Very cute dragon, Kestra!

Good afternoon, CPA! B)

*sets out coffee, tea, juices, apples, brownies, and ham sandwiches*

I have a rescued bird outside.  I hope he'll be okay.  Right now he keeps toppling over to the left or ending up on his back, which isn't a good thing.

No, it is not. Based on past experience, I wouldn't hold out much hope for its recovery, unfortunately.

Yeah, I kinda figured that. I have a friend who will be taking it tomorrow if its still alive.  She has a good track record with bird recoveries but we're fortunately both realists about the fact that sometimes they die no matter how much you do.

*nods* There's not a lot you can do for birds. They go into shock easily.  Most of the specialists work for zoos and commercial aviaries.

here's a picture of a dragon who just had a shower on a very hot day. I particularly like the cat-like way he had his front legs,.because he never sits like that!

he's awesome!

my vamps went 50/50 today.  i had 2 vamps who each bit an egg.  both stayed on my scroll - one as a vamp, and one as a dead egg.  well, at least it won't count towards my eggs after tomorrow evening....... i'm guessing on a july release of new eggies sunday at midnight, so i want no more eggs on my scroll by tomorrow night.   my vamp will be hatching soon, and my florets will hatch tomorrow evening, so all is lined up for that! :D

Not so far. Only around Bedford. Pittsburgh is a bit more than a day-trip. (Well I guess you can get there and back in a day from here, but you wouldn't have time to do anything there.)

Sounds like your vamps are like mine -- cold-blooded killers!  Only time I ever try any more is if I have a request for a bite by my original CB -- but he is a killer, too, so it usually takes several tries to get a Vamp egg from him.

@Kestra15 That looks like a pretty big dragon -- bigger than my granddaughter's. How old is he?

Today was actually a pretty pleasant day for traveling. Temperature and humidity were both in a comfortable range for once and it was partly cloudy most of the day.

Her school starts that early? Where does she go?

ah very cool.

well, no.... she goes to Pitt....classes start on August 27th (yes that's a friday), but her and two friends have off-campus housing and the lease starts on august 1, so she want to move out there and get settled in, well, as soon as possible. XD she was ready to move back in march of 2020, if that gives you any idea how eager she is to get back to school XD

she'll be there for a few days and then coming back here for another week and a half, as there's a few more things that are still happening before school starts - but then she'll be back out on the 15th until.... maybe thanksgiving?

Pffft... bedframes are so old fashioned. Put the box and mattress on the floor so the monsters can't hide underneath.

didn't see this, making rasberry!

what if i want to attract a monster tho-

So... the Atlantis pics were a dud, then? ;)

The bird flew off under its own steam when I wasn't looking, so I hope it will be okay.

Bedframes are highly overrated. Hubby and I lived the first two years of our marriage with our box springs on the floor. XD

I hope it'll be okay Lagie. If nothing else at least you did what you could :) and Lego Atlantis looks awesome!

Alice is four years old so fully grown now, and around two foot long from about to tail-tip. He reached that size at about eighteen months. If anything he seems slightly skinny compared to other beardies I've seen!

Hmmm. Well, Lizzie must be fully grown, too, because she is about 3, I think, but she is smaller than that. Of course I have not seen her in person in over a year and a half, but I have seen her on ZOOM and I don't think she has grown that much.

Glad to hear that. I would take that as a good sign, although I suppose it could still have a bad outcome.

Lizzie is a classic name :)

If it helps to get an idea of size, here he is settling down with Lover.

My granddaughter doesn't have much imagination when it comes to naming pets and toys. XD A toy horse named Pony. A lizard named Lizzie.

Thanks! I'll probably keep those sets, and sell off some of the others.

Alice is a boy?

Yup. You can't sex a dragon until they are about six to nine months, and we got Alice at three months if age, so Lover decided Alice was a girl. Then one day I noticed Alice had both of his...requirements.

Didn't see a need to change his name. We respect his life choices, and it worked for Alice Cooper!

For an idea of size, here he was at four months.
