Posted August 28, 2019 (edited) white stripe example And yes I've checked both peaks of the lumina cycle, dark luminas have bred multiple white stripes and white stripes only despite logically breeding black stripes. It'd be cool if they could breed both colors as a reference to the way they breed both dark and light luminas (and to not shut out white stripe x dark lumina lineages), but black stripes make more sense than white stripes either way. Posted August 28, 2019 Support this, definitely - it would really be more logical for dark Lumina to breed black Stripes. I really hope this becomes a thing! I can support what Shadowdrake says, as I've been helping with the dark Lumina x Stripe breeding and without exception, regardless of the timing in the Lumina cycle, only white Stripe offspring were produced (if they produced Stripes at all). Posted August 28, 2019 Sure. I'm not planning on doing any Striped x Dark Lumina-lineages, but I wouldn't mind this being implemented. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 28, 2019 (edited) Support. I also support "backwards compatibility", they could randomly make either black or white Stripeds (like e.g. Swallowtails already do, with blue thrown in between as well). Edited August 28, 2019 by Ruby Eyes Share this post Link to post
Posted August 28, 2019 Wait, what? How is it possible for Dark Luminas to breed white Stripes in the first place? Full support for the change. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 28, 2019 Dark Luminas also only give white Stripes? I thought it was weird to find that Moonstones and Boreals only give white rather than blue Stripes. I wonder what other breeds are messed up in that regard beyond these three. Support. Share this post Link to post

Possibly because white is the default color. TJ has to set each species to breed the others. It used to happen a lot that new breeds would only give white at first. I think he finally put a code in to do it automatically, but that doesn't mean something can't get missed here or there. Share this post Link to post

I know this used to happen way back when, but it hasn't happened in a very long time (save for the Dark Luminas). Share this post Link to post

Hence my comment that it was changed to do so automatically. But the program apparently doesn't distinguish between the two versions so will need to be fixed manually. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 30, 2019 Much support. I think black stripes would look better. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 29, 2020 Support also, it doesnt make much sense otherwise! Share this post Link to post
Posted February 29, 2020 Support. I like the idea that they could produce either black or white stripes, same as how they can breed either dark or light Luminas. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 29, 2020 This makes a lot of sense, and I like the idea of letting them breed either white or black stripes so as not to ruin any ongoing projects. Support. Share this post Link to post

Posted April 6, 2020 (edited) I support this. I also like the idea that what you can get might tie in with their moon cycle breeding ratios, however, I also understand if its more work than what one normally puts in with the stripe baby production. (But wouldn't it be fun to play around with time based dragon breedings like Sunset/Sunrise, etc.) But I do agree that it would be nice to get both Black and White from either Lumina as they are related. I also love when dragons have the ability to produce more than one specific color of Stripe (assuming they aren't necessarily a solid color to begin with and the creator/spriter only wants a certain color stripe). I love being able to breed stripes to other breeds and get some variety. I don't necessarily expect all four versions from every dragon (minus stripe to stripe breeding, which is super fun and awesome), but I always like to see what breeds out. I just think it makes people do more interesting things with breeding potential and projects. And not just checkers. You can do cool things with Stairs & Spirals with unique color designs that are far more interesting pattern wise. Edited April 6, 2020 by Natayah Share this post Link to post
