I almost did that yesterday but it was with my silver x shadow walker. I was so excited that my silver matured that I went to try and breed him... when I remembered at the last minute that I was egg locked. Luckily! Though when I tried later, they refused each other anyway.

Yes, I checked them too and grabbed one 2nd gen purebred horse egg, just for helping to clear the AP.

Now I'm waiting for three eggs to hatch, so that I can continue hunting...

Terrible? Are you kidding me? They're all PB, even-gen Horses. I picked up two 3rd Gens to breed together to help me start towards a 7th Even-Gen. This is wonderful.
