Hi there! I'm a little late to the party... does anyone know how to hatch a Black Shumoga?

Earthquake or kill.

Gotcha, thanks! And whoah, kill... just tried it for the first time because I ran out of EQs. Disturbing text. No successes, unfortunately. :'D

:( After working myself up to EQ so I could get a skittish set of Shumoga (sp?) dragon, I wound up killing one, but the rest survived & all turned skittish (I had to EQ twice as some eggs were unaffected). I really don't like this method of hatching. XD Interestingly, my NR Pyro eggs all hatched with no issues. XD I'll grab some more & try again & see if if I can make myself at least 3 pairs just for scroll completion. XD I really hope we don't get too many other dragons like this as it's too nerve-wracking to make them & I don't have the right "currency" to trade for them.

And all of those pretty much make sense to me except the Amaringis. Orange? Boo.  Why not purple?

Okay, if y'all jump on me or the artist for sharing this, I'm done helping. Just a heads-up.

From the artist: "do keep in mind the amarignis flames arent regular flames; they are more magic that manifests itself as flames"

Hmm, another one that doesn't make sense. Maybe these are just some of the usual hiccups that come with the more complicated or color-changing breeds shortly after their debut. We had similar glitches with the new Florets, for example.

Artist said they are working as designed.

I have a feeling that Waterhorses might extinguish a Pyropellis. I'll see if I can test that and the Luminae when my dudes grow up :)

My oldest ones won't grow up until mid-morning tomorrow. *sigh*
Also about to go offline because Thursday is my weekly ladies' night out. I'll catch up later tonight, so anybody who does have pyropellis adults grow up, please post any breeding experiment results and I'll update and repost my chart.

So the fire backed dragons changing color depending on their mates is interesting. It would be really neat if they kept their color semi-permanently until they breed with something else.

I hope the Pyropellis keep the color they gained from their first breeding. Maybe there'd be a "Extinguish" BSA for when you want to change its flame. Though then you'd end up with flameless alts instead of the default

Whoop, Whoop! Just used EQ and both eggs did not die and the babies are mine...just hope it worked...I decided to try for a Skittish and a Green Cantor and success!

All the adults from both breeds are simply gorgeous!  Wowwww! I love both the black and the white Shumoga dragons; they are so elegant and will look awesome in so many lineages! The Pyropellis are marvelous as well! ❤️ I do wish we had one with white flames :iraptor:🔥 :P Love the “bald” one, too!

I kinda hope the Pyro CB colors are permanent with some option to switch them to different colors if we choose, kinda like the Aegis. We’ll see!

Congrats, @Infinis and @Dohaerys!

aw man, I've got three Shumogas that I wanna EQ, but I also have three Silvers that are sick and I can't take out of fog to have someone hold for me while I fire up the egg wiggler

And the Shumogas are under 4 days so if I take THEM out of fog to kill action them they'll just hatch 😂😭

@Stromboli I can’t remember— if you Ward your Silver eggs and then teleport them for someone to hold while you EQ, will they keep their Ward after teleporting? (Hopefully you removed them from all hatcheries prior to fogging.)  I wonder if Ward can help you out here.

So when is it best to try to EQ or Kill? Right away after they are caught feom the biome or when they have a stage 5 hole or what. So far I have had no success with either method and it killed or left them unaffected. 😕

It's almost never going to work with fresh eggs, since you are trying to force them to hatch they need to be at least a little bit ready to hatch, meaning lower time and at least cracking a bit. There is a lot of randomness and luck involved, but the biggest chances for success are with near-hatching-time with a large hole.

So far, the general consensus for best chances are waiting until at least 24 hours (most prefer ERable/almost ERable) and has at least a crack if not a large hole; anything less seems to have a higher kill chance. Even then, it's still based on luck and there are no guarantees.

I'm a bit late but I has question. Do the new dragons with the different colored flames keep their flame color after being bred? Or will they revert to a base sprite like the Lumina's do?

We don't know yet, users just started getting adults yesterday so it remains to be seen if the color is temporary or not, or if it changes with each breeding, or what.

I'm thinking they can change every breeding simply because there are probably a lot of ineligible dragons, so it's probably neither a "first breeding only" nor "first change from orange" situation because both would skew the population, either towards orange or away from orange. But, we'll see in a week.

The lore makes more sense if they change color every time they breed with a color-changing mate, but I would prefer that they don't for lineage reasons. Time will tell!

I feel like population-skewing doesn't really matter in these situations, when users can deliberately make the specific flame-variants anytime they want just by breeding them. It's not like other breeds where ratios are involved. But I guess we'll see in a week... If they can change every breeding they will just be yet another breed I'll collect but never breed except the first breeding to get the color I want on each. Although I think 'temporary like shed Luminae' may still be a possibility?
