Ivan Danko (s1 chick)

Ivan Danko is captain in the Russian Cave Department of Internal Chick Affairs, the MCWD, and Moscow Cave's toughest detective. During an attempt to arrest the infamous Black Market Dragon Viktor Rostavili, Viktor killed Danko's partner and escaped to the United Caves, where he was arrested for other crimes by Art Ridzik, Detective-Sergeant of the Chicago Cave Chick Police Department (CCCP).

.

Danko was ordered to escort Viktor back to Moscow Cave, but Viktor managed to escape custody. Despite all cultural differences (crime is organized, police is not), Danko and Ridzik share a common goal - to arrest Viktor and bring him to justice. And to release the tension and and stress - with vodka!

Accept:

Abstain: Very interesting, but I'm not sure if that reference to alcohol there at the end is allowed.

Accept: Abstain: A Moscow chick xd.png. Not sure about vodka...

Abstain: Russia doesn't exist in the DC World.

Accept: Nice Chicken. Accept:

April Eagle (s2 female black hatchling)

April Eagle is the daughter of Commander Eagle, the highest ranking officer of the Cavalry Command. Along with Saber Rider, Fireball and Colt, April serves as a Star Sheriff. Star Sheriffs uphold the law in the "New Frontier", an area of remote caves. Lately, the New Frontier has been targeted by attacks of the Outriders, mischievous creatures under the leadership of Nemesis, dark entity and Overlord of the Phantom Zone.

.

April constructed an attack carriage which proves to be very helpful in the struggle to fend off the Outriders. April enhanced the fighting capability of a regular carriage by attaching an iron rod to the vessel, enabling the carriage to ram Outrider vehicles, destroying them in the process. The enhancement proved to be so successful that the carriage was nicknamed after it - it is called "Ramrod".

Lurking this thread made me long ago go on a writing spreed. Now I've described a couple more dragons to get through a terrible writer's block I'm currently having.

Shaimoon.

A violent snow storm was hitting the large mountain range at DNH's Dragon Reserve but Shai didn't seem to mind it. Like a river, he rippled through the winds and snowflakes, cutting through them like an eel. As he was flying dangerously across the spiky stones and treacherous ice along the cannon, he saw something. A human and two dragons, lost and about to freeze to death. The girl was trying to move one of the bright breasted wyverns, but he seemed to have given up. Shai doubted for a moment, he was elusive and mysterious, since most of his specie had been hunted nearly to extinction in past ages, but he couldn't just let those three die. After making up his mind, the silver dragon descended and surrounded the trio with his body, conjuring a magic shield to keep them warm. The girl looked up, and her eyes shone with wonder.

"I thought you were a legend" she whispered weakly.

"We are." he responded gently into her mind, a silent plead to never reveal their existence to anyone.

I'm really not too happy about that one, but the space was very limited for what I wanted to tell. tongue.gif

Pisces Vela.

"Pisces or Vela Vela or Pisces" Thought the young nebula dragon, unable to decide which constellation was the most adequate to show in her wings. She kept her eyes fixed on the sky, studying the patterns carefully and thoughtfully. Pisces was magnificent, elegant and tidy, an intense blue spiral with a flashy white and gold center. While Vela was chaotic, a wild net of fiery red and neon blue, aggressive and violent. Both were impressive in their own way.

But which to show Pisces would make her look gentle and traditional, it would attract calm and serious mates. However, Vela would make her look ferocious and adventurous, and the males that would look at her would be valiant and careless. She needed to choose sensibly unless she wanted to attract the wrong type of attention, or no attention at all.

"And why should I have to care about what type of males I attract" she wondered stubbornly.

Piscis Vela chose to display both constellations on her wings.

@Tj The Noble

DESCRIPTION:

TJ The Noble seems to think he deserves to be the king of the land. His logic is that he is somehow related to TJ09, the mysterious deity that formed the land of Dragcave, since his identification code is 'tj9JJ'. However, nobody really minds him, even though he often proclaims orders for everyone to follow. Secretly, down deep, TJ The Noble feels insecure, and he is worried that nobody will accept him. What he doesn't know, though, is that he is extremely annoying, and that the other dragons will gladly be his friend if he would stop telling everyone and everything that he is the lord and they are his servants.

Reject: It breaks character quite a bit. You probably shouldn't mention the codes or moderators and sitename.

Accept:

@ the reject: I understand your concern, but look around. Seriously. There are DOZENS upon DOZENS of descriptions approved that mention other users or mods by name. Besides, I refrained from calling TJ09 a person. I said he was a deity. That meant he was like a god.

Seriously. "You probably shouldn't mention the codes or moderators and sitename"

A ) What's wrong with mentioning codes? Lots of people mention and name their dragons after codes. It's part of the game, so why shouldn't I mention it?

B ) I didn't even mention the moderators. TJ09's technically not a mod, he's the owner. However, I even stated he was a deity or a god, not a person. Shouldn't that be good enough for everyone?

C ) Sitename? Dragcave doesn't necessarily have to be the site name. You're just assuming that it is. Dragcave can be the name of the land that the dragons live in.

D ) Why didn't you use abstain? Do you really feel so strongly about this?

Update on Custos's description: I've been getting a lot of positive feedback and accepts, which is good. Thank you to all the people that have kept an open-mind on regards to his homosexuality thus far, you're very kind.

However, I received one confusing review ...

"•Abstain: ...omg a gay dragon xd.png"

I understand this person's surprise as it isn't common subject matter for descriptions, but what confuses me is the abstain. Was the abstain an accident or did they genuinely disapprove this aspect of his identity? However, it wasn't a crudely worded insult or anything, so I don't see it as a huge deal. I just hope it wasn't meant as an actual disapproval, as there is no blurb in the default dragon description claiming dragons are not capable of feeling affection or love towards the same gender

I also submitted a description for the healer Custos loves, but deleted it. I think I like having him obscure compared to Custos. Maybe I'll re-submit it another time, but for now I want to focus on just one description.

I might put Welcome's description up again later on, but right now I don't wish to have it in the review pool. I felt it lacked something, so I want to tweak it and wait a while before posting the final version.

It makes me happy to know you enjoyed my descriptions though, thank you! smile.gif

A) Personally, I feel rather strongly about codes - strongly enough that I'd probably have given you a reject, too. Because the code is just like a number, not something that has anything to do with the character of your dragon. It's something like your credit card number to me. (Not that I would mind you telling me your credit card number, btw. wink.gif )

Instead of mentioning the code, you could have used something else - like the dragon being born on the Holy Day of the Great TJ, Creator of Dragcave. Or say that TJ's star shone especially bright when your dragon was born. Or whatever else fits in with the role-playing aspect of describing your pixel dragon.

B ) I don't think it's wrong to mention TJ as the God of Dragcave. In a way, it's true, and it's a nice idea from a role-playing perspective.

C) Agreed.

D) (Up until I read here, I didn't even know whether abstains are shown to the dragon owner, much less with comment. xd.png )

I've mentioned codes with my dragons and got them approved though. My trick was to give a reason for the code as a unique identifying signature that remained there until the dragon took another name. The unique signature is in dragon speak with gives individual sounds to numbers (touched on that but didn't go through sounds.) Check my vamps descriptson that mention midas dorkface and Shallyn'ar (sp?)

Just saw this comment today.

Over the centuries, the storms that sweep her world are becoming more and more violent. Many are beginning to fear that the end of their world is coming due to the fierce nature of these massive tempests. To stabilize the weather and prevent disaster, several Storm Dragons formed what is known as the Great Weather Manipulation Project (GWMP). Hala does not consider herself part of GWMP. She may be a powerful Controller, but she has better things to do than help out a bunch of do-gooding dragons. She would rather take care of herself and her own. That said, Hala is usually the first one in her Cave to volunteer to help another dragon and she almost always assists GWMP when they ask, even if she isn't a member.

Accept:

Accept: Large-scale environmental worldbuilding may not be the most suitable thing for a description, and personality-wise there's a bit of a contradiction in terms of altruism, but otherwise fair. Well done.

*Looks at the 56 other members of GWMP on her scroll* Huh, didn't realize that wasn't suitable for a description. And I'm well aware that there is a contradiction in her personality. That was sort of the point. She talks like she doesn't care about others but actually does. Maybe that didn't come across to clearly?

This nameless little hatchling is one of many sent by an unknown individual to keep an eye on various dragon communities and report back what they find. Her job is to watch Bonescale Weyr, where she's become the special pet of the two black marrow dragons who gave the weyr its name. They save her special tidbits, and in exchange, she helps keep watch when not making her observations. Bonescale Weyr still isn't the easiest place to live, but the inhabitants take care of their own, even the little crimson flare pygmy with a knack for being where she shouldn't.

COMMENTS:

Accept: This is good and I see no problem with it, but you are sometimes hostile towards criticism on the forum. If you want to be a serious writer you need to be open to criticism, even if you don't like it.

First of all, I'd like to apologize to whoever I was particularly harsh to, please don't take it personally. I've been kind of down lately because nobody seems to care about my descriptions and I keep getting all these comment-less accepts that make me think if it's even really worthwhile to keep writing them. Even worse I've gotten comment-less rejects randomly and all over the place and this has really hurt me and damaged my reputation as a good description writer. Therefore I think you can understand why right now I'm sort of hostile to criticism, because I'm already being pounded on all sides by these factors and then unknowning users come in and criticize me for (sometimes, IMO) petty or their-opinion things that aren't against the rules and that nobody has said I could not use.

Second of all, thanks for this comment, I've been trying not to take it out on others and I will try harder now, I will attempt to be more open. It isn't you guys' fault, just that I'm more harsh because so many things are hitting me from all over the place.

Kylobyte has a famously accurate and extensive memory. Given a single thorough look over an area she will be able to describe and answer any questions regarding its contents, as though she were there revisiting it at the moment of inquiry. Her patterns are curiously also extremely detailed, inspiring some painters to try to match in their own work the minutest star or wisp of nebulous gas pictured on her sides.

Neither terribly fierce nor very friendly, Crystaline falls in the middle among the other vampires for her temperament. The few dragons with which she socializes are either other vampires or Black Marrows, though she's been spotted conversing with a Turpentine on one occasion, and a Shadow Walker on many others, though none of the latter have made indication whom. Zap-a-Dee-Doo-Dah spends his time among dark storm clouds, hidden within. Many assume him to be a blackguard hiding from justice's eyes, or purely a sociopath, because of this behavior. The accusations are far from an accurate composition of the thunder dragon's moral status. The thunder dragon's reason for his surroundings is stage fright. He enjoys the glorious art of singing, but not when inquisitive eyes are upon him. The obscuring clouds provide excellent seclusion while a storm's rumble hinders anyone searching for the origins of his song. The downside, though, is he doesn't know if he is in tune.

Earthdefender Eamon is the captain and founder of the 1st Earthdefending Airborne Division. His duty is to coordinate all their attacks on those dreaded invading aliens - the Space Chickens.

One normal sunny day became considerably less normal when his brother Earl came racing towards their cave at full speed, crashing badly at the entrance before cowering deep inside, hiding behind a rock as much as possible. His back injured and bleeding and his body badly shaking, he was in a dreadful state. When pressed for the cause of this, all Earl could mutter was "Space Chicken invasion" before losing consciousness. Eamon immediately took it on him to begin a counter-offensive avenging his brother, gathering dragons to join his newly founded Airborne Division and seeking contact with the Ninja Chickens, their newly found brothers-at-arms in this war between planets.

I find that last reject comment funny. "No one thought that way." There's documentation that they did have closeted gay relationships in medieval and even back to the Roman Empire. I don't think the reject is warranted.

This comment is just so incorrect it's laughable. We have to think of the children, Lugia! We can't let them know two males or two females can be in love just like a male and female can. It's just ... outlandish.

Sarcasm aside, I hope the person behind this comment will better educate themself before making such harsh judgements about homosexuality in the future. "No one back then thought that way" ... yikes.

I got a helpful, though incorrect, description comment:

DarkBlackSurviver is a Black Dragon hatchling who has been through a lot in his (relatively) short life. He hatched in the middle of a hurricane, literally out in the middle. His egg was hidden near two trees that were ripped from the ground by the strong winds. Luckily the egg hatched before its shells were thrown up into the air. DarkBlackSurviver hunkered down to the ground, and just then his owner found the terrified hatchling. She was carrying a lantern and almost otherwise hidden in a large oiled cloak, right behind her was his mother. The two females, human and dragon, bundled up DarkBlackSurviver and raced back to safety. He is very lucky to have survived, but the rest of his life should seem very good by comparison.

Accept: If he was found literally in the middle of a hurricane, then he'd be in the eye of it, which is the calmest part. However, it is surrounded by the most violent part. Unless that's what you meant.

But the eye of the storm isn't always in the exact center, see:

Hurricane Andrew

I meant "in the middle" more as in "halfway through" in this case anyway, not "exact center".

Named after an epic wave in human history, Kanagawa Wave embodies the force of his namesake. He is fiercely protective of his mate and children. His protectiveness has reached the point of being all-controlling and dominating. Whether this protectiveness is an inherent trait natural to Kanagawa or was impressed onto him by elder Tsunami Wyverns, one can't say. However, his forcefulness and control has led him to choose the friends he and his mate surround themselves with. Kanagawa has even interfered ruthlessly in his son's love life. Disapproving of the love between a Shadow Walker and Fantaji no Nami, Kanagawa one day conjured a great storm with the help of several Gray dragons to forever separate Nami from his lover. For Kanagawa, no one knows best like he does.

His dreams and desires are mere fantasies. He rarely ever attains his goals. When he does, the taste of sweet triumph would be washed away by the waves. This has happened with a Shadow Walker who likes to wander the coast and collect shells. When Fantaji did picked up the courage to mate with her after years of courting, the ambivalent winds of the coast whipped up into a brooding maelstrom. Maelstrom transformed into typhoons, and a raging tropical hurricane brushed the object of his admiration out of reality.

Now, like his Shadow Walker lover, those gentle kisses and embraces seem faded and no longer a part of his world. They're like memories of a sweet dream from long ago. Fantaji occasionally yearns for his first love. However, he has moved on with a mate-a mate who won't abandon him.
