Posted December 30, 2010 Alrighty. Minerva in Crisis Core... You do NOT have to be level 99. I beat her at level 54. Because the flippin' DMW whatever thing pissed me right the hell off, and I gave up on it. All you have to do is have the right armor and equipment. If you want, I can fire up my Crisis Core game and see what I had to do it. Then, once you have the right equipment, it's just a matter of blocking and attacking in the right pattern. It's fairly easy once you figure her pattern out and figure out you can block her Ultima spells. And as for getting that right equipment, you do NOT have to pound your way through every mission. Yes, you have to finish them all, but you do NOT have to really legitimately beat it - hug the walls to skip ninety percent of the fights and just focus on getting to the boss and praying your luck holds so you can beat them. I had harder times beating some of the boss battles where you fight 5-8 of those stupid super-whamadine soldier dudes that have super-powerful attacks (the last 4-5 missions) than I had beating Minerva. Posted December 30, 2010 8D Thanks for the tips...and thankfully I'm at level 53. >_> TELL ME YOUR PATTERN. :| Chances are though that I won't ever take off my health materia or whatever it is that sets my health limit at like 99999... My setup: Materia: Curaga (master, HP+700%) Costly Punch (master, atk+46) Mug (master, ap+100%) HP Up++ (master, hp+999%) SPR Up++ (master, spr+99) VIT Up++ (master, vit+98) Accessories: Genji Helm Super Ribbon (though this is completely unnecessary - I'd throw on something that makes you hit harder or ramps up your mag score) Ziedrich (you can use the Genji glove here, but I suck so I never got that accessory) Genji Armor This setup gives me max hp, vit and spr. These are all I needed to be maxed (costly punch hits for max damage regardless of the atk score, it seems). Genji Helm stops you from expending mp and ap, so curaga can be spammed like nothing else. Make sure you spam the crud out of it and keep your health at max. You can block almost all of her attacks, and in fact must block her ultimas and her attack with her bow and arrow - these will insto-kill you if you're not blocking. In fact, if you don't have the Ziedrich and Genji Armor, it will insto-kill you regardless of whether or not you're blocking. Her sword/energy spam attacks aren't that bad - just dodge/roll and hit her as many times as you can. Back off after 2-3 good hits, heal yourself and repeat. When she ultimas, make sure you block it, cure immediately and hit her a few times as she'll delay her next attack after this. When she winds up for her bow and arrow attack, MAKE SURE YOU BLOCK. Otherwise you die. This is the only thing I had trouble with until I learned what animation to look out for. Seriously, I did this battle about 10-15 times before I figured out the darned Ziedrich is key to winning - after my first equipping of the Ziedrich, I won the next battle very easily. I was so shocked over how easy it was that I did it again just to ensure I wasn't having a grand stroke of luck. It wasn't supremely difficult after I figured out all of her attacks. Just fight her a few times, get the hang of whatever pattern you want to use, and then go kick her rear. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 30, 2010 That helps. I just hit lvl 40 8D And I often hug the walls in the stupid missons, I can't stand walking two feet till the next battle Share this post Link to post
Posted December 31, 2010 (edited) That helps. I just hit lvl 40 8D And I often hug the walls in the stupid missons, I can't stand walking two feet till the next battle (laughs) Same here. I hated the last 2 wutai missions just because of the stupid battles you're FORCED to fight before the boss battle, because there's no way to squeeze past them. As stated, only trouble I had was with the flippin' super soldiers. Genesis clones? No problem. 5 of those damned 'I hit you with stuff that freezes you then with fireballs that each do 60,000+ damage' morons? GRRRRRR. That's where I was constantly altering my accessories to make myself immune to most've their attacks, prior to winning my Super Ribbon. And that's why my Super Ribbon stays on my spiky li'l head in every battle now, regardless of whether or not it's required. Oh! Always have your Phoenix Down on you, too, just in case you screw up and forget to curaga before being smashed upside the face by Minerva. (and expect to burn through them, because she performs a spell/attack that blows away your auto-reviving abilities every now and again) Best of luck to you! I look forward to reading your post of success pummeling her into paste. Edit: Forgot about her silly 'I smash your auto-revival' ability. Had to add it for the sake of not having anyone following this thread and hoping to use hints and tips to smash her in for that unpleasant surprise. I'm still working on getting to the last wutai missions x.x;; BTW little Yuffie is annoying the hell out of me Where do you get the Super Ribbon again? x.x Don't hold your breath, these missions are giving me a headace. It's a good thing I'm hanging out in the Sector 7 church to do them, it's peaceful there x3 Share this post Link to post
Posted December 31, 2010 Where do you get the Super Ribbon again? x.x Mission 9-6-2. So you don't get it until you're nearly done, but it's awesome for when you decide to be a tard and try to actually level up using that stupid rotating slot machine of DOOM (and/or peeving Wends right the heck off) and continually running the stupid 'fight 1000 infantry guys' mission. Grrrrr. As for Yuffie, seeing as how I wanted to punt her across the flippin' world in FF7 (and hence named her Twatface), her presence in Crisis Core... made me laugh the first time I saw her. After that I wanted Zack to be exchanged with Reno, who we all know wouldn't have a problem dropping her off a cliff and tossing a lily after her to pay homage to her mangled corpse. (that's the problem with prequels - you know exactly who's going to live and die. So no matter how much I dreamed, the horrid realization that Yuffie would indeed live and Zack would be shot in the face drove my enjoyment of Crisis Core down to moderate levels. Le sniff.) (at least FF8 doesn't have any prequels where I would find myself screaming in frustration that you couldn't be Charlie-Brown-Squall's friend and had to do escort missions with Brat!Princess!Rinoa or something rather than drop her in the Deep Sea Research Facility to feed the behemoths.) Grrrrr. Mmmk. OK, I CANNOT figure out how to join the Silver Elites. I think I'm in the right chapter (This is the second time I can wander Sector 8, This has to be the right time, cuz the third time the Sephiroth fan lady laments that the Elites were recruiting the other day and she missed it.) But I can't find who to talk to... The FF wiki just says "the chairwoman" and that DOESN'T HELP ME FIND HER. >.<;; Share this post Link to post

Two of the greatest villains of Final Fantasy. Good games, those two! If you have a PS3, you can download 7,8 and Tactics from the PSN, BTW. Share this post Link to post

Right now my max health is 21140. :U I suggest equipping the Adaman Bangle...it sets your hp limit at 99999. After equipping that just equip everything you possibly can that ups your health to get it closer to max (like one of the things I have equipped is an HP Up++ Master +310% ) while still allowing for other stuff (eh...I'm heavy offense....my health matters more than my defense so I focus mostly on magic and hp upping but you're likely not the same way lol). Posted January 8, 2011 I haven't gotten to play FF in … over a year The last place I left off was during the Sephiroth fight and I remember he kept killing me off to the point I was *growling* at my PSP >_> I am hoping to by a PSN gift card so I can buy some of the older FF games (FF7!) and hopefully I can play them soon Share this post Link to post

Posted January 9, 2011 LOL I beat him on the first try ^^ /brags It was fun. I will never get tired of Sephy's theme x3 Same here. Seriously, Sephiroth's not tough in any game he's featured in. Such a pity that he's so overhyped. (only time he was a true bada$$ for me was in Little Big Planet - and that's because I play 'im. Because Sockboy Sephiroth is cute beyond belief. Now if only they had a Squall-mod... (insert massive swoon here)) Now Kuja on the other hand... (shudder) And flippin' Ultimecia! We don't want to talk about my first try at her. The 2nd was awesome, though. Because of Phoenix. Twice in a damned row. FF7 is fun, but I keep getting SO lost!! I have to look up guides on youtube >__> Guides for FF7? Serious? Sheesh. Here I thought that world was stupid-simple to navigate. Maybe it's because of the comparative difficulty of navigating in FF1, where you have a world the size of the flippin' universe and your boat's 5 pixels across. Share this post Link to post
