Posted February 4, 2010 In all honesty when I saw the movie, I hated the casting. Mouths draping open 24/7 are NOT attractive. Also thought that it was extremely shallow. Then I read some of the book and found that it too was shallow. Another thing...exactly WHAT is it about the vampyres in the story that make them vampyres? No fangs. They can't use magic or control the dead...or shapeshift. So having sparkly skin just makes me think they're more like elves. Sure the story might be cool; the idea of a human and a vampyre falling in love and that several badjillion fans couldn't be wrong. Or so I thought. This is America; we have people driving into drive-ins who NOD at the speakers. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 4, 2010 I think it IS very shallow, and really in the movie nobody was amazingly awe-inspiring beautiful, all the Cullens just looked like they had a SHYYYYTYETON of makeup on. It was just too done-up. Share this post Link to post

Posted February 6, 2010 Personally,I am completely neutral about the book.Eh,yes I read the whole series,and it was sort of interesting,but nothing big popped out at me.Although many might argue,I like the idea of totally remaking vampires.I think that was the sole reason of mine to read the books.It was interesting to compare what I know about "proper" vampires with the sparkly vampires.
