I do this with at least half of my dragons - anything that I can't think of a big fancy moniker for ends up with an unpronouncable mess derived from their code.

Sometimes the codes can be quite inspiring though. For example, a recent hatchie with the code "QggK4" ended up as "Quagga in a Phonebox" - after the extinct zebra-type animal, the quagga, and there being a model of phonebox known as a K4.

I name all of my dragons after their codes! Usually I pick out some of the letters in the code and put them in an acronym finder, as a result some of them have very... unusual names lol. The names are often a combination of acronyms too, example:

PLX: Parcel Line Express + y0: York = Parcels for York!

Ice-org = Izsog (I somehow translated that into Ice-Org. Don't ask how too bad it was a summer egg, then it would be perfect )

Rubix cube= ruR8x (it looked like rubix when I caught it)

Minty Matthew= nATew

Should've been a guy with v8= v8bro (best code ever . if only it was a boy..)

WHAAT= WU0HT (it looks like WUT or WHAT, and I was shocked that it was a curled alt, so perfection. IT WAS PERFECTION.)

I named my dragon Palindrome Code because it's code is iiMii ... I name nicely coded LINEAGED dragons. If they have nice codes and are CB then they get put with my other awesome coded dragons. I have quite a few though named after their codes! i just don't feel like listing them at 1AM on a friday

If it's a cavebred, and I don't have another name in mind already, I'll use the code. It makes it easier for me to tell at a glance which dragons are cavebreds. But it also can lead to some really weird names, like Kexpidar (kxpDa), Higzig (hGziG), and Sovilhessix (SV1h6). I'll sometimes use the code on a bred dragon; I have a Tinsel named Zidiau the Silver whose code is ZDIAU. And sometimes even when I have another name in mind, the code is too much fun to pass up. I have a male CB Thunder, code fLOwY, whose name is Aw Gee Why FLOWY.

the male with code JOKlD I name Jokid and the female with code IDUXk get the name Iduxia

I cannot name the child after its code because its is a bit inappropriate and not unsuitable for minors

XI0S = Xios Cyr, a CB ice.

9RlXM = N'rixia Cyr, a CB water. I have no idea how I came up with that.

GLIMZ = my favorite code by far. I named her Glimmering Moonlit Kisses, after the code and her lineage. The best part? She's a silver.

I do, sort of... Each capital letter is the first letter of one of its names. If I end up with one without capitals, I will just use the first letter and the dragon will have only one name.
