The Sadwaste - An Inbred Breeding Project.

Recommended Posts

Hello! I've been wanting to do one of these for a long time, though I've always run into the same problem: What dragon should I use?
Then a few weeks ago it hit me; Sandwaste dragons. They fit with my whole theme (sand/deserts) perfectly.
And only now have I begun to get the first breeding started.

------------------------------------

Here are our two lovely candidates for the start of this lineage!
https://dragcave.net/images/azm8.png The girl herself, the Mother of Mistakes! She'll be the one doing the main inbreeding. We can call her MoM!

https://dragcave.net/images/hz39.png And her first lovely mate, the Father of Follies! He's here to start this whole thing.

I will be gendering each egg to be Male, so we can continue the lineage that way, and have a crazy mess of a stairstep.

------------------------------------

Our first (official) breeding: Jan. 4, 2022 with the code ikVw3

Congratulations on your new dragon baby! I love the sounds of your idea. I always kinda get sad when folks talk about not willing to consider a hatchie if it is inbred etc. Do you have plans on this being a inclusive project or? (I have never done one have got a couple I am considering but) I don't really know all the ins and outs of these things. How many generations are you planning for? Am very curious to see how your breeding project goes!

I'm going for as many generations as possible. Regarding them being inclusive, if there are any dragons that fail with MoM, I'll post them here if anyone wants one to try and continue their lineage themselves. MoM and FoF have actually been bred three times, ikVw3 was the third to come from them. The first was me seeing if they were compatible and liked each other, and the child ended up being sent off to the AP.

I just find the fact that you *can* inbreed the dragons hilarious. You just see the name more than once, and it becomes a little scavenger hunt to see how many times you can find them in the lineage.

I may try to also do a spiral lineage, alternating with who I breed with the offspring. That will be a fun challenge.

Will it only be Sandwaste dragons you bred with or will you include some of the other dragons on your scroll? Will you possibly include other babies from other folks Sandwaste dragons? This could become quite a large lineage considering interbreeding is allowed you could have it go on for quite some time! ;)

It's only going to be Sandwaste dragons (unless someone else starts a lineage with another species), and I'm only going to be using my own, so its just one big staircase.

nods depending on how many you already have you can still make it quite a huge staircase lineage. I bet it is going to be awesome!!!

Sooo... I accidentally used Earthquake while one of the kids was still growing...

I've rebred! We have a new (and fully grown) candidate who will start us off. In two days, they'll be able to breed.

Naming is my favorite part of it! I use a lot of ancestry names from my husbands and my ancestry trees, but also fav books, songs, or depending of the dragon other languages to describe etc. Like I said I LOVE dong the naming part! (Though you would have trouble telling it right now I have 2 page worth of dragons that need names) It kinda snuck up on me~

🤪
