One must be forgiving.

It's main theme isn't Final Fantasy, or Disney - It's unique and of it's own. That isn't the FFVII Zack. Squall/Leon is too old to be original Squall. And we mustn't forget the FF characters in twilight town and the destiny islands...

Or the gullwings.

In fact, the only character that might be the same as their FF counterpart is Auron, because:

A) He's in the land of the dead

He's younger

And

C) His weird dark memory statue thingamadoo has actual voice clips from the spheres that showed us his journey with Jecht and Braska.

So he is in a shiney candyland of a universe (when compared to Final Fantasy games) while trying to recover from his greatest failure. Nomura must love his characters.

ANYWAY.

I remember I started playing KH for the FF influences. I can honestly say I was disappointed you can't run around some version of Gaia (or Spira, etc...), but it's very good nonetheless. Sora has his own interesting story, and even if it's Disney, it's got some more mature themes than they show on their Sunday morning cartoons.
