Posted December 17, 2012 http://dragcave.net/progeny/nlQW I own the first one but the other two are pretty amusing. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 24, 2012 This is what I hope for when I breed a dragon with a cool name. I salute you, owner of that little Holly there on the bottom. You made this breeding season worthwhile for me. Share this post Link to post

Posted December 24, 2012 I just saw this guy... Only the bottom CB pair are mine but they continued the grandpa's name into the 3rd generation. I'm blushing Share this post Link to post
Posted January 14, 2013 Didn't expect this dorsal to be named after her parents! I figured whoever picked it up would just be a kind soul - I think it's fairly obvious that the poor little thing was a red fail. But to find that she was named (<3) and even after her parents (<3!) is awesome. This seems like an appropriately named dragon to necro this thread with, actually. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 15, 2013 It's rather disappointing that none of my dragons' offspring have ever been named after their parents (not counting those bred for people in the Brony Lineage). Most eggs from my scroll end up going to people who don't name them. Maybe I should start gifting eggs on threads and requesting that they be named, rather than just dropping to the AP like I usually do. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 15, 2013 I lol'd when I noticed this name on one of my dragon's offspring. Quite appropriate . http://dragcave.net/lineage/ggFWB Share this post Link to post
Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) Though I've not given many bred eggs out(as I have only a few pairs) I really love it when people name their eggs after their parents in some way. Whether it be color, or combinations of names, themes etc. all fun^^ I myself when gifted an egg, or I pick one up from a departure thread on rare occasions I always name and always try to stick with the theme of the dragons/dragons parents in someway. Though I do worry at times the owners of the orginal pair(s) may not like the names heh Short version: Naming is fun both when it's your own offspring that somone has and when you have somone else's offspring. edit:@TheGrox: That name both amuses me and gives me horrible nightmarish flashbacks of those movies Edited January 15, 2013 by Erithan Share this post Link to post
Posted January 15, 2013 I rarely name dragons with their parents in mind, but I do have a Jared Coastalwaverson, Max Beljoson, and White Dress. I'm always pleased when the new owner names a dragon after one or more parents, though. Posted January 16, 2013 I found her on the AP, and kept it going with her daughter, and have two more names held for the next two gens. Time to bloodswap! Share this post Link to post
Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) Checked in on the first offspring of my 'Good Omens' pair, not too sure if the dragon was named for her parents, but I'm pretty sure she was!!! http://dragcave.net/lineage/UcmCH Edited January 16, 2013 by Draco Knight Share this post Link to post
Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) Being gifted a split egg sired by Hack and Slash and Smash and Grab, once my egg slot opens up in a few hours. Going to name is Slash and Smash. That's hilarious, prpl. Edited January 16, 2013 by MinervaClay Share this post Link to post
Posted January 16, 2013 Ooh, I'm glad to see topics like this! I try to follow naming patterns on the eggs I pick up. Though I worry sometimes that I'm going to interfere with naming patterns or owner patterns and upset the owners of said dragons. So sometimes I tweak a bit. http://dragcave.net/lineage/bsmWs Like so. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 16, 2013 My boyfriend refused to name his dragons after their parents, that I bred. Grr! Share this post Link to post
Posted January 17, 2013 I've been trying to get all of my dragons named. I never used to even look at lineages, so a lot of mine have random names. Now, though, I want to get my naming device out of there (Instead of "Ghost's [Name]" for everything), so new dragons have been named after their parents as much as possible. It's fun to see what combinations I can come up with. I'm probably proudest of this Holly (whose name is also a pun!) I'm also fond of this one (the Beaufort scale is how gales are measured). And then we have these: http://dragcave.net/lineage/FgGBV http://dragcave.net/lineage/AmXgA http://dragcave.net/lineage/ZJAfE http://dragcave.net/lineage/rlhg6 http://dragcave.net/lineage/OHpua http://dragcave.net/lineage/iU888 http://dragcave.net/lineage/KPkES http://dragcave.net/lineage/hAHnT http://dragcave.net/lineage/YLPrG http://dragcave.net/lineage/UpppI http://dragcave.net/lineage/d6Odf There are probably a few others, but I think I need to limit myself a bit. I'll have to look for well-named children of my dragons later. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 23, 2013 I try to do this when I pick up an AP dragon that has a naming scheme. I think it is cool to continue the naming patterns. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 23, 2013 For me it depends, i hardly name after the partnets, sometimes i do,other i name after the gifters . Or just type in something that get accepted. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 24, 2013 I continued a naming pattern with one of the embers I have http://dragcave.net/lineage/o0ilJ Share this post Link to post
Posted February 2, 2013 In one of my Ember lines, I just found Teal'c and Drey'auc have a child not on my scroll, also given a wonderfully appropriate SG name, Prometheus of Aurora, and carried out two more generations, Corvus' Cluster of Aurora and Destiny of Aurora! To the breeder of those descendants, you did a beautiful job! Thank you! Share this post Link to post
Posted February 2, 2013 I continued a naming pattern with one of the embers I have http://dragcave.net/lineage/o0ilJ I hope that the breeder did not want to use that name for themselves one day, as it's their main naming scheme for all PB dragons they do breed every week. Posted February 4, 2013 I'm not sure if this counts, since it's more personal, but I was looking through my dragon's children and found this: http://dragcave.net/lineage/cRGd4 D'aww.. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 4, 2013 It's happened to me 4 times on eggs I've sent to the AP. Twice as a garbled mixture of the parents first names, and once my Clan name was reworked in to a new word for the name. The best was when one of my favourite pairings, a 2nd gen from my CB Black female (Wyrdfell Rapax), my first ever dragon, and my CB Ice was named Deo Rapax using my Clan name. Aw, made me feels so warm and fuzzy inside Share this post Link to post
Posted February 4, 2013 I hope that the breeder did not want to use that name for themselves one day, as it's their main naming scheme for all PB dragons they do breed every week. Affirming this. I have one from their line too. http://dragcave.net/lineage/8B5K3 is theirs. They totally beat me to the name. Which I'm happy about! It didn't occur to me immediately (and it should have) that they were probably going to want to continue that name. This one's an older AP grab of mine: http://dragcave.net/lineage/fnne I love the absolutely silly combination of last names for her. I gifted a Nova a couple of days ago, and was really excited to see that it had been named after its parents, especially as that's very close to the naming pattern that I've been using for my offspring of this pair. http://dragcave.net/lineage/G5RIK Share this post Link to post
