ANSWERED:AP egg glitch?

Recommended Posts

None of the non-Valentine eggs I bred and dropped off have any views or even seem to have been picked up. They are all around 4d 19hr and the AP is at 5d 2hr. Is there a glitch and is anyone else having this problem? I bred over a 100 eggs. Not sure I want to play anymore if i spend time breeding eggs just for them to die in a void 😕

Could be related to the problem shadowdrake found a few days earlier

Maybe it has to do with the changes TJ made so that the whole AP isn't filled with the same breeder's eggs? IDK

Are you positive they haven't been picked up? Just because they haven't gotten views doesn't necessarily mean they weren't picked up. If you know for sure they aren't on anyone's scroll, it may be the bug posted above.

They will probably show back up once the Valentine ap eggs are gone. I don't think the holiday AP will last another 4 days so your eggs probably won't die.

The holiday APs have been lasting almost a full week after breeding ends the past year or two, so don't count on that. They *should* have shown up in the AP already in the bottom row.

I checked more than ten eggs. Its unusual not see a single view on any of them. Plus not everyone hides their scrolls so i should have seen at least one username above an eggs description.

Thanks, i hope they make it. At least 20 were rares so it would be sad if they died 😅😅

MANY of us hide our names, even when our scrolls aren't hidden.

I just checked a couple that I bred & found a similar situation.

Mine are at around 3ish days.

I also bred my full scroll of Valentine's eggs, so these are possibly queued behind those?

Isnt it the case that, when people grab and drop eggs, it counts as coming from them instead of the original breeder? So you’d think that maybe this would result in eggs showing up?

The fact that it seems extremely prevalent (I think I have this problem too) and they have such a lower time, maybe there is something wrong? I would assume random people grabbing and neglecting but the sheer volume of it seems so odd.

Fuzzbucket ive been playing since 2010. I know something isnt right. I went back and check they still dont have ANY views. None of the eggs I bred. I appreciate your input though.

So have I. That's sad - all mine seem to have grown up just fine....

The AP for regular non-holiday eggs is currently at 5 days 19 hours.  I wonder if they are stuck due to the high AP time.

I had some Valentine pairings that I testbred on the 7th to the AP, none of them were grabbed, I checked on them on the 13th, they were all under 1 day without views, so I added them to a ER (missed one, which died), the others grew up in the wild, so they really were still in the AP (That one also died in the AP https://dragcave.net/lineage/xOCPZ (at least the other one got a owner, because I traded that one))

Ohhhh man.  I hadn't thought about that. So all of the val eggs I have picked up and thrown back are also in my queue in front of my regular breed eggs.

This is getting more ridiculous, the normal egg row is at 7 days now

@Infinis  @SkyWolf25   Can someone please ask TJ about this? It would be helpful to know if this sort of holiday/non-holiday queuing behavior is actually intentional, but even if it is there does seem to be something going on with that last row's times. 8 hours ago it was 4d10 now it's 6d13h??

just checked my eggs that i bred before v-day breeding kicked off, and it seems like they all died in the AP with zero views too, even though they should have *theoretically* shown up in the last row. it does seem like holiday AP per-breeder limit needs to be split between valentine's eggs and regular eggs : (

The regular-egg row is at 3d5h right now. That *should* be impossible given that when I last posted 11 hours ago they were well over 6days.  If this isn't a bug and is actually working as intended I definitely think the queue mechanism needs some re-thinking, eggs should not *die* in a specific user's queue without even making it to the AP despite being way lower timed. This makes no sense to me.

Fully agree with changing this queue mechanism. I bred 0 Valentine but half of my regular bred eggs seems to be affected by this glitch: I guess they were picked up by someone who had a lot of Valentine eggs in the AP and once re-abandoned, counted as this person’s eggs so were sent to the back of the queue to die.

I bet that is what happened. I don't think I can click on any low time regular eggs without sentencing them to die if I throw them back.  🤨

I bred my final holiday pairings at around 12 pm cave time on the 14th. So once those hit the AP and enough get picked up, my regular eggs should start showing up. ... unless I am in the AP hunting holidays and throwing too many back, I guess.

Does this mean none of the common eggs I bred during the last few days will appear on the AP as long as the Valentine wall exists?

I've been hatching and abandoning Valentine eggs, so lots of hatchlings waiting in the AP queue will list me as their last owner. If the problem really is that ALL the valentine eggs count as "currently visible on the AP" and therefore no eggs with the same last owner can appear in the non-holiday row, I guess I'll just continue hatching as many valentines as I can, because removing the holiday wall seems to be the only way to save the commons. Just like in the old times before we got the non-holiday row.
