Suggestion warning for low time fogged eggs/hatchlings

Recommended Posts

Is there a way if a egg or hatchling is fogged that a warning comes onto the scroll page if they have let’s say 8 or less hours left before they’ll die if they don’t mature past that growth stage?

Kind of like the warning for sick eggs/hatchlings except only for low time fogged eggs/hatchlings.

Maybe a big red exclamation mark and bold red cap words below it “low time! You’re hatchling/egg Could die if left fogged.”.

Also maybe it would be programmed not to show if the egg/hatchling is sick or have a different warning if it’s low time and sick?

Maybe a orange exclamation and “Your low time egg is sick maybe you should ward it and  keep a close eye on its remaining time” It might be annoying if you had already warded it but at least you’d know your fogged egg has very little time left without having to click it to find that out.

Is there a way to implement that?

I’m not asking because of a death while fogged happening to me (so far it hasn’t) but because I’ve read of it happening and thought a warning might be helpful if it existed.

Obviously, it wouldn’t help if the scroll owner doesn’t come back online in time to see it before their egg/hatchling dies but if they were online and breeding or trading or whatever if it was on their scroll page they’d see it and have time to let their egg/hatchling get views.

Please disregard this suggestion if such a warning already exists and I am unaware because I haven’t triggered it yet.

Needed to clarify the reason I included the last sentence in the ost.

I would not want this. Many people fog hatchlings and let them die in the fog deliberately for zombie-making attempts, especially around Halloween. Some of us have very specific ways that we play and we don't want or need a huge 'warning' about something we already know. (Honestly, the big in-your-face sick warning is annoying enough! I really wish we could make that go away, like a 'yeah I've seen it, I know' type of 'okay' button.)

This really just comes down to taking responsibility for your dragons. Normally, for normal everyday dragon-growing, there is *no* reason to let an egg or hatchling get down to mere hours left on it's timer. They can hatch/grow at 4days, unless you are dealing with Siyats or deliberately not wanting them to hatch there is really no reason to wait 4 full days and suddenly they are dead behind the fog. Keep track of your growing creatures, check the times on any fogged things once a day, etc. It's really not that hard.

You can actually, with an element blocker....

Sorry but I agree with HeatherMarie. Keeping track of your stuff is part of the game (and yes, I have accidentally let things die - even fogged things.) If you are on your scroll to see a warning - you are able to click on your fogged stuff to check its timer.

While I understand your point, I'm not a fan of this suggestion either. I keep hatchlings fogged all the time to make zombies, and eggs for ND experiments, so the constant warnings would get annoying. If anything, I'd just like to be able to see the times more easily; whenever I want to check how soon I'll have empty slots I check my scroll in a fansite that shows time left instead of clicking every single thing. But that doesn't work for fogged eggs/hatchlings...so perhaps it would help this issue if we could see the time left when selecting the filter "eggs/unfrozen hatchlings"? No warning to bother all of us who keep things fogged until death or the last minute, but also an easy way for everyone to check if they have any forgotten ERs.

While I am not a fan of the low time warning suggestion, if someone could come up with a suggestion for this that would be amazing. I personally just go into a trade to view all of my times, but that still doesn't work for fogged eggs

I think just making time remaining a visible toggle on the dragons list could do the trick. It'd be a simple UI update that could help with other things, like blue or yellow sapphires.

Basically an extra row or column just for babies that gives time remaining. It doesn't have to be egregious.

It's not much different from warning people that their eggs are sick--that is, it's relevant info that's not visible from the all-dragons page.

As someone who frequently works with low-time eggs, I wouldn't mind this being implemented, especially with an X to close the warning after I've read it. (I also wouldn't mind an X out for the sickness warning...)

If TJ added the info on the all-dragons or growing things page instead, this wouldn't be needed anymore.
