Final Fantasy

I love Final Fantasy. I have been considering replaying the older ones lately. I found a nice CRT Monitor and a working NES and my cartridge for FF1 still saves, so tempting to play, but I'd have to delete my childhood save file.


Fifteen was amazing too. I haven't done the DLC yet, I'm waiting on all of it to be released.

Same here, though since they announced some new ones I think it's going to be quite the wait.

Cant play XV because i dont how a single console (except a Wii, which i won) but i watched lets plays and it is wonderful, not perfect, but very close.

 

I acually play XIV: A Realm Reborn (on Zodiark), the reborn version of the original XIV MMO, with the expensions 'Heavensward' and 'Stormblood' and it is fantastic! Best MMORPG i ever played and the story is a masterpiece! It has its ups and downs like any game, but overall a gift to the world!

 

Btw, whoever played it and wants to try again, there is a free 96hours returning event means: if you played it and stoped more than 90 days ago, you can come back and play for free!

 

It also has a free trial to test for two weeks, perfect for christmas vacation!

 

 

My fave 'normal' Final Fantasy game is 9 since forever, wonderful story, no egdy emos (I´m looking at you Cloud and Squall!) and Zidane, the protagonist, is acually not the important guy at the start, he is just doing his job (being the cheerfull clown of the group and) escorting a wonderful princess who gets always attracting trouble.

I'd like to play 9, but can never find it. I heard the main character has a monkey tail and when he was being created Nomura was debating whether it was 9's hero or Sora that would get the tail. Lol.

 

And I'm sorry, but I gotta defend mah boi Cloud. He ain't emo. He struggles with depression issues but he's recently beem getting better. Look at him in the World of Final Fantasy game. I've never heard or seen him so chatty and supportive.

Yeah, Zidane has a monkey tail (funny enough, he only acually uses it one time and its the best scene ever) and is part of an ancient artifactly race created for plot reasons, you should play it yourself to see why.

 

Well, in the original game he was an emo to me, so depressed and full of pride. 'I´m a 1st class soldier, i have to fight Sephiroth! **** friends, i have to do this alone! Mimimimimimimi!' Took him FOREVER to see that Tifa can kick his ass harder than Sephy could ever manage.

And after playing FF:Crisis Core.....gosh, he is a mako junkie stealing my bois (Zack <3) story and place in history, gosh, i fell in love with Zack faster than a train could ever hit me and made me hate what Cloud could have been!

 

I just got a thing for upbeat characters who dont tell the world about thier deep problems and refuse to get help, too much drama for me.

FF7 always looked for me like damn facebook today, talking that you are in pain only to tell freinds who want to help it doesnt matter or should not interest them

Then WHY are you talking about it where everybody can see and react to it?!

 

Sorry, went a bit overboard there. In Dissidia (the first game) Cloud was nice to play, his story was fantastic and the conversations with the others too, didndt had the chance to play the second game or World of FF, should take a look and see how he changed since i absolutly hate him in FF7 and i should give him a chance.

 

Still would like to punch him and Cloud in the face and tell them to dont do drugs (or use GFs, which are kinda the same when overusing them XD)

As for Cloud, yes, he has a lot of issues. I won't even try to deny that, but its not all his fault. He had a few people messing with his head, and a big chunk of the blame goes to Professor Hojo. The entire reason why Cloid was mako sick is because Hojo submerged him in a tank of it for 4 years. The reason why he took Zack's story is because of mako's effect. It's absorbsive (real word?) By nature and during their time on the run he was absorbing all of the stories Zack told him during that time and at the moment of Zack's death, Cloud was assaulted with flashbacks. He said he'd never forget, which he did break that promise, but you can't simply break mako sickness over night. That's why he was so broken in the movie. He was trying to push passed the regrets and broken promises regarding both Zack and Aerith. At the end of the movie he got his forgiveness and I think anything after that shows him acting like his actual true self. Those cutscenes in Dirge of Cerberus during the big battle are a good sign of that.

 

We might see a better explanation of his character development in the renake.

 

And beleive me, I am a hopeless Cloud fangirl, but my fav character is wuthout a doubt Zack Fair. That awesome, energetic puppy is just.....perfect.

I think IX was the last of the PS1 games.

 

I love most of the FF main characters and I find it really vexing that as the series has gone on so many of them end up without a 'proper' happy ending. They've all gone bittersweet lately.

Well, when i remember correctly, FFVI was the first having such ending.

After Kefka (my fave antagonist) destroyed the world and became a god, slaying him didnt revert what was done. People lived in a broken world, highlevel monsters everywhere, nature almost dead or corrupted and the population was almost wiped out. And depending on what you did, key npcs or teammates could have died too.

That wasnt very nice finishing that game, but made the final fight mich more important cause you as the player just HATE what happend.

 

But yeah, that trend did increase over the last games i guess after 10? (exception: 14 and 11 as mmos)

I hope 16 will be more the past games, more happiness at the end that makes you feel statisfied with what you have done.

A lot more. I bought the first season pass and it only included the dlcs, comrades, and a handful of other goodies. The RE gives you freestyle royal boat, extra bosses and locations to explore, a nice fusionof comrades in the actual game and I havent even really looked for other hidden treasures or easter eggs. Oh, also your amiger is more powerful if u collect all 13 and go to they keykatrich (I know I spelled that wrong) trench in the desert area where Core led you to the underground tomb (not tje one you met him at, but the next one over) there should be a statue nearby that gives you a powerboost.

 

Also there's more dlc episodes coming soon.

Well Claw, this may make it a bit easier to pry it out once they release the newest episodes for the next season pass! I'm so excited!

 

We're getting an episode Ardyn, Episode Arenea, Episode Lunafreya AND Episode Noctis!

This sounds very good! I have FFXV for PS4 and I love it, I finally reached lvl 120 and don't have any DLC's so far, I have the edition with the Masamune...

 

Anyway, I'm sad because it seems my PS4 ran out of disk space and won't update to the latest version of the game, I wonder that if I just buy the Royal Edition and install it would solve my current issue...

I'm starting to get confused here, would the Royal Edition allow me to have all the DLC already released and yet to be released without further purchases? Because I'd quite like to replay FFXV and play the DLCs, but I can't afford to keep rebuying stuff every time they release a new episode.

@Fortune86 Royal only contains the current season pass content (Episode Gladiolus, Episode Prompto, Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades, and Episode Ignis) and a lot of DLC like skins, weapons, and items. It doesn't include the new content Syiren mentioned, so you would have to purchase it again.

 

'Tis the downside of DLC, to me. Sometimes I wish we'd go back to the day one edition being the entire game's content instead of additional content that adds to the purchase price.

Guess that means I'll have to wait even longer for the 'final' edition (and possibly for that to be on sale). I too miss when everything was included in the day one edition.

^This. Also, that nickname just came out of left field. In that case thats what I'll call you from now on.

While I do hate that I have to keep forking over cash for more content I am happy with all the extra stuff, especially with the royal edition. It was actually cheaper than I thought it'd be. I bought the day one edition with just the masamune as well, but I don't regret getting the season pass. And I plan to get the next one. I want to see that alternate ending.

So it looks like the final wave of DLC has been cancelled. Episode Ardyn will still be released, but nothing after that.

 

Does that mean they are going to stop working on this game and start on FFXVI?

I have no idea, but it's a very bad sign. $33 million loss is a huge hit. This might explain why we've gotten no FFVII remake updates in awhile.

Yeah, I saw that and that Director Tabata left Square entirely. I'm kinda worried about the FFVII remake now. That guy brought us Crisis Core. which ties heavily into FF VII, so it makes me wonder how things will change or move forward from here. I am beyond peeved that those DLC's were canceled. We deserved to find out more about Luna. Now, I know Noctis is supposed to be betrothed and married to Luna, but I'm just not seeing it. I see him more easily with Iris, because they had far more interaction and chemistry than Luna did, at least that we were shown. Especially in the mini anime series when both he and Iris were kids.

Nyello everybody; hopping on in here to look see what the goings on is. For one thing; They are completely dropping work on ff15 from what I hear. No more DLC after Ardyn will be released, and comrades is getting taken down and released as it's own thing. From what I've heard there is no interest in a next game in the series as of now, and as far as ff7s remake is concerned they already stated that the game would NOT use crisis core/ dirge of Cerberus in its canon; rest in peace Gackt. They actually had to dump everything CC2 had done and restarted the entire project for the remake also. The entire thing is a mess.

AS FOR FF14, that right there is my **** . I play the hell out of it and honestly I'm having a great time.
