My husband had a pair of Two-Finned Blunas grow-up on his scroll yesterday and they did not count. Here are the dragons in question:

He said that he got both Dragons in a trade as hatchlings and they pretty much grew-up not long after hitting his scroll.

Whoops, guess I should link his scroll too?

Blunas don't count. They're not sea serpents.

According to the encyclopedia Blunas are classed as Amphipteres, not sea serpents.

There's a lot of confusion this month, because the DC wiki is apparently just straight-up wrong about classifications much of the time. According to the wiki, Thalassas and Blunas are sea serpents. According to the encyclopedia, they are not.

However, both the wiki AND the encyclopedia clearly agree that deepseas are sea serpents. I raised three deepseas and still have credit only for one. The counting system clearly is not working all the time.

Ah, thanks. I was going off of the info from the Wiki, guess they need to update their info?

I'll also pass this info along to my husband. :)

The wiki is unofficial so don't judge classifications based on information you find there. Check the encyclopedia for official information. For the purpose of this month's raffle, dragons classified as sea serpents are: Baikala, Deep Sea, Shallow Water and Water.

But it's still not working all the time for those dragons either, StormWizard212. That's what's getting lost in the shuffle here. I raised 3 deepseas and I'm at 1/3. This is still happening for some reason.

@TJ09 looks like this might still be an issue.

I just matured another deepsea and now I'm at 2/3. I suspect the problem is occurring when we raise a batch simultaneously, and for some reason it's only triggering the counter once even though there are multiple dragons reaching adulthood. My counter doesn't appear to be frozen, it just completely ignored two of the dragons in the first batch I raised.

If anyone else is having this problem, try raising dragons one at a time and see if that helps.

I got two at once and both counted. But they were waters, if that makes a difference.

I caught 3 Waters within an hour and when they grew up (presumably within an hour) they all counted. I'm not sure what the problem is. Hope it gets resolved for everyone soon.

Well, it's not a very serious problem whatever it is, because it works to replace them with new ones. So I'll just have 5 unwanted extra deepseas on my scroll instead of 3, NBD. But if someone starts trying to meet the deadline the last week of the month, this could prevent them.

That's what concerns me. This kind of glitch is why I always try and do the thing on Day 1 !

I just had three deep seas grow up and my raffle counter is still at 0/3?

They're right near the top.

I'm pretty confused since I got these from the AP and raised them specially for the raffle, but none of them counted?

The only thing I see 3 of near the top - and grown up today - are 3 Spotted Greenwings (which don't count). Could you give the codes of the dragons in question?

Oh whoops I got them confused. Now I feel silly.

Do Baikalas count from any habitat? Or does it have to be the blue ones from the coast?

The jungle baikala and the blue bred baikala counted just fine for me. UmXZ2 zKEOe

Follow-up: Nobody ended up fixing this or gave any indication that they ever intended to, so I just raised two more serpents which were counted successfully. Easy enough to do, but this is an obvious bug. Hope nobody has this problem again later in the month when it will be harder to just repeat the action.

Just like Elemental Affinities, you need to actually check the dragon's article in order to see the full picture/scope of information. The Bluna article is very clear to list Amphiptere as the primary morphology. The parent category to morphologies now contains the same warning as affinities. From what I can read though, this is only half the problem of what this thread is attempting to address seeing as many are finding Encyclopedia-classified sea serpents not counting, and TJ himself stating earlier that he did indeed find an error.

I was concerned when my Bluna and Thalassas did not meet the notification requirements via the cave system.

I thought there may have been some kind of glitch in the system but in reality is was my misunderstanding of the classifications,

I used the wiki; now I see the correct ones in the encyclopedia descriptions, sub-heading: type .

I'm glad I saw this. I was able to breed a couple Baikala and snag a Water in the Coast.

Those should meet the requirements. :)

I have raised 3 Sea Serpents (1 Deep Sea, 2 Waters) today Dec 29, but Monthly Raffle still said: Entry Requirements Raise 2/3 adult sea serpents. And now it's too late to raise another one. Help!

https://dragcave.net/view/1WQ8E

https://dragcave.net/view/FObQj

https://dragcave.net/view/Mexyu

It seems that only Deep Sea have this bug. If I had read this post earlier and chose 3 Waters, it seems too late now. :(

I'm sorry this didn't get fixed for everyone, I raised three Deep Seas that counted, one was CB, the other two bred, and they counted.

Since the raffle's over for the month I'll close this out, but please post again in Help if this becomes an issue in January and beyond.
