Not to bad of ratios, we will see how it continues ^^ Apparently I just had to threaten them with trading, the two eggs hatched blue so now a 2:3 ratio for the Alcedines. I love all the extra artwork! 💗💗 The pygmies are super cute, they ended up as my wallpaper ^^ Edited May 30, 2020 by Pliskin Share this post Link to post

I have 3 purebred pargulus babies: Alpine blue X Coast blue had a blue baby Desert green X Desert green had a green baby Volcano red X Volcano red had a green baby So I'm thinking the babies are random color. Any one else? We may need to keep track of these... I'm too lazy to make a spreadsheet. Share this post Link to post

Any one else? We may need to keep track of these... I'm too lazy to make a spreadsheet. I've not done any breeding myself, but I'm watching the hatcheries for bred Pargulus eggs and hatchies. I've observed 3 mixed Pargulus / non pargulus pairs so far, and the hatchling has matched at least one of the parent's biome. I'm currently thinking it's a bit like Xenos where the biome / color of the parent influences the offspring, but there is a change for random. Need more examples though! Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2020 Bred my first set of Pargulus, Blue x Pipio. It gave me a green. Welp, we shall see how my lineage project shall go and how long it takes! Share this post Link to post

Any one else? We may need to keep track of these... I'm too lazy to make a spreadsheet. Well I did some hatchery surfing and made a list on paper. There aren't many bred ones hatched yet so it's still a small sample: Coast Pargulus X Coast Pargulus = Blue Pipio Desert X Volcano Pargulas = Green Pipio Volcano X Alpine Pargulus =Green Coast Pargulus X Pumpkin Cave = Blue Volcano Pargulus X Alpine Pargulus =Red So now it's looking more like parental biome/color is major factor, with random oddball( example of the two Volcano Pargulus producing a green). Also I sure the market will give totally random color for now. Share this post Link to post

Well, I hope not, because if they do it means I have 3 more blues -- which means 11 blues/0 reds for my scroll. I have traded and been gifted some red ones, but none have hatched on my scroll, yet. They're common, aren't they? But waiting 2 days for eggs to hatch with the chance of 8 blues is no fun! Share this post Link to post
Posted May 31, 2020 At last! A blue Alcedine! *celebrates* That's 1 Blue for 7 Red Alcedines. Looking at others who have had similar problems getting anything else than the first colour that hatched on their scroll, it's almost as if there's a heavy bias for the first hatched colour even if the 'original' chances were truly random.
