Make upside down mints available in the market/cave on April Fools Day

Recommended Posts

Just as how the title states. Make them as expensive as golds/stats or just like a 100 shards. Idc.

Just would be nice to have another way to get them even if it means you have to wait a whole year saving up shards to get one.

Have the biome listed as cave or market for these coming from the market. Doesn't matter which to me.

Make them tradable or untradeable. Doesn't matter to me.

Just have them be available for people who have bad luck. Just like with the golds, stats and other rares.

Why is this good for the game? It helps bring another "exclusive" to the majority of players who wish to have them. Just like with golds/stats and other rares. Mints are already a common dragon so it should not affect the ratios that much or just a negligible amount.

Hell put them in the cave too on april fools. Random chance that a mint egg you pick up from the biomes is upside down.

What do y'all think? Oh and if there is a previous thread about this that is still open, then I'm sorry but I have not seen it.

It's just a game, but it's also a way to make April Fools Day special.  Why ruin it for the rest of us?   I don't support support the idea.

BTW, I've never been lucky myself, but I've found some nicely bred second and third generations from them in the AP.  I consider them pretty special too. :D

ruin? its just a game how does other people getting a dragon ruin it for you? Also please do not speak for anyone else but yourself.

Sounds like you just want it to remain "special" and "exclusive". Something similar to the people who were upset when cb prize dragons came back in raffles.

I have nothing against you or your opinion but as it stands I see no merit for it being good for the game. I am sorry if this comes off as blunt but it feels as if you are just playing the devils advocate for the sake of doing so. You used very harsh language to speak for your own personal opinion while also insinuating that it is how the majority of the player base feels which is incorrect.

I would appreciate if all comments in this topic were to remain calm and rational using peaceful language instead of violent and emotional with deliberate hostile language. Thank you.

If you stalk the ap people toss the upside down eggs there. I don't remember if they show up upside down in the ap or not.

That is true but it would be nice not to depend on the goodwill of others. Plus what if no one decides to toss an upside in the ap? You can't force other players to do so.

I dunno how I feel about having them available in the market, but having a small chance that any mint you pick up in the cave could flip would be really fun IMO!  It'd still keep upside down mints special while making them a slight bit more accessible to those of us who are unlucky :D

If I understand correctly, I think they would only be available in the Market on April Fool's, same as the rest of the site, right?

I don't have any yet, only descendants, and I am hoping to catch what I can, but this is a good alternative because coming up empty handed while everyone else gets theirs really hurts.

I wouldn't mind this. It means people who get unlucky don't have to wait a full year to get another 1/3 chance, which I'm all for.

As long as they are *only* available on April Fool's Day, to keep their uniqueness and purpose, I don't care that much either way. I do kind of see them more as a 'joke breed/sprite', they are attached to a game only available one day a year, they aren't really meant to be something available in a 'normal' way like the cave or Market. I would rather they remain that way, personally, but I don't have strong feelings either way.

I'm with HeatherMarie. They really shouldn't be available as a free-for-all all year - like holiday dragons, they should be tied to their event. (WERE holidays in the market ? As one who has my limit of them all, I never looked...)

On the fence here...I had luck in 2019 and got my first and only upside down mint.

On the one hand- We can have more upside-down starters in lineages and It allows everyone an upside-down to continue/start lineages.

On the other hand - upside-down mints only show as such in certain places [think its limited to the view page only] and you don't know it's an upside-down until you click in a lineage.

If they were added to the Market, I'd agree they need to be limited to a single day - and maybe restricted to one per person on purchasing them [keep in line with the current 'one egg only' deal...though this would in theory give some two in one year]

I wouldn't mind them being in Market for normal Mint price on April Fool Day's only. It keeps their specialness but helps out those with the bad luck streak to not be able to get them in the game or who don't have the speed required to snipe them in the AP. Yes, they do show up upside-down in the AP but they fly fast specifically because they show up that way.

Also speaking as someone who has only gotten one since the event began in 2017 (the year I joined, on that day actually) and does not have the speed to obtain them in the AP.

Support.

Of course, only AFTER you've been through that year's Dragon Dilemma!

(just for the joke side of it)

Why has everything to be available to everyone in an easy way? Take the challenge, play the game!

You CAN get them on 1st April. You just have to choose wisely which option you take paired with a little bit of luck.

There is no wise when only one option gives you the egg! You just click and hope another user didn't read the instructions/is newbie and gets eaten instead of you ...so basically you just hope someone else gets that year's disapointment...quite cruel tbh (Honestly I'm surprised we still get them since majority of players want them so we choose the same option and we should all be eaten)

When 'badluck' extends to 3-4 YEARS, is not bad luck, is bad mechanic!

Support. The 1/year chance is ridiculosly low...you have a prize chance more often!

Counting on AP is also a bad argument...you do realise some play from some remote town with crapy internet? We don't need more of the IRL unfairness and privilege in the game! Leave them this pixel world joy.

I agree. Make them available only on April 1st (but that was also the OP intend, so we're clear on that one)

Personally I don't care in which way, cave or market, but even though cave would be more fun (like finding a shiny) keep in mind commons apear in cave way less than they should because of the total number of species (known issue) and this option might still carry the internet speed issue.

I'd like to see the cave having ONLY mints (normal but whith chance on uppside) on April 1st! It adds to the prank, it desrupts people's gameplay for just 1 day and gives a lot more chances to unlucky/slow

Now market option is another issue, if you make it expensive (and ofc you don't announce this before the event) people might've just spend the shards on a Gold on March 30.... that just adds to the frustration and heartbreak...I don't really like this... and it will be a matter of pay-to-win wich I dislike!

If you make them cheap, you must limit it to 1 (per year or per account?). On one hand, it takes away from the exclusivity but on the other, you make people happy on a pixel game, they were never intended to be more than a joke, and you still gaet them only 1/year

(Just please don't make it a random chance in the market! Nobody wants to spend hundreds of shards with no guarantee they'll get the special and is the worst pay-to-win)

Actually, it's luck. You aren't playing against other people you are playing against a dice roll. Which is why people continue to get them dispite everyone knowing the trick.

Support. Though I'd support MORE if they would show upside down in lineages. Its just not nearly as much fun to collect them otherwise.

Really?! I didn't know that!

"The Rules
You've been paired with a random user. Both of you are presented with the same choice: Blame the other person, or say nothing."

I rightfully assumed you played against another user! (On my 1st year I actually choose to not lie so the other user won't get eaten, I felt bad for them)

Well... I guess is not 'cruel' then XD but I maintain my opinion on YEARS of bad luck :)

Has that actually ever been confirmed, or is it just a guess?

I think getting a random Fool's Mint every, say, 11 normal Mints from the Biome on April 1st could be a nice addition to the Dragon's Dilemma. I got only one single Fool's Mint ever since they were available as the dragons preferred to eat me instead, but I still managed to get numerous cool Fool's Mint lineages just by trading. I don't think they should be available generally at the Market as Fool's Mints should be tied to April 1st, or they wouldn't really make much sense to me.

I just noticed that the request was making them available on the Market on April 1st only (reading properly can be an asset). I think that would only give bad blood, too, as then people would likely complain about the price or everything.

Eh, don't they always? Not changing anything for fear of complaints won't get anywhere.

@Ruby Eyes

True, too. But I wonder what price would be appropriate in the Market? If you say "100", then the elitists would cry because they'd be too easy to get, and if you put them at, say, 3000 Shards, then people would scream because they just used their Shards for whatever and now can't buy one anyway...

Personally, I think 111 would be good. Just to get *everyone* screaming. It is for April Fool's after all.
