BSA suggestion for Aeria Gloris

Recommended Posts

Let me start with the adult description, emphasis by me

Spoiler

Aeria Gloris adultThe Aeria Gloris are an unusual-looking breed. With six glowing eyes, a ring of crystals that orbits around the dragon’s neck, and seven sets of short wings lining their body, these dragons are thought to be related to something primordial, perhaps even alien. Regardless, Aeria Gloris Dragons are graceful and gifted with potent magic that allows them to manipulate space almost instinctively. They have been known to use highly complex teleportation magic on the fly, and while these dragons are not very mobile on the ground, they often take off by using their magic to create a field which temporarily reverses gravity’s hold. Aeria Gloris are usually neither malicious nor benevolent, preferring to mind their own business and wandering as if in search of something."

Several BSA suggestions come to mind:

Super Teleport: This would allow you to teleport more than 4 items.

Cooldown: 1 week (per suggestion from some other post)

Early Teleport: This would allow you to put eggs in teleport which are still on cooldown. However, you could only set up the teleport, but not go through with it until the cooldown is done with.

Cooldown: Probably 2 days?

Protected Teleport: As the title suggests, eggs/hatchlings put in this kind of teleport will be unable to gain views/UVs/clicks, thereby preventing them from getting sick as well as from hatching/maturing. (The eggs/hatchlings are kept way up high so nobody gets a chance to take care of them - or get them sick.)

Cooldown: 2 days? 4 days? 1 week?

Honestly Aeria Gloris, while adept at teleportation, would be better suited for using their antigravity magic to make an egg unable to be abandoned or traded, but immune to Earthquake. They tend to use their teleportation magic more for their own mobility on the go than deliberate transport of objects.

I think the CD should be longer, if it's a "super" teleport.

Fairly neutral on these in general, to be honest.

I think I agree with Fuzzbucket that the Super-Teleport should probably have more cooldown. It would probably take way more mana and magic to move more things. Maybe like 4 days, double the time for Magis? So, like transporting 8 things takes twice as much magic?

Disregarding how well they fit the respectively chosen breed, here are a few thoughts:

Super Teleport: While I personally wouldn't mind the option for larger teleports, adding a literally just stronger version of Teleport that can fully replace it in functionality seems a little odd to me. In my opinion, there should be more to set the two apart.

EDIT: Wait, no. I think four is probably the maximum because that's how many eggs a scroll without a trophy can have, and allowing larger trades of eggs would put those without a trophy at a disadvantage.

{snip}

Maybe make it for hatchlings only? Like eggs are too fragile for the magic required for the super-teleport?

And then make it a week long cooldown, since it moves more creatures and uses more magic?

Is that more specific?

Just moving this to the appropriate thread.

@TCA: So like a float BSA? Like it can't get hit by an earthquake if it's not touching the ground? (Unless a tree or stalactite falls on it or something?)

I think something like this was once suggested for balloons - and rejected on the grounds that during an earthquake, things could fall on the eggs - even if they were floating - and kill them.

There's a difference between "floating" and "suspended in an antigravity field".

Inertia is still a thing, so although a falling rock wouldn't accelerate in an antigravity field, it would still continue to move downward, just at the same rate it had when entering the field.

As Aeria are space manipulators could they expand a small temporary pocket on scrolls outside of normal limits that would only benefit the scroll owner by enabling them to catch or breed an egg to gift to others?. For example holiday cb eggs ,where they are already at their limit for that breed. The pocket would expire after a limited amount of time say 12- 24 hours?

No support for that. Getting around egg limits is not OK, by me, or, I suspect, by The Boss.

True enough. We've seen the Bossman's response to re-introducing breed-only slots often enough. (Went along the lines of, "If you want a breed-only egg slot, pretend you have one egg slot less than you actually have. And whenever you need to hold a bred egg, use that slot you don't otherwise use.")

I SORT of like this idea, actually. I NEVER use earthquake primarily because I usually have eggs on my scroll I care about more than other s .... and an EQ could potentially effect them all!

Well, in that case, just use the Kill action - achieves the same thing, but only on the egg you targeted.

Oh no I wasn't suggesting getting around egg limits per se. It was more a question of having a gifting slot to help others who were having problems catching perhaps at holidays. The eggs can't be kept or traded  only gifted. It gets frustrating when you want to help people but already have your 2cb limit. I didn't intend there to be any benefit for the scroll owner other than helping newer people.

It's still getting around them.

Maybe it can be like "reverse gravity" field, rather than an anti-gravity field? So like the egg gets contained in a space bubble that repels anything that can be affected by gravity from getting too close?

So like if something falls on it, it gets pushed away instead?

But, if we do that, we'd probably have to make it completely immune to anything, since nothing can approach it. So, no BSA's of any kind, or actions that involve something coming in contact with the egg.

Maybe it could last an hour?

You probably wouldn't be able to view the egg either, since spacetime is warped around it and curving light waves away from it. (Think of it like a reverse black hole.)

idk

Edit: Doodles theoretical reverse gravity field

I really need to focus on my work...

Wouldn't that make the egg explode, just like it would be condensed in a black hole? Just wondering. Because if that thing is strong enough to send away light, it should definitely achieve an eggsplosion.

Maybe?

But also, maybe not?.

I don't know what would happen in a pocket of not-space. Cause the idea is the egg is inside the field or pocket of not space, rather than space itself. So like, because of the reverse gravity, space-time goes around the egg, so nothing can reach the egg, while it's in that pocket.

But like the space within the pocket itself? idk Probably another dimension.

Alternate dimension pocket to hide the egg in from everything.

*shrugs*

For that, we already have fog. Save for the safety from EQ, that is.
