Posted July 24, 2019 This might be an old idea or someone else may have suggested it, I havent been on alot lately...how about a downloadable or online checksheet attached to each account with pics of eggs, hatchlings and dragons that each user could go through and check off what they have in their dragondex so they can know what they need to catch to complete their dex? Posted July 24, 2019 I'm not sure I understand the point, here - dex? You mean the Encyclopedia? You can just go to the page to see what you still haven't unlocked. Share this post Link to post

I believe 'dex' is being used as in 'pokedex', which is a Pokemon thing. From what I can tell (quick Google) it's basically a database you use to keep track of your Pokemon and has info about the different types and such. It does seem to be similar to an Encyclopedia. As for the suggestion, I'm not sure how many users would actually use it? Unlike in Pokemon, DC doesn't really have a 'catch 'em all!' goal. Some users do want to get every single breed, but many just focus on their favorites. People also have different goals in how *many* of each breed they want, lineage type, etc... I'm not sure a generic checksheet would help. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 24, 2019 There are also some resources on the forums that can help people with their goals: Encyclopedia Helpers, for viewing enough dragons to complete encyclopedia images + behavior descriptions Complete Your Scroll Wish List Thread for keeping track of wishlists and scroll goals Dragon Types Wiki page -- not on the forum, but a list of all dragons (minus those that are currently being released) But, like HeatherMarie said, Dragon Cave doesn't have a set goal, and I think a checklist would go against DC's current "play your own way" attitude. I like that DC doesn't any set goals, and wouldn't want a prompt to collect one of each dragon. A customizable checklist might be cool, but I also think that's easy enough to manage in a google doc or the wishlist thread. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 24, 2019 I just made my own Google spreadsheet like many other players and cross things off when I get them. You can add whatever you want to it since they're completely customizable. A bit time consuming but very simple to use. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 24, 2019 What she said. It's very easy, and you can add any new breed a it shows up. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 24, 2019 What would I need this for? Within a week of a new release, I have them all (save for zombies, non-dragons and cheese dragons, which I don't collect due to personal preference). I don't think it's really necessary in the long run. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 25, 2019 I don't see a need either, but for new players I can see how it would help. Also for people who took a bread - as I believe the OP did. But I think it is easily enough managed - you can even create the spreadsheet by sorting by breed and then matching up your dragon count against the wiki or the encyclopedia. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 25, 2019 For new players - they can use the encyclopedia... After all, it should count all dragons born after its implementation. Share this post Link to post
Posted July 25, 2019 But they can't see them and what they are, until they have them unlocked. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 12, 2019 It would definitely help me as I would like to collect them all just for me. If you cant see the new dragons on the encyclopedia you cant tell which ones you need to catch yet, I was just hoping for an easy way to document all of the breeds and eggs and hatchlings so that i could catch them all for me rather than write them down and cross them off as I catch them. thanks all for your input. Posted August 12, 2019 Spriters alts aren't something you can collect as such, though. Thanks for all the variants. That is surely just as much use as some on-line checklist, don't you think ? Share this post Link to post

Posted August 14, 2019 Thank you both very much! I will print them out and use them to take an actual inventory of my dragons so I can set about reorganizing them. Over the years my scroll has gotten a bit untidy but I don't think I want to use any of the automatic sorting options provided. An inventory will be a good first step. You have no idea how useful paper print outs will be. It's just that I'm an old lady... Share this post Link to post

Easy to put it in "breed" to see what you have. Share this post Link to post

Now using it, along with a list, I should be able to get a pretty good idea of just what I have on my scroll. Then, once I have a count of each breed, I'll be able to tell when I have each breed rounded up and organized in one place. I think I can more easily do it now that I have a plan. Posted August 17, 2019 You can also make checklists on Google Sheets to keep track of your dragons; that's how I keep track of where I am up to with my collection! Its free and easy to use 😁 Share this post Link to post
