Help the baby dragons

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

i m from germany and i think my english isn t the best. But i hope u can understand me.

Actually the dragon cave game is just like ,,steel an egg and then give it views,,. Sometimes the eggs or babys feel sick... its nice, but all the game.

My idea:

My idea comes from the following story ,,Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It loves warmth, and sometimes you have to pull it away from fire to keep it from burning itself.,, ...

So.... i think it would be great if some (maybe every 5th dragon or rare or special) dragons have one quest and you need for example another dragon to finish the quest.

For example:

A baby dragon is sad because it wants a flower.

You see a symbol next to the baby at the dragon cave site. Then you have to read the story ...,,blabla..baby is sad because it wants a flower bla bla bla because its a vulcano dragon and has never seen a flower before...,, ... and then under the story you see some of your dragons which could help the baby. In this case you need an earth dragon because it could give a flower to the baby. Click it. After giving the flower to the baby it will be happy and grows faster. Or the dragon will never come into adulthood if you dont finish the quest. ... after helping the baby the helper dragon cannot help another baby within the next days.. but maybe it would be great if other members could help you .. so you have to communicate with the community.

Another example:

The baby burns itself and you need a water dragon to delete the fire OR a white dragon to heal the wounds.

Another example again:

A baby wants to cuddle... so its the same way.. you see a symbol next to your baby at the site, then you read the story and then you can push a button under the story which is called ,,cuddle,,.

I think dragon cave would be more interesting and exciting with some quests. And the players will feel more ,,passion,, to their dragons.

You will feel involved into the story and can tell your friends ,, ohhh look this was the baby that burned itself and i had to help it LOL.... ive choosed the white dragon to heal it but u can help it with a water dragon to...... and this one was the baby that was soooooooo sad because it ever wanted to see a flower,,...

Do u understand what i mean?

I understood your post and while I like the idea on its own, it's cute, but I feel like it might be way too much work to implement for something that's not really needed, just extra fun. The problem is mostly that because of the big, big, BIG amount of dragons we collect, one would run through all quests pretty quickly and then it will just become annoying, not special anymore. Either the quests would have to become very rare (which is "eh" to me, doesn't seem worth the effort..) or there would have to be a LOT of different ones (= a lot of work).

I personally think you might be better of writing a description about your dragon and combine it with the name of the earth dragon (for the flower example). That way you can still "bond" and have a special dragon :) I just think it wouldn't really be suitable as a "quest". Though I'm not against the idea itself. It might be more suited as an event, but the click through story games we have kind of already resemble what you wrote.

Honestly, a lot of us like DragonCave because it's simple and easy (ie, because it *doesn't* have tons of random 'quests' and extra things constantly happening). We already have fairly in-depth and involved 'quests' with a lot of the holiday events in the past and I'm sure we'll have more like them in the future, but that kind of stuff becoming an everyday thing on DC would get very annoying and redundant after awhile, especially for those of us who like the current simplicity of the game.

I wouldn’t mind something like this as long as it was an addition to, rather than a replacement for, current mechanics. For example, maybe quests could generate a random (small!) amount of views, clicks, time reduced until hatching, or shards.

I wouldn't mind a little quest popping up here and there (kinda like the raffle requirements honestly? Raise 1 of x, or like the example use ward on 1 egg or whatever), as long as it was 1. simple and not a bazillion steps and 2. ignore-able. I wouldn't want it keeping a dragon from growing up or negatively affecting play if I don't do it. One of the perks of DC is that it's very casual to play and doesn't require a huge time commitment.

This is such a cute idea; I love it so much! Reading about it made me smile. ^_^ I support this as long as, like other people said, it's not mandatory that you do them. Instead if you wanted to, they could be for a little extra fun/bonding with your dragon and a few hours taken off the hatchling's timer. (Or some other small reward)

I would be one of those who'd ignore this. I prefer the Cave as it is today.

I think this idea would work best as an event. I would love to participate in some sort of quest but not for everyday things :D

Me too - why I play this game and no others is the sheer simplicity.

Me three... It's okay as an event (as you can also choose to either ignore it completely or breeze through it in most cases), but I wouldn't want to have that kind of thing happen on a semi-regular basis.

However, if this happens, I'd rather not be told which dragon to use, but to let us experiment. Like with that example:

So, you do not get a list of only helpful dragons, but also of some dangerous choices - or true nonsense choices. Like vine/dark green (will eat the baby - free zombie fodder + maybe heightened chance for actually reviving the baby), floret wyvern, rosebud or sakuhana (better than a flower, as it's a fellow dragon => baby is *very* happy), hellfire (burns all flowers, baby gets sick from sadness) and so on. Although most dragons would probably give you a "nothing happened".

Oh geez - didn't notice that. NOT if it would actually affect the game in any way. IF this happened, it should only be a fun aside, not something that actually does something to the things on your scroll. And absolutely you would not have to use it.

And TOTALLY nix to anything that meant co-operating with other members. Remember there is no scroll to scroll communication and TJ has said there never will be, so that can't fly anyway.

Seconding this, completely. I wouldn't mind if this was an *optional* little 'extra' thing, for those who want it, but as I said many of us like the game as-is and don't want tons of extras that we have to fiddle around with.

I really approve of this!

It makes me kinda sad that there are only really 4 events a year (sometimes 5 with April Fools) so I think this suggestion would be a nice addition. As others have mentioned, only if it was ignorable though - I personally don't use the market but I still understand it's a feature many people use, so for little quests to be incorporated for those who want to play them, I'd really like it.
