Some of my favorites (I can't post them all!) are @Fuzzbucket's Heartseeker x Pillow and Radiant Angel x Teimarr (never would have thought of the Teimarr!) and Heartstealer x Daydream is a knockout! @Lantean_Pegasus Heartseeker x Candelabra (this one surprised me, as I didn't think I would like dark on dark, but it is so chocolatey! Same with the Heartseeker x Spirit Ward, especially at night. And the Heartseeker x Stormrider is beautiful and so unexpected. And they looked great with Water Dragons as you said, and so many other dragons. And this Heartstealer x Blue Gemshard is indeed lovely. Thanks for the Terrae idea; Terrae x Soulstone! Once I get my CB Soulstones this year, I may start on that one next year. @Keileon I especially love the Floral-Crowned x Rosy Solstice. @catstaff Loving the Sweetling x Mint! They look great together. And the Val '09 x Blue Lunar Herald! @littleangelamy22 The Floral-Crowned x Blue Gemshard, just wow. But then @Ruby Eyes mentioned Black Truffle and ... wow! 😍 And I love your idea of the Floral-Crowned x Vine! @relaks That Floral-Crowned x Witchlight is amazing ... and wow, Mutamore x Soulstone looks awesome! OMG your Kingcrowne x Soulstone ... breathtaking! @Tigerkralle The Whiptails running for the last piece of chocolate ... I love that! What a beautiful pairing. Heartseeker x Whiptail and you posted so many gorgeous ideas I don't know how to narrow it down to only a few! "Lovely commons" indeed, you and fuzz pair them so beautifully! @Sirithiliel Love the Floral-Crowned x Plated Colossus and @Andromen hadn't considered Mutamores with Scripts! @TerraAnne the Heartstealers are lovely with the Shimmers, for sure! Mutamores are another possibility... they're more purplish than pinkish, but they are male valentines, and closer to the Val '09 color than either sweetlings (too pale) or Heartseekers (blatantly red). Floral-crowns might also work, although they are definitely multicolored. Share this post Link to post

Posted February 21, 2019 Finally my 2nd gens grew up, so I can post the combinations I went with this year: Heartseeker x Freckled I like their poses together (and the Freckle is looking up to the HS so adorably), as well as the colours. Heartseeker x Razorcrest The deep, rich red of the HS and the deep, rich blue of the wyvern are so nice together, and the chocolate wings are fitted by the coppery wings and fluff. I decided against the pairing with Starsinger because, while those are beautiful, I find them very hard to make out in their lineage tile. :-( And I didn't have a HS left for a pairing with Black Zyomorph, but I nudged my husband, and voila, Heartseeker x Black Zyumorph. Val 09 x Nocturne Is a perfect match ! Only downside - it only really works at night (look at it then!). But then the "older" style of the sprites and the slightly muted but still strong colours are just made for each other ! Sweetling x Aether looks as good as I expected it to. Pink x light blue. Pastels all the way ! 😉 Sweetling x Blue Siyat is an idea I though worth following through with, and I'm quite happy how it turned out. Both dragons look somewhat fragile, and the colours go well together. Rosebud x Aether Even better than SweetlingxAether, because not only matching colours but also more fluff and frill. Rosebud x Anagallis More of a contrast, but his red mask and gloves are somewhat fitting for a charming swashbuckly suitor of the rosy lady. Arsani x Blue Siyat Not perfect, but the sprite sizes, poses and colours are a decent fit. Arsani x Bronze Lunar Herald Made a 2nd gen because I need to make/find a mate for this 4th gen. Radiant Angel x Freckled I just like Freckleds, and they actually fit the red/gold/white of the Angels. Soulstone x Candelabra Colours, poses, festiveness. Plus, the Soulstones have their pearl and Candelabras their orb, nice accessories. ( @relaks: Looks like we have very similar tastes for the Soulstones. Would've done Kingcrown as my 2nd option as well, but my husband beat me to it. ;-)) Soulstone x Purple Siyat I wanted to do something with my Siyats, and the Soulstones look good with things that are purple but not too brightly so. I had a hard time finding things that I liked with Floral-Crowned, but I was happy when I came up with these: Floral-Crowned x Golden Floret Floral crown, floral mane - these two were made for each other. And I always thought that the metallics of the wyvern have a greenish tint to them. Perfect match for the Floral's green wings and crown. (Thanks for the mockup, relaks, it cemented my decision !) Floral-Crowned x Freckled Look who it is again - the Freckles ! *g* Both have pixely textures on their backs, and the reds match. If I have crossed them out, I have decided what to breed them with and I will post it. Heartseeker: I want lovely common/uncommon pairings this year. I am considering Albino, Dark Green/Vine (I would love to do Vine with something), other choices? not sure yet. Or Pillow? I had forgotten about that lovely combination from last year! Posted February 11, 2020 I do love my Mutamores with Carmine Wyverns. See this example. As for Sakuhana Wyverns. Have you tried them with Freckled Dragons? It turned out lovely. And have a look at them with Terrae. Sweetlings are not that easy so it seems. I just tested this and i am not 100% sure i like it. Tercorns are pink, but pink is not pink. I did those lineages (will finish the Mistletoe one with 5th gen next Val), and it took me quite a while to find some bloodswaps. For my Mutamores I went with Blue Gemshard, Tan Ridgewing, Grey/Storm and Silver so far. (The Silver isn't (un)common, of course, but I wanted to throw the idea out there, anyway. 😉) I also like the Coastal Waverunner idea. Red Gemshard works, too. Arsani with Spirit Ward (I like how similar their manes are, and the low-glow time looks great), Water (manes again), Royal Blue, Moonstone, Blue Gemshard, Blusang, Azure Glacewing, Winter, Bronze Lunar Herald (Hey, look, I have other than blue partners !) Also like these ideas: Grey/Storm, Terrae, Silver Herald @Tigerkralle I'm prettty happy how my Sweetligs turned out with Aether and Blue Siyat, but that's going with pink+blue, again. 😉 Edited February 11, 2020 by Lantean_Pegasus Share this post Link to post

Posted May 25, 2021 (edited) Not sure if it's okay to jump in and revive this *way* out of season, but with the Pink Alt Sapphires I really want to do a Valentine lineage with them. I saw one with an '09 Val and it looks like a hybrid and it's really cool. I think it would work with the Floral crowns as well. Problem: the whole abandon requirement. But if enough of us breed and announce when they are going to the AP and we can track the codes, hopefully we can reclaim a few. Thoughts?
