Posted January 25, 2019 Which has a greater chance of forcing an egg that's at big hole stage, but hasn't yet reached hatching time...say 4d18h? Share this post Link to post
Posted January 26, 2019 I don't think anyone can answer this definitively - but my personal guess would be EQ. Though neither has a very good chance, fair warning 8D Share this post Link to post
Posted January 26, 2019 Also, EQ can kill other eggs, and fogging does not prevent that afaik Share this post Link to post
Posted January 26, 2019 Yeah, neither has a very good chance of force hatching. You're more likely to kill it if you do that. Force is a very tiny chance. Very tiny. And EQ effects all of your eggs, not just the one you're trying to hatch. You could very well kill everything you have. And nothing can save them from it, not Fog, not Ward, nothing at all. That's why most people don't use EQ at all. And even if you do hatch something, the hatchies could run away from you and go into the AP. I'd say just wait the 18 hours. Or if you have a Red, use Incubate and that egg should insta-hatch. No need to risk killing or losing anything that way. Share this post Link to post
Posted January 26, 2019 I actually assumed they were the same, just that EQ hits everything not just the one egg. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 6, 2019 I wouldn't use either. If the egg is at the big hole stage it will likely hatch as soon as it hits less than four days. I would use Incubate to take a day off. I've hatched eggs that way before, and you don't run the risk of accidentally killing it. Share this post Link to post
Posted February 6, 2019 Well, I did once or twice hatch an egg seconds before it was running out of time - but always when there was already a pretty big hole. I don't recommend it, though, unless there's no other choice. I recommend earthquake even less since it will affect all eggs on your scroll, and there's absolutely no way to prevent that from happening. Not with Warding, not with fogging. Way back when, when Earthquake was a rather new BSA, eggs killed via that BSA didn't count towards your scroll limits. There's a reason people used it to "clear the AP" by killing all the undesireable eggs there, and ended up with heaps of broken shells. Share this post Link to post

I wouldn't use either one to hatch an egg. EQ can kill everything on your scroll. Reds are the best way to shave a full 24 hours off your egg's time and not kill anything.
