Posted March 18, 2013 I love naming my dragons after their parents, grand-parents etc. Sometimes it's tricky, especially if I don't get the parents' names references >.<, but a lot of times it's really fun and occasionally the names just pop right into my head. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 18, 2013 I now have a hard time naming Cb dragons because I'm so used to naming dragons after their parents. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 18, 2013 I specially name the dragons after their parents with the Black ones. It's because I ran out of ideas for their names. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 19, 2013 I have a beauty right here. I am actually the 3rd person to have a dragon from this line, my friend got the 2nd gen egg with parents named that, and continued on, then passed it to me haha. The hatchling is named this because I have a mate for her already, 'I AM A PERN DRAGON NAMED IHHKATH' because the naming theme on my scroll is their code turned into a name and then -th added. Posted March 25, 2013 Of course the names "Royal Who" and "John Who" were taken, but then I found the perfect name for this cool AP find. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 26, 2013 This one was enormously fun to name because of the themes that had been flowing through the parents' names already. Hopefully the breeder is pleased with my naming choice! Share this post Link to post
Posted March 26, 2013 I named one I caught http://dragcave.net/lineage/6Oik4 Share this post Link to post

Posted March 30, 2013 (edited) By now I'm trying to name all of the dragons that I really like by one of their parents and if they don't have names or ones that are usable I take the grandparents. It's fun and I kind of think of it as a tradition to my dragons. example: Savran His mother got her first name from her grandmother Edited March 30, 2013 by Silverwoulf Share this post Link to post
Posted April 2, 2013 I went through some of my Tinsels' offspring earlier and caught a bunch of babies the owners of which had incorporated my scroll-surname and/or the parents names http://dragcave.net/lineage/RKjaT http://dragcave.net/lineage/HSbSt - and such a pretty name, too http://dragcave.net/lineage/AH5RW http://dragcave.net/lineage/qJ2se http://dragcave.net/lineage/u5LZ3 Share this post Link to post
Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) This dragon is NOT named after it's parents... it's just hilarious.. http://dragcave.net/lineage/pHWcA http://dragcave.net/lineage/RCshJ Named after Keep Your Shine On aha Named after his momma! My Atrum Mortis http://dragcave.net/lineage/gj9oH I enjoy the fact that most people kept the Burning in the offspring! http://dragcave.net/progeny/4UdQC Edited April 3, 2013 by IcarusTheDragon Share this post Link to post
Posted April 3, 2013 This has not happened to me yet but I did just name my first female dragon Andrea the 1st. Andrea for the walking dead character who recently died on the show. Share this post Link to post
Posted April 3, 2013 This dragon is NOT named after it's parents... it's just hilarious.. http://dragcave.net/lineage/pHWcA I have a relative of that one, named after her parents. Bones of Rooks. I also have one descended from some of your dragons, and named to continue the awesome Coheed & Cambria theme. Tender Heart Liberties Share this post Link to post
Posted April 3, 2013 Hmm, Tender Heart Liberties has two ancestors with the surname of Kyriakos. I've got one descended from two dragons of the same surname. http://dragcave.net/lineage/sdnKN I have a tendency to adopt the naming schemes of the people that bred any eggs that fall into my possession. Here's one: http://dragcave.net/lineage/l2eUc I'll post more when I find them. Share this post Link to post
Posted April 3, 2013 Things like this are why I love dumping my silly things to the AP. Share this post Link to post
Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) My first 4 dragons all have names now. 3 of the 4 have a mix of Russian and the dragon language from Skyrim in their names. I will probably make this a continuing thing for their future relatives. Now all 4 eggs I have are also close to hatching now. Edited April 3, 2013 by DarkWaters Share this post Link to post
Posted April 9, 2013 With the combined names of "For As Much As I Love You" "I Can Truly Do Without You", I was asking for some of these names http://dragcave.net/progeny/4asMN leave me alone orange Broken Truth You Tell Him Ma Share this post Link to post
Posted April 10, 2013 I found this from my Moonstone Jayfeather: http://dragcave.net/lineage/aDLfq Not named after his father par se, but continuing the theme. And this Gold: http://dragcave.net/lineage/T6ykh Share this post Link to post
Posted April 10, 2013 (edited) I carried on the names from part of this line, and then the next owner kept the names going. Edited April 10, 2013 by LibbyLishly Share this post Link to post
Posted April 12, 2013 http://dragcave.net/lineage/8tWVl The ET3 scrollname is mine, representative of the rank I earned while in the Navy. I like it, though, when someone carries it on in offspring. Meanwhile...there is no eighth vowel in English, is there? Share this post Link to post
Posted April 13, 2013 This guy here is the reason I even name my dragons. http://dragcave.net/lineage/pscfp Bred years ago, I never even though it'd be one that made my day. I myself was just a newbie. He was one of the 1st 3 dragons on the owners scroll. He has a description, is described as a clan leader, and has a starring role in the user's DC fanfiction. *faints* Share this post Link to post
Posted April 13, 2013 I don't always, but lately have been trying to follow lineage conventions, but I thought maybe I ought not to in case the owner of the parents wanted to keep the options open for their own offspring. (I only read the first four pages and page 51 (currently the last page) of this thread, but what I read so far seems that people don't mind other people appropriating their linage names... And I apologize in advance if the link doesn't work - but I'll try - Kiradotter lineage - I'm particularly proud of that naming that I did - though, granted, it looks odd for it to be a male two-headed with the surname of 'Kiradotter'....
