Posted April 16, 2022 (edited) Welcome to the 20-Week Breeding Challenge: 2022 edition! The Challenge has officially ended, but some of us are continuing to post our lines! Sign-ups are CLOSED. What is the Challenge, you ask? Starting Sunday, May 1, 2022 we will be competing to see who can create the longest lineage (with a cohesive pattern) in a 20 week time period. The challenge will end on September 18, 2022. Why 20 weeks? It seems a good length of time to build a fairly long lineage while still being able to keep people interested and engaged. It allows us to finish before the holiday breeding madness begins. It's a nice round number! Why should you participate in the challenge? Good Question! First of all because it is FUN! Also – PRIZES! Every member who joins this project, will be offering a prize (sort of like a poker pot) at the end of this project. The plan is for everyone who finishes the challenge to win a prize. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will get to pick their prizes from the pot first. The rest of the prizes will be randomly distributed to the remaining finishers. Rules (because we do need rules!): All lineages must be some form of stair or spiral format. Examples: Stair, Single Step Spiral, Double Step Spiral, and so on. One of the base starting dragons MUST have a "Stolen on" date of May 1, 2022 or later. The other dragon (its mate) may be a previously existing CB dragon. The last dragon in your line must have a “Laid on” date of September 18, 2022 or earlier in order to be counted. You must create a public group for all dragons produced/used in the project. All dragons in the final lineage must be on your scroll and in your group at the end of the Challenge. Inbreeding will be allowed. At the end of the challenge each player will be asked to contribute one prize. It can be an offspring of your challenge lineage, or anything else you choose. So, just to clarify for my own silly brain, any of the CB I use throughout the lineage can be dragons I already own, yes? We just have to have the 1 in the base pair laid on the first or later? Goal: Pink/Gold Floret x Antarean Stair! I might do a Gold x Pink Floret Stair, if anyone has any suggestions (outside of prize/rare dragons) let me know! ❤️ Difficult to think of a pretty dragon to go next to Floret other then another Floret. Personally, I think the following have good potential for matching with Florets: Antarean Equinox Mirisia Mistra Razorcrest Wyvern Seasonal Wisteria (this was my favorite of the bunch tbh) you can always try breed pairings with the following: Forty-Two's lineage builder (what I mostly use) Heart of Blue Lineage Builder Share this post Link to post

But Mistra and Wisteria are good ideas too! ❤️ Eta: Whereas Wistera and Mistra are good choices, And Ridgewing matches Floret (the male alpine to pink female) in colors, I am going to choose the Antarean. Posted April 19, 2022 Not sure what this lineage is called, but it is what I am going with: At the spiral, it switches genders. The switch pair produce a female Antarean instead of a male Antarean. and that offspring would breed to a male gold floret instead of a female gold floret. (Also it's supposed to be 7 pairs either side, per spiral switch, my bad!) I want to call it soaring spiral, if it doesn't already exist and have a name that is. ^^; Also nicknamed the smile, for how the male and female of the respective soaring breed form a smile in the lineage. It doesn't necessarily have to be a winged breed of dragon either, you'll see the soar/smile happen in the way the lineage forms. Soar would refer to the 7 female Gold Florets and 7 male Gold Florets. Smile would refer to the 7 male Antareans and 7 female Antareans. There is a reverse of it too: I would call it the descending frown, but reverse soaring stair sounds slightly better? Each spiral switch done would count as 1 step, so these are both 1 steps. What makes it different is that it's more then 2 or 3 pairs per step, and is instead up to 5 to 8 pairs per step. I'm almost certain there is a version of this out there somewhere. But this will be what I am doing for the challenge, at least the first picture Just looks really pretty ❤️ And is easy to continue for whomever would like an egg ❤️ Share this post Link to post
