Dreams You've Had

Recommended Posts

*reads the above dream* ..... remind me never to complain about Disney-related dreams ever again. I'd probably lose my mind if I dreamed a horror flick like that. *shudders* Sorry you had to suffer seeing something like that.

Last night I dreamed I was riding on a motorcycle down a long stretch of desert highway, that reminded me a bit of Route 66. Not that I've ever traveled on that road, but I've seen enough pictures of it. anyway, There's was no real point or destination to where I was going and in the dream, it felt like it didn't matter. I was simply traveling; enjoying the freedom of the open road. No stress, nothing to tie me down, just freedom.

I've been on a extremely strict diet for months, (gluten, dairy, sweetener and nightshade free). Last night I dreamt about chocolate cake with coconut and pecan frosting.

To clarify, I wrote this dream down in a random notebook. There are parts I really don't remember.

I once had a dream that I got pushed into my gym locker. The gym locker, despite being one foot by one foot by one foot, managed to fit me in itself and turned out to be a portal to this bog or something (now the part I don't remember) with a bunch of animals trying to kill me. (???) I think it was this kind of thing that you only lived if you made certain decisions correctly and I made an escape with Bilbo Baggins. I remember most of the rest. It involved me throwing a fishing line at a tree, the line miraculously sticking, and the two of us climbing up the line to the tree to find a bunch of supplies waiting. I found a bow and a quiver of arrows and went hunting for some reason. (Gimme a break. I was in sixth grade.) This was also before I found out I was left eye dominant. I ended up bumping into someone in the forest that was on the tree (I'm crazy, I know) and it ended up being an imaginary BFF or something and then the next part was just so weird I'm not even going to tell you. I'm just telling you that it ended up that I'd been gone for five years, and the dream ended basically five seconds later.

I had a dream this morning that I was back in high school with my graduation cap and gown and I was singing Amazing Grace in front of my peers.

Seriously, I feel like I just need to sit down one day and have a Disney Movie Marathon to keep these dreams away. Last night I had a dream about the movie Oliver and Company. yet another movie I haven't seen in years. I'm not annoyed by these dreams. I'll take them over nightmares any day. I'm just wondering why I'm having these kinds of dreams in the first place.

I had such a lovely dream involving a beautiful house. Well, there was this lovely night scenery to it. There's gentle breeze blowing and calm atmosphere. Some details were blury and I blurred some on purpose because it involves a crush of mine so I wouldn't be sharing that here. However, there is one scene where there was darkness covering parts of the house. I conjured my Patronus to light the way as I go walk across hallways and stairs. ohmy.gif It was amazing!

I'm going to blame last night's dream on the medication and not on the alternative which could only be insanity. >_<; It was like someone took the movies, characters and plots of Planet of the Apes (hate that movie series), Lilo and Stitch and AVATAR, put them into a blender and spit it out as a dream. There really is no way to explain how bizarre the dream was, it was just weird and I hope I never have another dream like that again. dry.gif

I mean, I get why I dreamed about Lilo and Stitch. I just got the Blu-ray a few days ago and I've been thinking about AVATAR recently, but where the heck does PotA come into play? Seriously. I haven't thought about it, seen it, talked about it, or nothing for months. (not that you could even pay me to see it, but still)

It's gotta be the meds. unsure.gif

No kidding like 90% of my dreams are corny action-adventures complete with plots and special effects. The best ever special effect was a Matrix-themed dream where I made everything go in slow motion and did an awesome flip/somersault combo off of a van whilst wearing a black leather trenchcoat. //I am the chosen one hurhurhur

The corniest one, though, was a super long karate movie/dream that involved dragon spirits, avenging a fallen master, and CSI Miami-esque one-liners. (literally, my enemy had taken the name "The Red Dragon" and for some reason I knew the dragon spirit was blue, so right before I *ehem* killed him via sword, I was all like "There are no red dragons." *super serious voice*)

(I can also lucid dream from time to time... which isn't always as great as it sounds... one time I tried changing the weather and literally broke the sky)

Last night I dreamt that I was a vampire. Well, I'm not really vulnerable to sunlight. Sunlight's alright. I got into some nice sanctuary with me. Perhaps this dream is based on the joke about Hufflepuffs do not die; they just turn into sparkly vampires (due to Cedric Diggory turning to Edward Cullen).

Well, at least I didn't turn sparkly in the dream. I wouldn't like it.

Ok so I think one of my greatest fears almost came true - I had a loop dream.

So I decided to take a nap because I was sick, and then I started dreaming, but the dream was just me lying there thinking about getting up, and then my friend just comes into my room with an iPad and just sits there doing something. I realize that I am in a dream, so I wake up and I'm in my room again. Except I didn't wake up, because this time my mom came and said it was time for dinner and left. It was actually afternoon, but at that moment I didn't realize it and thought I was in the real world. But then a bunch of people walked past my room and I realized i was in yet another dream. This time I went into yet another dream, but I thought I woke up, because I got up and went to my bathroom to brush my teeth. Then, when I looked down on my hands, they seemed blurry, but I thought it was just my eyesight. I walked around, and actually wanted to check if this was a dream by jumping down the stairs. I told myself that it would be crazy because I was of course not dreaming, and I would break my leg if I tried to do that. After more nightmarish never ending loops of false reality, I actually woke up...I think. I'm still a bit confused on reality and started having some weird thoughts. So now I'm just in this scared state because what if our whole world, including this forum and all the people, is just a dream, but we had this dream for so long and now we can't realize what's normal and what's not. You know how sometimes you have a dream and you can't wake up? Maybe we were in that not-waking dream so long that we got used to its world, and now we CAN wake up, but everything here seems like reality to us? I'm having an existential crisis and I can't do anything about it. And what if our dreams are when we ARE back in our real world, but we're so no used to it that we go back to sleep to see our 'real' world? Ummm I think something si wrong with me. Help. I am so sorry for the long post.

So how can we all dream the same thing? A common dream?

tongue.gif Oh the philosophical thought of existencialism.

There was a Chinese poet who dreamt he was a butterfly. And he was afterwards unsure if he is really a butterfly dreaming he is a man, or a man dreaming he was a butterfly.

I was watching opera which is about worst part of my life. It was showing I was bullied in school. And I don't know why I watch that again and its last scene was bloody and grossing.

I just had the best dream last night. It was exactly what I needed to help with writing for one of my stories, which I was hopelessly stuck at.

I haven't had many FF7-related dreams lately, but this one was of the cute, clumsy Cadet Cloud Strife. He was shy and timid and (falls into a fangirl moment) he was sneaking around Shinra, which I think has to do with an RP I'm currently in, but the way it unfolded worked out perfectly with something that had been forcing one of my stories to halt in its tracks thanks to writer's block. Not anymore! biggrin.gif

I love it when dreams work out that way. They're such a big help and easily become a writer's best friend. wub.gif

I watched a documentary about the migration of Monarch butterflies a week or two ago. They migrate to Mexico and roost in the trees by the countless millions:

When you see an entire forest covered in them it's mind boggling.

In my dream the other night, I'm walking in this forest when I notice all these clusters of what I think are Monarchs. Hundreds of clusters hanging from every tree as far as I could see. And weirdly, there were clusters on the ground, too, like a maze of pillars. They were everywhere, above me, beside me and all around me. I stopped dead in my tracks and just froze because I began to realize that those clusters weren't made up of butterflies, they were made up of cockroaches. Millions and millions of cockroaches. Big ones, small ones, tiny ones, all kinds of cockroaches. I knew if I so much as tapped one of those hanging clusters or knocked into one of those pillars the entire hoard would wake up and scatter everywhere....and crawl all over me, drowning me in them. I was still standing there, frozen and afraid to move when I woke up. lol

I dreamed I had a dog, but somehow I forgot about him. Then I remembered I should have given him food and water, but he had climbed up a mountain that went up almost vertically. I climbed up to get him, and then I sat there on the mountain with the dog, almost falling down, and I had various other things in my hands and not enough hands to hold everything, and I didn't know what to do. Then a weird tall man appeared and helped me by taking some of the things I was holding.

(End of dream, I think.)

The dog's name was "Misha" and he was yellow. I have no idea why my brain gave me a yellow dog named Misha.

I use dreams as a method to uncover memories from past lives, so I have a lot of dreams of being a snow leopard, and other lives.

I think the most memorable non-past life dream I've had is the one with the possessed game. It was like a little tomagatchi that was possessed by an evil, malevolent entity. It gathered pieces of machinery to gain power. It just gave off this air of pure hate, the kind of evil that sends shivers down your spine and makes your brain scream "run away!" and it was awesome. I felt like even after crushing it, I couldn't get the evil out of this thing.

I had an awesome dream last night. It started off with me watching my mother make a cake. She was making it for my brother's early birthday party, because she was gonna be away working during his actual birthday. The cake was circular and wrapped in fondant, and for some reason the ribbons she were piping came out looking mangled and terrible. She was also telling my brother to watch a movie, and when I looked at the movie it was Scream. Well, not exactly, it was called Scream: The Dark Doks (docks was spelt wrong).

I started scolding her for tricking my brother into watching a horror movie, as he was so young. All of a sudden, we were outside by a pond. Also there were Marty Mcfly and the doctor from Back To The Future. This was odd, as I haven't actually seen the movie, I only know the name of Marty and that it has something to do with a doctor and a time travelling car. The doctor told me he was trying to make a time travelling device, and he was holding an egg which he said would do it. He asked me if I would like to help him and Marty, and I said yes (although, in reality I would have thought about it, and taken my laptop to whatever time period we were going to).

My mother and brother dissapeared at this point, and Marty, the doctor and me held onto the egg. We waited a few seconds, and my eyes were closed. The egg exploded, and I said "is someone eating chips?" because of the bits of eggshell hitting us. The doctor was unfazed, and he told me he would build an even better machine, and suddenly I was at school. The weird thing is, the school was right next to the doctors backyard, had shrunk, and was in the country instead of town.

I wandered around and saw people doing swimming sports and other things, when I appeared next to the doctor. He said he was done, and I saw the car. He asked me if I knew the risks of time travel, and I said it was fine. I was back at school again, and I started running around telling people I was going to go time travel. They actually seemed interested (they would have thought me mad if it was real life), and I thought "oh no, I don't want them coming with me", so I started acting as if I was insane. This got rid of them, and I appeared next to the car.

The doctor, Marty and me got in, with the doctor in the front and me and Marty in the back. Even though the car wasn't time-traveling, I saw a time vortex out the back window that looked like the one from the Doctor Who intro. I said "That looks like Doctor Who", and the doctor asked me what year we should go back to. I said 1980, because 8 was my favorite number, and the 80's wasn't going far back. I explained why I liked 8, and the doctor said "I like how you think, you have a logical brain". We suddenly appeared in a corridor in the school, right next to the open door of a classroom. I saw some of my classmates there, and they started laughing. I said "screw all of you", the doctor started the engine and got ready to go, and I woke up.

That was one of the best dreams I've ever had, why did I have to wake up so soon?

Pfft I discovered a Notes page on my phone with a list of dreams I don't even remember having. This is one of the more coherent (?) ones.

I was taking a quick 3 question quiz. The questions were printed on cards, and we were supposed to answer on this answer pack of Chinese essay paper. I had already completed the first two questions, and was currently working on the last question that seemed to be about algebra and geometry. Because I was running low on time, I convinced the sentient robot sitting next to me to do it for me. At the last minute, I realized that the robot's handwriting was different from mine and I wanted to redo it on my own. For some reason, I suddenly couldn't find the question cards or the sheet the robot wrote on. I tried to scribble down what I remembered on the other pages of the pack, but it was too late. When the teacher came to collect my work, I realized that the entire packet had disappeared for some reason. The teacher allowed me to look around my desk for it, but then promptly forgot about me. The next class came in, and I ended up moving to a new window seat. As some kind of activity goes on, a bald teacher comes over and sits next to me so that he can help the student behind me. Somehow, before the class ends, he discovers my question cards stuck on the windowsill, somehow printed on black card instead of the white paper slips they were originally on. He decides to collect those for me, though I inwardly want to keep them so I can redo them. I still can't find my answer pack by the time school ends, so I keep digging around my backpack to see if it fell in there. Nothing works. Then I woke up.

Looking back, all the ones centered around me are slightly depressing. Why does my subconscious do this to me?

I had this dream about last year, and don't remember much about it, but it was like a montage of loads of different ghosts killing random people. I was terrified.

The very next night I had a nightmare again, and this time I was in my room. The door slammed shut and everything became dark. When the lights came back on there was a little girl staring at me. Don't remember what happened next.
