I guess I wouldn’t know as I’m the type of person to go at least one hour before closing time just to be safe.

Seems not. At least not in the shop where trystan works. I do in mine, but, like you, I don't go to others at their closing times so I don't know what they do.

I haven't been in any store near closing for a long time, either.

 

Good morning, CPA! It is looking cloudy this morning. Yesterday ended up being beautiful after a cloudy start, so we shall see what becomes of today.

 

One of my walking buddies ended up in the hospital yesterday after being suddenly taken ill. Waiting for more information.

And did extremely well in the shop with a half off everything but furniture day.

work was .... work.  i got the day the family is getting together for chanukah approved as off, but (as predicted because i didn't have a compelling excuse) i got Black Friday denied off. oh well.  we had four call-outs today. yeesh.

i'm already short! LOL.

three of the call-outs were from the morning-afternoon shift, and one was an afternoon shift.  while there should have been 6 people (not including the manager and framer) there were only 3 of us.  and then someone left at 12.  i left about 1:40 (10 minutes later than the end of my shift), and while that left 1 person on register, at that time there really ought to have been 3 more people ... the ones that called out. yeesh.

Yeesh, indeed. We've been having days like that at the shelter where multiple people don't come in, and it puts a serious burden on those that do, especially since animal lives are involved.

Lean Cuisine has become my comfort food go-to. I really do not enjoy cooking. (My neighbour, I've been realizing more and more, does takeaway most nights.)

Well, I keep thinking about getting Chinese, but the restaurant I get takeaway from now closes from 3:30 - 4:30 and that's when I'm headed home, and once I get home, I don't generally go back out. So no Chinese...

 

I hadn't fully appreciated how much of my social life was actually connected to the Sunday brunches at my aunt's.

Some lunatic took a sledgehammer to statue of Columbus at Government House yesterday (it's not actually Columbus but so few people here know the actual history of the statue that it's not worth correcting them) and it took the Marine force on security watch so long to get to him and stop him that they're now also under investigation for taking so long. On what used to be Columbus Day weekend, no less.
