Welcome to the Photography Contest!

 

Welcome back for another round of the DC Photography contest, come and show us what you've got! 

 

This time, the theme is: Learning

Anything you decide that is photo worthy about learning. Could be a class, could be teachers, could be someone teaching another something. Use your creativity!

 

Submission deadline: April 29 (Hopefully this is just the right amount of time?)

 

Voting deadline:  May 8

Rules:

- One entry per person.

- A photograph is defined as an image made using a camera or phone camera.

- Screenshots are not allowed.

- Picture has to be made by yourself and can't be just a reproduction of someone's work. If someone else's work is in the picture, there needs to be something extra.

- No manipulation besides basic photo adjustments (contrast, exposure, cropping, color balance, lighting, etc.).

- No text or framing in the photo. A signature/watermark is just fine, but it's preferable if you don't have "O Hai Eye Hav3 T3XT" (or something similar) present in the photo.

- When voting, please don't select your own image. This will ensure fairness.

- You are free to submit an old photo; you don't need to take a new one just for this competition.

- Winner hosts the next contest.

Don't worry, this is something sh20000sh feels strongly about and most of us don't! The person running it gets to do what they choose. I'm beginning to consider a 6 month one just to be awkward...

I think submission deadline is enough for at most two weeks, as already mentioned, it is just my opinion.

Museums are places of learning!

This is the Yale Peabody Museum.

The raptors are Deinonychus antirrhopus, behind them you can see a comparison of ceratopsian skulls, as well as a few other things.

This is me and my cousins learning about my family history. Our ancestor and his 2 brothers came to New Zealand from Devon, England in the 1860's and their paintings are among those on the walls.

I have so many, it was hard to choose. I'm going to go with learning about the periodic table of elements, as I don't think my boss would want me to share the "Professor" picture I took of him.

The Eden Project in Cornwall, UK. I'd say it's one of the best places on Earth to learn about plants and the environment.

Thank you!! It was an exhibit at the Natural History Museum from my trip to Ireland.

I'm with you - I was surprised how long mine took me to find ! (and then I had to scan it; that trip was pre digital camera....) I have - far too many photo albums !)

I phone-camera photographed it as the only scanner I have available to me is at work, and my work days are usually too busy to sneak much private stuff into.
