Now that more people have CB Christmas dragons, including older releases, we aren't always sure what to breed with them. 🤔 Sometimes it's tricky to figure out what holiday pairings to breed, and inspiration helps! ❄️ This is a freeform brainstorming thread for all years of Christmas dragons! Pair them with commons, uncommons, rares, or other holidays. Share your breeding ideas and gather inspiration for nice holiday pairings! Feel free to ask for feedback if you are looking for your perfect pairing. Or feel free to chime in and help us imagine the possibilities! Think of this thread as a giant, infinite whiteboard. This is not a thread for trading or gifting, only for sharing ideas. Let the brainstorming begin! **(While we have individual threads created when a dragon was released, it can be daunting to visit each thread to gather ideas during busy holiday preparations. Posted December 11, 2021 Most members don't like holiday x holiday pairs. I myself have always loved them, even though they are so slow to build up. I'll be sending out Christmas versions of this & this. I'll probably throw out a couple of 4th gen gold x holly combos that should have been a 5th gen by now but isn't thanks to piss-poor breeding over the last year, can't breed a gold for the life of me. I have a few enraged aegis pairs. Enraged with aria. with gaia, with winter seasonal, with terrae & with caligene. Normal aegis with witchlight. I might have a corresponding witchlight sonewhere, but in all honesty I haven't been breeding my pairs as frequently as I used to. I'll probably add to this list later, as it will take forever for me to list everything. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 12, 2021 (edited) @Siliskor, I have done holiday x holiday breedings in the past! They are lovely. I did a Radiant Angel x Mistletoe that is pretty; although I don’t think I made it to 4th gen. I’’m considering Winter or Green for my Enraegis and Red for my Pacified Aegis. Posted December 14, 2021 Mistletoe looks nice with Astaarus and with Pharos as well. Peaceful Aegis and Anagallis is an interesting combo. Snow looks good with a lot: Diamondwing, Aeon, Floret, Blue Fire Gem. Glystere Wyrm x Umbra is surprisingly pretty. Share this post Link to post

The Peaceful Aegis x Anagallis is unexpectedly pretty! ~~~~~~~~~~~ Here are some of the ones I am thinking of, or definitely plan on. I'll try to post some screenshots later. Definite: ❄️ Snow x Yellow Sapphire —Love this pairing! ❄️ Yulebuck x White Striped. ❄️ Rosy-Winged Solstice x Citrine Gemshard -- Wow! Deciding between these pairings: ❄️ Starsinger: Either Crystalline or Winter. I'm leaning toward Crystalline. ❄️ Snow Angel (White winged) x Neotropical is 99% because it's so pretty. Still considering what to pair with: ❄️ Glystere Wyrm -- Mind is blank; I like it with Bolts a lot! ❄️ Wintertide -- I have bred these in the past with Plated Colossus and love this combo. I'll be working to further this combo for generations, but I'm considering new pairing ideas. ❄️ Holly -- One of my all-time favorite dragons. Possibilities: 1. Continue Neotropical line I started with one of them. 2. Mints from Upside Down Mint base (I only have one female though, so I can only breed one of these.) 3. Equinox! This is such a lovely dragon with so many Christmasy dragons it seems. I haven't used it yet in any pairings. (Note: I have already gotten a Holly x Winter line to 4th gen; and I LOVE that line. This year, I want to focus on something green.) I love all of these pairings and can't decide. Think I'm going with Upside Down Mint for one Holly and Equinox for the other. That Aeon x Ribbon Dancer is pretty! I'm leaning toward Royal Crimson or Equinox. I've previously done Wrapping Wing x Mint -- that Red Nebula is quite lovely. Wintertide is lovely with Gold, but I'm thinking a common/uncommon combo would be fun. The Plated Colossus looks so good with Wintertide, it will be hard to top! @Ruffledfeathers that is a pretty Holly combo! @Kiyoura that is pretty! I also saw your Aqua Gemshard pairing; very nice. I know what you mean about them being slow to build up. I’ve decided to focus on non-holiday pairings this year. Your Enraged Aegis pairings are pretty. Although I also have an unexpected weakness for Balloon, Aria, and Equinox. I meant to work up a 4th gen with Deep Sea. Did some mock Garland pairings with Gemshards. Posted December 20, 2022 I've never paid too much attention to holiday breeding or lineages. Just grab pretty eggs out of the AP/catch up from holiday biome if necessary. This year I decided to change that by collecting Holly x Winter, after seeing how pretty of a lineage that is. I really like Wintertide x Gold, too; it looks super majestic.
