How likely is it that for each and every player, there's another player making the choice at the exact same time, all through the day? Your ideas sound like a lot of fun! I love April Fool's jokes that mess with the functionality of the site but have no other purpose. So the game could potentially start with one dummy choice, then the first player is matched with that, then the rest are matched to the pool of those who've already made their choice.
