Posted September 9, 2021 (edited) Today I did probably my last batch of Shumogas since there's clearly not much point: 7 eggs between 4-5 days with big holes, except one which was at 5d 23h and s2 cracking. 2 successes, 4 deaths including the higher time one, 1 unaffected after 5 EQs (I ran out of greens then and someone very kindly tried a 6th EQ for me, but that last one was still unaffected). Can't believe that's my most successful run so far lol, I was rocking a 3/21 hatch rate previously, and one of those 3 escaped too. It blows my mind when people have so many of them hatch successfully. Edited September 9, 2021 by MissK. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 9, 2021 (edited) @MissK. In my case, practically *all* eggs with a large hole (S5) died, too (almost two dozen by now). It appears that S3 was the most successful stage for me so far. Edited September 9, 2021 by Astreya Share this post Link to post
Posted September 9, 2021 (edited) Well, that was fun. 5/6 killed, 1 unaffected after 7 tries. They were between 3d,4h and 4d,19h. All had stage 5 cracks. I'll try the last one again later -- it is one of the ones that was at 4d,19h. I don't hold out much hope for it. Edit: And my 8th EQ attempt just killed the 6th egg. Thought I would wait until after midnight to see if my luck changed, but it didn't. Edited September 10, 2021 by purplehaze Share this post Link to post
Posted September 10, 2021 I had my first successful EQ'ing earlier today! Five Shumoga eggs (all from the Desert). Time (not that I can imagine it has anything to do with it) circa 2:00 a.m. Cave Time (7:00 a.m. UK) Influenced all or them, but didn't incubate or anything else. All were at 5D 5H. Views between: 2,140 & 2,264 UVs between 565 & 584 1st EQ Two hatched & caught. The other three were unaffected. 2nd EQ Two hatched & caught. The remaining one was unaffected. 3rd EQ One hatched & caught. All were Skittish hatchlings. Result: One very happy player Share this post Link to post
Posted September 10, 2021 Tried EQ on a Shumoga egg (4d 13 h left, non incubated, big hole) : it was uneffected by 7 (!) EQs in a row, and the 8th one killed it 😭 Share this post Link to post

Posted September 11, 2021 (edited) Shumoga Batch ONE killed 1 hatched and caught 7 batch TWO killed 6 hatched 0 Batch THREE killed 0 hatched and caught 6 Batch FOUR killed 1 hatched and caught 3 Generally it took half as many green dragons as eggs to 'affect' all eggs, ie 4 eq attempts to hatch or kill 8 eggs. Time for eggs was between 3d 20hr and 4d 2h Views between 975 and 4k Crack Stages between 2 and 4 on successful hatches, and stage 5 all resulted in death. Posted September 11, 2021 According to @Dalek's post in the release thread for the Shumogas Infi does recognise that earthquaking is not for everyone but she does have a guide to earthquaking properly. And where exactly can one find that guide? Because it certainly doesn't seem that there is any agreement in this thread about the "proper" way to do this. Results seem to be all over the place. Is anyone tallying the results to see what may really work best? I don't have time or energy to go through all the posts. It is very discouraging. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 11, 2021 (edited) The "guide" is this thread we're in, supposedly. It is my guess that the original post is updated periodically with new findings. Edited September 11, 2021 by 0x08 Share this post Link to post
Posted September 11, 2021 Couple recent ones of mine (all Shumoga, except one killed egg on September 2, which was a Cantormaris): August 25 - wave 1: 2 unaffected. August 30 - wave 1: 2 hatched. September 2 - wave 1: 2 hatched, 2 killed, 1 unaffected. - wave 2: 1 unaffected. - wave 3: 1 hatched. September 8 - wave 1: 5 unaffected, 1 dead. - wave 2: 2 unaffected, 3 dead. - wave 3: 2 dead. In all cases, time was under 4d 12h, the eggs had big holes. Share this post Link to post

Posted September 11, 2021 I was impatient because I wanted to accept a gift but didn't have slot Not Shumonga though. The only unaffected one was one with no stat and 6 days 13 hours left. The rest were all around 5 days 2 hours (some 1 hours, some 3, some 4 (which was why I went to use EQ instead of just incubate them)) left with big holes. qMoVE was at s3, and at a higher time (5 days 15 ish hours). I can't believe everything I wanted to hatch hatched!! Share this post Link to post
Posted September 12, 2021 Well, after my success last time, I traded for two Shumoga eggs with 4d1h left and a big S5 hole. Six EQs later, both are sadly dead Share this post Link to post
Posted September 12, 2021 (edited) My second try for CB wild shumogas resulted in 3/5 dead, 2/5 unaffected. Three with around 2 days, 12 hours and two with 3 days, 12 hours, all had S5 cracking and were fogged. I got exactly the same result on my first try two weeks ago, except this time I waited a bit longer and also had two more green dragons to EQ with, six in total. I am not very happy now. At least the surviving eggs were those whose codes I liked best. Should I feel lucky? I still hope I could get even one CB pair of these but I'm certainly not planning any lineages with them. I really, really don't want to sound offensive to anyone but I hate all this killing dragons, and the information on how to EQ "properly" seems so confusing and inconsisted to someone who never did this just for... fun? Posted September 12, 2021 I give up. I have killed a total of 16 eggs by earthquake and had to hatch 9 more unaffected ones because they were still alive and unhatched after I had used all of my Greens. Not a single one hatched. All of these eggs had a large hole and were below 5d, most below 4d even without Incubate. When I'm more active again, I'll try to trade for Wild Shumogas, but I see absolutely no point in wasting my egg and kill slots any longer for these useless attempts. If they only worked like the Cantors, but this is far too frustrating... Share this post Link to post
Posted September 12, 2021 You guys are braver than me lol. I stopped using Earthquake ages ago because every time I did, nearly all my eggs would die Based on the most recent data, what are the stats of hatching/dying/etc? Share this post Link to post

To be honest, I doubt the biome does have any affect, I just thought I'd mention it. Given the wide range of successful EQs I really wonder if there is a method or if it is all down to chance. Posted September 13, 2021 all shumoga eggs eggs 1 and 3 were unaffected for 2 rounds before finally hatching on round 3. all were caught. these are the same results as what i got yesterday with 5 other shumoga eggs, with all those eggs in a similar timeframe (all between 4d0 and 4d20) and at s3 cracks (the ones yesterday were all incu'd, and only one was sick at the time of eq). been having really good results with this strategy. Posted September 14, 2021 (edited) My poor Shumogas keep not hatching from Earthquakes! So I have come here to hopefully get help and ideas. All CB Shumogas from both biomes. First earthquake killed one younger and one older egg. Second earthquake killed all of the rest. 😭 Egg #: 1 Time Remaining: 4d11 Crack Stage: s5 Sick?: no Incu?: no Result: killed Egg #: 2 Time Remaining: 4d11 Crack Stage: s5 Sick?: no Incu?: no Result: killed Egg #: 3 Time Remaining: 4d11 Crack Stage: s5 Sick?: no Incu?: no Result: killed Egg #: 4 Time Remaining: 4d1 Crack Stage: s5 Sick?: yes Incu?: yes Result: killed Egg #: 5 Time Remaining: 4d1 Crack Stage: s5 Sick?: yes Incu?: yes Result: killed Egg #: 6 Time Remaining: 4d1 Crack Stage: s5 Sick?: yes Incu?: yes Result: killed Edit to add my final result of the batch: Egg #: 7 Time Remaining: 5d10 Crack Stage: s3 Sick?: no Incu?: no Result: hatched and caught FINALLY!!! I think the comment I saw on here of the S3 crack being the best shot seems accurate. I’ve had about two rounds of CB Shumogas before this one and they all were the S5 crack and they all died.
