turns out, I know the scientist who discovered them She's a friend of my dad's. Share this post Link to post

Posted December 7, 2010 What if American scientists tested the law and modified a human embryo to have bear arms? If only. :c I'd rather have tentacles personally. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 7, 2010 http://newslite.tv/2010/12/06/doctor-whos-...crewdriver.html EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE See there's one part about that that worries me By operating waves at frequencies beyond the realms of human hearing It's normally claimed that those cat scarer things operate at sonic frequencies beyon the range of human hearing - yet I *can* hear them, and the sound hurts. The idea of someone using a screwdriver when a) I am the only person that can hear it and said noise in actively painful is not a good one for me. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 7, 2010 http://newslite.tv/2010/12/06/doctor-whos-...crewdriver.html EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Ha! I'm only a newbie barely-introduced Doctor Who fan, but I still find that awesomesauce. ^.^ I am with TikindiDragon on the actually hearing it thing being a potential concern, though. Plus, whether it will drive pets nuts. That could be... possibly a very big drawback. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 7, 2010 True, 'tis a downside. Still, the idea of them being able to make one is pretty cool. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 7, 2010 True, 'tis a downside. Still, the idea of them being able to make one is pretty cool. Very. But man, the sound effect they use for it on the show alone is almost painful, I'd scream if someone used it near me. -is yet another person with sensitive ears- Share this post Link to post

And I heard about the arsenic based microbes, totally awesome and blows away like everything we previously knew. Posted December 10, 2010 SPACE CHEESE. Thank you, rocket science! I, for one, welcome my new space cheese overlord. The best thing about SCIENCE! is that it spawns such epic win. Such as: Which is totally on my mp3 player. Do not judge my geekiness. Share this post Link to post

Posted December 11, 2010 Ha, saw that earlier and posted it in IRC. Interesting indeed. I see that there are controls on the arm, though - does it require operation using the good arm? If so, seems kinda... pointless. Besides the cool factor. Share this post Link to post

Posted December 18, 2010 (edited) This was a triumph. I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS. It's hard to overstate my satisfaction. Aperture Science We do what we must because we can. For the good of all of us. Except the ones who are dead. But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake. And the Science gets done. And you make a neat gun. For the people who are still alive. I'm not even angry. I'm being so sincere right now. Even though you broke my heart. And killed me. And tore me to pieces. And threw every piece into a fire. As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you! Now these points of data make a beautiful line. And we're out of beta. We're releasing on time. So I'm GLaD. I got burned. Think of all the things we learned for the people who are still alive. Go ahead and leave me. I think I prefer to stay inside. Maybe you'll find someone else to help you. Maybe Black Mesa THAT WAS A JOKE. HAHA. FAT CHANCE. Anyway, this cake is great. It's so delicious and moist. Look at me still talking when there's Science to do. When I look out there, it makes me GLaD I'm not you. I've experiments to run. There is research to be done. On the people who are still alive. And believe me I am still alive. I'm doing Science and I'm still alive. I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive. While you're dying I'll be still alive. And when you're dead I will be still alive. STILL ALIVE it had to be done but i FREAKING LOVE ASTROLOGY Edited December 18, 2010 by penguin_adu6oo Share this post Link to post
Posted December 18, 2010 it had to be done but i FREAKING LOVE ASTROLOGY I don't think that astrology is (or that it should be) classed as a science in my opinion. Having done a few astronomy based subjects nothing annoyed me more than people mistaking it for astrology and I'm sure professional astronomers would hate it happening to.
