Welcome to the Photography Contest!

Welcome back for another round of the DC Photography contest, come and show us what you've got!

This time, the theme is: Clock/watch

Take a photo of stuff that displays time! Here's my example.

Submission deadline: December 18

Voting deadline: December 25

Submissions:

Rules:

- One entry per person.

- A photograph is defined as an image made using a camera or phone camera.

- Screenshots are not allowed.

- Picture has to be made by yourself and can't be just a reproduction of someone's work. If someone else's work is in the picture, there needs to be something extra.

- No manipulation besides basic photo adjustments (contrast, exposure, cropping, color balance, lighting, etc.).

- No text or framing in the photo. A signature/watermark is just fine, but it's preferable if you don't have "O Hai Eye Hav3 T3XT" (or something similar) present in the photo.

- When voting, please don't select your own image. This will ensure fairness.

- You are free to submit an old photo; you don't need to take a new one just for this competition.

- Winner hosts the next contest.

Here's a contemporary - the Prague Astronomical Clock from 1410.

By the way, how do I turn a picture into a hidden image? I assume it works with this function, but how do I get a picture in here?

Is there a way to hide the image while posting it, if you're uploading from a computer? When I attach an image, it shows up in a little box below the text box and I can't do anything with it until I submit the comment. Then I go back and edit my comment and put the image under a spoiler tag the way Fuzzbucket explained. I hope I'm not just missing something obvious, but it would be nice if there were a simple way to do it without the workaround!

The way I do is uploading to picture on a website (like imgur) and then copy the share link for forum, put the spoiler and paste the link into the spoiler field.

I've done it that way but I'm lazy and wanted to skip using an image hosting site.

I hit the spoiler before I post....

Is it really that simple? Now I feel silly. Here's a test picture of a sunset (not my entry, no clocks here!)

Edit: Well that didn't work... (Hiding the image now). Do you hit the spoiler before or after attaching your image?

Another test...

Edit: That didn't work either... And my posts merged... Seems like posts shouldn't merge if they'll put you over the attachment space limit, but that's alright, it was just a test.

I saw there were some discussions, if I read correct, you should do was hit the spoiler before post and insert image while your cursor is in spoiler area.

For me, image hosting source is basically my computer, so I just copy my link.

As entries I saw were classic stuff, I post some example of bit modern one. Obviously it is not part of contest as I'm host.

I believe I tried it that way, but let me try again. When you say you're copying a link, but hosting on your computer, do you mean uploading a file, or using another site like Imgur and using that link? I also wonder if it's my browser; I'm using Firefox.

Edit: Still didn't work, moved the picture under a spoiler. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's alright, my edit workaround is easy. I appreciate everyone's help though!

I use my own site, which I made in my computer. You may saw those during my bingo. XD https://shzksh.co.kr

Ooh, got it. I've been using the uploader attached to the text box, and it just adds the picture to the end of the comment, regardless of where the blinking text cursor thing is in my comment.

So - @Fly-by-Night is the winner. Many congratulations. I want to go to Prague now !

Thank you! I'm sure Prague is lovely in winter, too. I was there in July or August.

Now I will have to think of a topic for the new contest and open my first thread here.
