I figured it'd be best to introduce myself and figure things out

I guess first of all I was wondering how to pm people, if possible, and how to change my profile picture here

Welcome to DC!  When I was new, I had a mentor who greatly helped me in learning the game. If you find you need assistance, they are awesome at answering all sorts of questions. They can help with the DC game, the forum, or both types of questions.
