THIS LINEAGE IS PENDING, BUT FEEL FREE TO REQUEST EGGS IN ADVANCE.

Intro

A long time ago the clans lived in harmony. But now they jockey for superiority among themselves. The war rages and each clan fields warriors to pull power towards them. In the midst of the war raging in the land of Teremore, all must pledge loyalty to one clan or another or face five foes instead of four.

 

Rules

A clan member must obey the following rules. Any who disobey these rules three times are banished from their clan and their names written on the Black Wall. Since all clans follow the Code, those whose members break these rules are looked down upon for raising their children poorly.

  • Do not slay one of your clan kin. (Don't kill or abandon any clan dragons.)
  • The Queen Mother is a member of all clans. (I'm the queen mother since I raised the Lords and Ladies of all the clans, and thus are a member of every clan.)
  • Young must carry the name of their clan. (Clan dragons must be named in the format _______ of Clan ________.)
  • Remain faithful in courtship. (A clan dragon cannot breed with any other dragon aside from their mate after successfully laying an egg with them.)
  • Breed only with pure Clan blood. (Clan dragons can only breed with another clan dragon or a CB.)
  • The word of the Lord and Lady is law. (What did you think that meant? In all seriousness it means don't try to break these rules, ask for exceptions or whine that you're last on the breed list from one of the clan breeding pairs or something like that. I will put you on the Black Wall.)
  • Those listed on the Black Wall are silent to all true clansmates. (People on the blacklist cannot participate and will be ignored.)
  • News must always be presented truthfully and swiftly to the Lord and Lady. (Announcements must be made as soon as possible.)

Score:

A clan has a score which is modified by the following events.

+5 for taking a mate

+3 for joining a clan

+2 for raising a hatchling to adulthood

+2 for gifting an egg to a clansmate

+1 for hatching an egg

+1 for raising a CB

+1 for inducting a new member(stacks with joining a clan)

+1 for donating graphics

 

-10 for breaking a clan rule, second offense

-5 for breaking a clan rule, first offense

-5 for not reporting a rule breakage

-2 for trading or gifting clan young to the Clanless

-2 for having an egg die accidentally (sickness/earthquake/forcing)

-1 for freezing a clan hatchling

-1 for biting a clan egg

 

Lost Lumina

The Lost Lumina were stolen from Clan Luminous's royal hatchery. Clan Luminous's warriors still search for the two young hatchlings(probably now grown), a Dark Lumina and a Guardian. In addition, Meerk had a short dalliance with an unknown Guardian, resulting in a Lost Lumina Guardian egg as she discarded the egg as soon as possible to hide the evidence. Any Human with a hatchling or egg descendant of one of the Lost Lumina should return them to a Clan Luminous member if possible. The Lost Lumina and their descendants themselves are considered full members of Clan Luminous.

Clan Highhaven

Green/Black

Clan Highhaven is a proud clan. They are often vicious and brutal, and they endlessly prepare for war. Most of their offspring are forced from the shell early, and those who hatched on their own are viewed as pampered. Still, they present a unified front to their foes.

Bonus: +2 score for forced eggs that survive. No penalty from forced eggs that die. Unforced eggs gain no score until they grow up, then earn score as normal.

 

Clan Luminous

Guardian/Lumina

Clan Luminous see the other clans as children in need of guidance from their bloodthirsty ways. Clan Luminous sees the bringing of new life as the highest aspiration, and sees potentially killing an egg as despicable beyond all else. They are quite disorganized due to their mutual respect for each other, although all of them bend to the Lord and Lady.

Bonus: +2 score for each egg laid through breeding. -5 for forcing an egg instead of -2.

 

Clan Thunderwitch 5

Electric/Magi

Clan Thunderwitch is vain and superior. They view their supernatural abilities as making them superior to all other dragons. Clan Thunderwitch glories in lineage length, and value pure Electric and Magi blood.

Bonus: +2 score whenever a new generation is reached. No score gain for taking a mate that is not Thunderwitch-bred or CB Electric or Magi.

Chaosdawn(Favored): 1

 

Clan Hailhaze

Frostbite/White

Clan Hailhaze is a clan of pure ice. Even the Whites in the clan do not care for non-Hailhazes, although they still avoid violence, preferring subtle disdain for non-Hailhaze mates, although they stand them. Females are valued most in the clan.

Bonus: +3 for raising a hatchling that genders female instead of +2. Only +1 for raising a hatchling that genders male.

 

Clan Tiderunner 17

Aqualis/Red-finned Tidal

Clan Tiderunner see the land-bound clans as strange. To them, the sea is the only place worth living. They do have small islands where land-bound mates and offspring can dwell, but those that cannot survive under the waves are disdained by them.

Bonus: +7 for taking a water-dwelling mate(Water, Deep Sea, Aqualis, Amalthean, Two-Finned Bluna, Bolt, Lacula, Stratos, Striped River, Tsunami Wyvern, Waterwalker, Waterhorse, Red-finned Tidal, Cantormaris, Glystere, Rift Wyrm, Sapo or Xol ) instead of +5, but only +1 for raising a land-dwelling hatchling.

FAQ

Q: If I pair dragons from two clans together, which clan does the baby belong to?

A: The baby belongs to the clan that it's species is a part of. A Electric dragon will belong to Clan Thunderwitch even if one parent is a Lumina of Clan Luminous, for example. The clan description contains info on the breeds that belong to each clan. Dragons not of your clan don't give points to anyone. If they are a breed not of either clan the mother's clan takes precedence.

 

Q: Can I be a part of multiple clans?

A: You can request a egg from any clan as a mate for a dragon, but your clan doesn't get score for it hatching or growing up. You can only join one clan fully. You will always be at the bottom of the list for requesting a dragon not of your clan, and anyone of that clan that requests a egg from the same pair will automatically go ahead of you.

 

Q: Can I switch clans?

A: No. First, clan membership is a lifetime thing in-universe. Second, you'd have a bunch of dragons that don't give points and I'd have to recalculate scores and stuff if I said you couldn't move your dragons. Third, if I said you could move your dragons between clans, either I'd have to remove points from one clan and give them to another, which would be unfair, or give both clans points from the dragons, which would open potential for abuse. Fourth, my brain would hurt recalculating scores and renaming dragons and keeping track of the modifications and which dragons are part of another clan despite being direct descendants of the Lords and Ladies.

 

Q: Can I use a bred dragon not of the lineage as a mate for a clan dragon?

A: No, they have to be clan or CB. The breed doesn't matter though.

 

Q: Can I use a pre-existing adult CB as a mate for a clan dragon?

A: Yes, but only if the dragon doesn't already have children. 

 

Q: What titles can I use for my dragon?

A: Good question. Dragons with no outside blood(ie, no CBs of other breeds or dragons from other clans as ancestors) can use the titles Pureblood or Pureblooded. CBs that are the mates of a clan dragon may use the title Consort. All adult dragons can use the titles Clan Warrior, Clan Elder, Clan Hunter and Clan Guard. Female adult dragons can use the title Clan Mother. Male adult dragons can use the title Clan Father. Hatchlings cannot have any titles aside from Pureblood or Pureblooded. Dragons can only have one title. Lady, Lord, Favored Son/Daughter, Clan Seer, Clan Healer, Lieutenant and Honor Guard are reserved for admin granting. If you would like your dragon to have a title, the title can be listed on the form when they grow up. Titles do not have to be included in the name(you'd run out of characters), but they will be included in all official listing except their in-cave name.

 

Q: How can I get a dragon granted a title?

A: If your dragon has a satisfactory backstory, I may be deigned to message you and tell you that the dragon is allowed to use a title of my choice.

 

Q: Can I be a breeder?

A: If you can prove that you have two suitable dragons of the same clan I can register your breeding pair in your clan. I will also add more breeding pairs and even clans periodically.

The War

The first clan to reach 10 battle score wins the current battle. At the end of a battle the winning clan's members each recieve a CB or 2nd gen egg from my scroll. I will breed a Labradorite, Xol, Astaarus, Monarch, Hellfire, Nebula, Equinox or Sunstone as soon as I can, or find a uncommon or rare CB for each member. Alternately, you can have a CB Guardian, Black, Electric, White or Water(depending on your clan) as your gift egg, or a egg from a breeding pair of your clan. Eggs will be shipped as soon as possible. I will not hatch eggs for you.

 

+1 battle score per egg hatched. +2 if Luminous, no score if land-bound and Tiderunner, +2 if forced and Highhaven

+1 battle score per hatchling grown. +2 if female and Hailhaze, no score if land-bound and Tiderunner

+1 battle score if you are the largest clan.

+1 battle score for every 20 points of non-battle score.

+1 if Thunderwitch

 

In addition, battle score can be gained by each member once per battle. This involves sending one warrior out. They gain battle score based on several criteria, such as pureblood status, breed, battle environment and how many members sent warriors. The warrior cannot breed for the duration of the battle.

If a dragon is labeled NO STOCK then there are no eggs or hatchlings of that type that can be sent immediately. They can still be ordered, however you may need to wait up to three weeks if the wrong species is produced. Those labeled COOLDOWN have no dragons of the type available for breeding. You will need to wait up to three weeks for an egg to be available. Eggs will be sent if no hatchlings are immediately available.

May I suggest something? If I can, then I suggest that Thalassa and Aso Xenowyrms should count as water-dwelling mates. It specifically says in their breed descriptions that they live in water. I understand if you refuse this, it'd be cool if you accepted it, though. I have an childless CB Thalassa that I'd like to breed with a Tiderunner :).
Question 1: How are purebloods obtained? Are they inbred (at least one ancestor shows up at least twice in the lineage) or something?
Question 2: Must CBs bred with clan dragons be named accordingly? (for example, if I bred a CB Black to a White from Clan Luminous, do I have to name the Black <name> of Clan Luminous?)

I can't add only two sub-breeds because Xenowyrms produce random eggs. 

Question 1: Purebloods mean no ancestors not descended from the Lord and Lady pair of their clan. It's in the rules. That also means no CBs, so they will probably be inbred.

Question 2: Please note that Clan Luminous does not contain whites, that's Clan Hailhaze. Yes, CB mates must be named as clan members. They are also treated as clan members.

Whites can technically be part of the luminous lineage because it's possible to breed clan dragons with any breed of clan dragon or CB, but I get what you mean.

The Xenowyrm reasoning is also valid.

I'll request an egg (if that's what I'm supposed to do) after Christmas week is over.

Okay. One little problem- I have not been able to obtain a water or deep sea.  So I am going to do Aqualis-Red-finned Tidal.

Tomorrow you will have Tiderunner hatchie. Egglocked right now.

Please note ChickpeaHummus that that egg is not considered Tiderunner. This is because I was stupid and did not send you the clan egg. However, I am willing to say that it will count as a CB mate.

 I'm so sorry! Do I have to report growing CBs when they get stolen, hatched, and grown up in order for them to become clan members?
