Naming, after parents.

Recommended Posts

Aww, I checked up on a white egg I had left in the AP and saw that the baby was called Little Lion Healer 2 after his parents! So cute, Lion and Little Lamb now have two children who have 'Little Lion' as their name. wub.gif

I was looking around and I saw this, now I kinda wished I had bred a day glory instead of a night glory. I guess the person who got it thought that "majestic morning" was the name scheme (it is just majestic ___), but it was still really sweet! Thank you, whoever you are!

Still looking around and found this and this.

I found this tinsel fail from Cha0s a couple days ago, and I felt this name fits. The reason is, there is a sort of thing called "Discordianism". One of the many odd things about it is that their answer to any, if not all, rhetorical questions is "five tons of flax", hence the name.

Just discovered another. 8'D The grandchild also carries on the father's name which is lovely. <3

My canopy pair has....4 children named after them. The best part was that someone though I named my draogn after the leafeon pokemon and named their Espeon Snap. I was delighted (and shocked when I realized what I had done xd.png).

I find it nice to see people continuing my naming pattern.

Aww! Saltando Zephyr and Trill Zephyr were mine, and look!

http://dragcave.net/lineage/1EK7D <-- It's carried on to a 4th generation!

Also, other lovely name-carrying babies:

http://dragcave.net/lineage/iMXuc

http://dragcave.net/lineage/FRg9m (in its way... I always think this kind of naming is neat, and that maybe the owner wanted to make sure not to take a name I might use one day, so tweaked the surname a little. Maybe?)

http://dragcave.net/lineage/uDIaU (another great naming tweak, keeping both first and last name themes)

http://dragcave.net/lineage/MTgSC (It became a middle name...ish...thing!)

http://dragcave.net/lineage/XcLpZ (Yay, one of my Leap babies!)

http://dragcave.net/lineage/EihCr

http://dragcave.net/lineage/vd9K0

Also, my Gold, Golden Gloom, and his current mate, Song of Sorrow, have two children: Golden Gloom of Sorrow, and Some Sing the Blues. Love it!

I did that with this tinsel fail I picked up in the AP- My Lineage

It's owner didn't seem to have a major naming scheme so I combined the mother and the father's name biggrin.gif

I feel so honored to find that Klytos name was carried on for not just the child of a pair of mine, but for 4 more generations! biggrin.gif

And then there's this dragon from the same pair of mine, adding to that.

Many thanks to the owner(s) and glad you liked the name!

Recently bred these two, who are named after Xigbar and Demyx from Kingdom Hearts, hoping someone would name their offspring after other members of Organization XIII, and they did. They now have a daughter called Xion. biggrin.gif It really made me smile.

Off to drop another egg from the same pair in the hopes it'll happen again!

I do that a lot, name after parents & I've had a few people name the babies after the parents on my scroll.

One of my favorite that I named after the parents was this one I found in the AP: uvP6M I had no idea what to name it, so it got my naming scheme along with the parent's names.

Then there's variation on the parents' names: view/87pXP which I'll sometimes do.

Another example: /view/0LJ4c

This one carried on my naming scheme in an unique way: [view/T9o6i

So did this one: view/tC2E

/view/mf8lA

Not only did someone name one of my dragons' offspring after its parents, but they made a whole lineage out of it!

Epic! I have added that lineage to my bookmarks. :3 (Yes, I have a bookmark folder for interesting lineages. >.>) Do you know who has them? I would love a baby. XD

While not exactly named after my dragon, someone referenced him here. It made me smile. I had half a mind to change his name to 'Daughter I Am Offend'.

Unfortunately, I have no idea who owns them.

I always try naming after the parents, unfortunatelly lots of people don't name their dragons at all and there are almost totally nameless lineages out there.

It happened to me that somebody picked my abandoned egg and later on named the dragon after the parents, it's really nice in my opinion biggrin.gif

I try to make it easier by giving my dragons surnames wink.gif I used to have the "adjective + noun" kind of names, like Velvet Butterfly, for example. Now I think "name + surname" works better for me, it makes tracking the lineage easier biggrin.gif And whoever gets my eggs can use the surname, if they want.

It's also easier to come up with a name if I can name after the parents biggrin.gif

Randomly went looking through my Stripes' offspring and discovered a hilarious gem.

I had bred my stripes Manganese and Jap together, and someone named their child Manly Japanese. I lol'd so hard. High five for creativity.

I always name my AP pickups after their parents (if they HAVE names). It also helps keep things organized because I give all my CB dragons one-word names.

I love it! But I've only stumbled upon this one: http://dragcave.net/lineage/pYVkP

The CB with "Lexxy's" are all mine, the rest I found on the AP or traded for. I bred the pair not realizing I was egg locked (duh... learn to count, Lexxy!) tongue.gif

I was so tickled to see that they kept to the naming scheme!! wub.gif

I usually try to keep "family" names going, if at all possible. But if I don't see a pattern or understand the scheme, I just do my best. I find it fun trying to figure out a perfect name from the lineage.... biggrin.gif
