IC

This is a world of humans.

Located in the United States, the city isn't a giant, overly populated one like New York City or San Francisco. However, it's not a middle-of-nowhere small town either. More mid-sized, with a population of roughly 200,000 permanent residents, civilization thrives here. Skyscrapers spear the sky in downtown and business areas while residential zones push ever outward. A river cuts a jagged path through the Eastern section of the city, slicing at a Northwestern angle. Nature has been largely tamed, with groomed trees and flowers beds, manicured lawns and a pair of local parks that are well-maintained by taxes; the larger of the two is located more towards the center of the city. Several high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools make up a bulk of the local education system, extended only by a community college. The closest university is about 170 miles West. Despite that, the city does possess a small airport, just barely keeping the city from being isolated by all means of travel save driving.

In the light of day, humans need only concern themselves with the frustrations of work or traffic.

When the sun sets, concealed by the darkness of night and of carefully managed ignorance, creatures lurk under their noses. Magical beings, possessing a myriad of shapes and abilities, struggle to thrive under the overwhelming rule of humanity. They do what they can to blend in and coexist for the sake of survival. At least, they do so in this city. This city is neutral territory. Without neutrality laws, Werewolves, Vampires, Angels, and all other sorts would have torn each other apart. Benevolent and malicious kinds both exist, both depend upon the ignorance of humanity to stand any sort of fighting chance for life.

That doesn't mean there isn't any threat.

Demons are the common enemy, the spurring force that prompted the tense treaties and neutral zones into creation. Demons do not care for human existence, most of all. They thrive on chaos, bloodshed. They are born from it. The destruction of Supernatural kind would merely provoke a surge in their strength. Especially the downfall of the Angels. Their cosmic battle has long since spilled onto the Earth, into the realm of humanity and the mortal Supernaturals. As that endless war has raged, the creatures have adapted and evolved, pushing the Angels into doing the same. They feed each other, maintaining a delicate, unseen force of balance that could tip at any moment.

Ensuring this city remain as neutral territory for the Supernaturals, a council naturally needed to be formed. Consisting of a spokesperson from each of the more powerful Supernaturals, meetings are held annually, privately and secretly. Emergencies or matters of great importance can cause this Council to convene more than once in a year. However, for the most part, each group polices their own as seen fit within the neutrality laws and many do not enjoy the prying of outsiders.

From this Council, another division sprang. Dubbed the Mythological Task Force and possessing Supernaturals from all groups capable or willing to lend assistance (sometimes with... payments, for services rendered), these individuals work in teams. Their primary targets are the Demons that threaten to consume humanity and Supernaturals alike. However, it's not uncommon for some teams to set out against other enemies.

Survival is the utmost priority. Maintaining the neutral zone ensures that survival.

This is a world of monsters.

Supernaturals

The world is overwhelmed by humans. Hiding within their populations, Supernaturals are struggling to survive. Human technology and several historical wars have done their best to drive these creatures into extinction. Clinging to life by the tips of their claws, Supernaturals long ago went into hiding, their dwindled numbers making the task easy. They faded into obscurity, into possibly inaccurate myths and fairy tales. Unfortunately, Time is unkind. Many species have gone extinct, dying out as all mortal things must one day. Still, several more remain behind, dolling out the best life they can within neutral territories or fighting for survival in contested areas where death can come naturally, by the hand of humankind, or by the magic of another beast.

Angels

Angels are divine beings, created into a hierarchal system that affects not only their abilities, but also their appearance. Guardian Angels, those who make their presence most on Earth, are the lowest level. They are the primary Supernatural on the frontline fighting against Demons, their Holy magic an equal force to the Demons' chaotic type. As all things must, the war they waged evolved and intensified. Long gone are the days where Holy magic and simple weapons were adequate to eradicate each other. Demons have taken on elemental attributes and basic magic of their own; they became stronger. Angels were forced to take up human-made weapons, namely guns, and borrow elemental magic from fellow Supernaturals.

Each Angel has a chosen element: Fire, Water, Air, or Earth. That element is combined with their Holy magic and embedded into the bullets required for their guns (typically one preferred and one backup firearm). Once fired, upon impact, these bullets release that magic. The amount of damage caused by the magic depends on the elemental alignment of the Demon: Fire is weak to Water, Water is weak to Earth, Earth is weak to Air, and Air is weak to Fire. The fastest way to victory is shooting a Demon between its eyes, the color of which give away its element. However, these vile creatures are incredibly fast and their forms are nearly corporeal, appearing as wispy figures without a well-defined shape. But their claws are no less deadly, their magic no less potent.

Angels are sexless, though they can choose their gender through a moldable appearance. They lack reproductive organs (and the accompanying packages that define human sexes), making them very distinct from humans when clothes are removed. While they can dictate their outward appearance, their wings are unaffected by such decisions. Possessing a range of unique patterns, only tones from the grayscale (black to white and everything in between) make up the coloration of their feathers.

These beings have use of glamour to hide among humans, dominantly controlled by will and the folding of their wings. Once extended, that glamour fades and they disappear from human sight and hearing. This only partially affects the guns they carry. Glamoured, the weapons are hidden from sight or concealed to appear as something else. Without it, the guns still cannot be seen and shots cannot be heard, but the bullets can be discovered. And cause harm.

Werewolves

Werewolves average seven feet in height (the smallest hovering around six) with digitigrade legs; long, bushy tails; and are covered head to toe in thick fur. They look very much like big, bipedal wolves but their fur is colored and patterned akin to domestic dogs. While exceptions exist and body types vary as commonly as a human's, many have maintained a good physique. Their physical strength and speed far outmatches that of any human.

They heal fast, taking moments for a cut to vanish to a few days to repair broken bones. But they need to eat a lot of raw meat and sleep to maintain that ability as it still requires energy. They can take a lot of damage but a fatal injury is a fatal injury; silver is not required but it certainly helps in a fight against them. Werewolves age very slowly, causing a 200 year old wolf to look in her late twenties. However, they aren't completely immortal and, most often, they do not die of old age.

Every full moon, they cannot resist the change from human to wolf. They lose control, causing their lupine half to take over. As such, Werewolves take a day trip out and away from human dwellings and spend the night hunting as a group. Though, they still need to be careful not to get caught up in any fighting; the stronger wolf will kill the weaker.

Without human vocal cords, a Werewolf cannot communicate with words, only sounds and body language. Fortunately, it's not hard for Werewolves to use or understand such language. Werewolves can pick each other out in a human crowd; they can smell each other. Though, their sharper sense of smell and hearing can be dampened in highly dense locations like a busy airport or by magic.

Inexplicably, each Werewolf has a butterfly tattoo somewhere on their human body. It's small and ambiguous, comprised of black lines and swirls similar to Henna.

Wolves require packs. As part of the neutrality laws and common territory, each wolf in the city belongs to one of two packs that have divided the city in half. Each pack is structured based on strength and protection. The stronger the wolf is, the more wolves he or she is charged to protect. It is a dual nature born with a violent edge. These packs are connected by magic unique to the Werewolves, most of it going without clear explanation; it just is.

Vampires

Bound to the night and forsaken by the day, Vampires are one of the Supernatural groups more closely lumped to the Demons. However, they despise this unwanted affiliation. Creatures of the living dead, they have no heartbeat and no need for breath unless to speak with. They feed not on food but on blood, gaining strength from their victims. Being forced into a mode of survival as they have, many of the stronger Vampires have built Menageries - a secret home filled with a small number of humans as consistent nourishment. It isn't common to find a Vampire who cares for his or her Menagerie.

Since Vampires are dead, they do not age. Upon their Change, they maintain the same appearance as they did upon death. (A 50 year-old man will not regress to the appearance of 20 years.) All Vampires can enthrall humans (and other Supernaturals!) through their magic, with eye contact. They can affect memories to wipe away the experience of being fed upon and cause Time to appear unaffected. A Vampire can create a bond with an individual through a feeding exchange, regardless of consent from the individual.

As Vampires age, they grow stronger. When strong enough, Vampires are known to develop a single ability. These abilities can range from virtually anything: instant teleportation, power mimicry (through feeding), etc. Their strength, speed, sense of smell and hearing, and healing capabilities are all on par with the Werewolves.

These beings are not part of packs but Seethes. Only one Seethe exists in the city, ruled by a Mistress who can control each Vampire. The weaker ones, often newly Changed or not yet strong enough to live on their own, remain in the Seethe's hideout where they feed on the Mistress for their strength.

Additional Information

[Details added or discussed through Discord.]

  • Werewolves and Vampires are not born. These Supernaturals are created through Turning, also known as Changing.
    • Werewolves have to severely bite a mundane human in order to attempt Turning them. A Turning is not always successful. The risk of failure only grows the younger the human is, due to the underdevelopment of a child's body and strength. [Our threshold here is 17 years old.] There are three outcomes: a successful Turning of a new Werewolf, a failed Turning with the survival of the mundane human,  or a failed Turning with the death of the mundane human. For the most part, Turnings are done with consent. However, rogues do exist, attacking humans and Turning against their wills. Some rogues are methodical in their hunts, but many more are not.
    • Vampires have less success in their Turnings because a sort of ritual must be performed. In the process of this ritual, the mundane human must die through the loss of blood. Necromantic magic is responsible for the success of a Turning. For this, there are only two possible outcomes: a successfully made new Vampire or a failed ritual and perished human.
    • By the nature of their violent change, female Werewolves are practically sterile. If/When they do conceive, any pregnancy is aborted/miscarried within the first couple of months because of the strain of changing.
    • Since Vampires are dead, none of them can reproduce in any capacity.
  • For the purposes of this RP, I am not defining a concrete "god" for the Angels.
  • Each Element has what is dubbed a "sub element": Fire/Magma, Water/Ice, Earth/Metal, Air/Lightning
  • Populations of Supernatural groups vary. Some are thriving better than most.
    • Werewolves and Vampires generally do not know how well or not their species are thriving. Some cities see a dramatic drop in their numbers while other cities don't. If a local population gets too small, leaders of those populations might be pressured into petitioning to join another city's population. Conversely, if a population gets too big, they might split apart with individuals moving to find a new territory.

New Species Information

Type - NPC  | Requires action approval from Valid (Devourers) or Hazeh (Collectors)

Collectors & Devourers

Appearances:

Immortal and very tiny, these beings (or creatures, depending on how one looks at them) are two sides of the same coin. Collectors and Devourers can best be described as floating, glowing motes. Collectors have more of a metallic and shiny sheen to their light, whereas Devourers possess a sooty or coal-black glow. While their individual glows make it nearly impossible to see physical details, some Angels have noted that both somewhat resemble insects with several legs and mandibles. As such, it's not uncommon for them to be referred to as Spirit--or Ghost--Bugs. While they have physical bodies and can similarly have contact with other tangible objects, Collectors and Devourers can phase through solid things with ease. Millions of Collectors and Devourers exist on the mortal plane, floating about as individuals or gathering by the thousands to form a Collective.  Collectives can take the shape of any living creature and blend in with mortals, but can most commonly be seen in the guise of Angels with illuminated, bony wings instead of feathered ones.

Abilities:

Beyond shapeshifting, Collectors and Devourers have a primary ability that relates to their purpose on the mortal plane. Both types indiscriminately extract souls from dead or dying bodies of all kinds (excluding plant-life). The souls that Collectors extract are sent to Judgement, after which the soul will then be reborn as decided. Devourers simply consume and destroy their extracted souls, turning them into energy the Devourer uses and requires. Neither are good, and neither are evil; they are a neutral force.

When formed as a Collective, each can summon a weapon as needed. This almost always takes the shape of a war scythe with dark or light tendrils/wisps trailing from the edges of the blades. These weapons are dominantly used during conflict between Collector and Devourer Collectives as they race/battle for souls during events involving heavy casualties (e.g. natural disasters, wars, etc.). Due to their immortality, these battles last until one or the other forfeits. Typically, such conflicts do not last very long; it is imperative that souls are extracted--no matter their fate--before they fester and sour in the corpses.

Despite the occasional necessity to cross blades, Devourers and Collectors cannot actually touch one another--blowback occurs upon contact. Blowback is not painful but it is still disorienting and requires moments for both to recollect themselves.

Additional Details:

- Only Angels can see and interact with Collectors, Devourers, and their Collectives.

- Many Collectives refer to themselves using the first person plural as they consider themselves a cohesive unit of many unified voices and thoughts.

- Some consider these beings as having 'modes': 'working', 'not working', and sometimes 'fighting'.

- The 'modes' are decided based upon an Angel's ability to make physical contact--should Collectors/Devourers/Collectives be in 'working mode', the obliteration of the Angel is assured upon touch.

- It isn't unusual to find Collector and Devourer Collectives working in team-pairs or forming relationships together.

- Collectives can be injured; they bleed light (or "gloom") from any wounds. Some troublesome Angels have discovered they can shoot Collectives despite laws forbidding interference.

- Interference with Collectives and their respective individuals is outlawed for both the survival of Angels as well as the safety of souls.

- These beings work for something known as the Well of Souls; only they know what it looks like and on which plane it exists.

The Crows

No one knows when they started to appear (OOC hint: super recently). They look like any other crow but there's something strange about these ones. Firstly, humans don't seem to notice them. Secondly, Supernaturals cannot hear nor smell them. Thirdly, only Werewolves cannot touch them--a repulsive field seems to prevent a Wolf from coming into contact with them. They also seem to be like ghosts, able to pass through solid objects or vanish into thin air like smoke.

If one looks closely enough, it almost looks as if their pupils/irises are in the shape of a butterfly....

Username: ValidEmotions
Name: Zarall Dawson
Age: 729 Years
Gender: Female
Species: Angel
Appearance: Lifted by black wings, a span nearly thrice her approximate six-foot height, Zarall dons the appearance of an athletic and effeminate individual. Her medium brown skin is still only a handful of tones lighter than her black hair. Her hair is tightly bound into cornrow braids that sweep down the left side of her head and ends at the small of her back. Hazel eyes are set beneath a shallow brow, within a narrow-featured face possessing sharp cheekbones and full lips. Upon her body, Zarall wears a varying range of shirts, pants or shorts, but is always donning a weathered green hoodie and black hiking boots.
Personality: Serious and often straightforward, Zarall is objective-oriented. She focuses heavily on her duty to the world and especially to humanity. Often, she could be considered as broody but that's not necessarily true. She observes and thinks, sometimes over prolonged periods. Curiosity undermines her serious nature, frequently spurring her into motion before she's fully thought a situation through, maybe even before she's realized her decision. She takes the war with the Demons to be a rather grim facet of her existence. Privately, this chafes under her skin. At heart, she's a bit of a lover but won't really admit to it.
Elemental Alignment: Water
Unique Power: N/A
Tattoo Location: N/A
Relationships:

-> Da'wan Steele: Angels and Vampires generally don't mix well. There's bad blood between the two groups of Supernaturals but, strangely, Zarall and Da'wan have come to agreeable terms, even talking ones. Part of that might be Imelda's doing. While not thick as thieves, Zarall (on a good day) can trust this Vampire to watch her back. However, they're both in agreement that the less she knows about him, the happier they'll both be.

-> Naomí Cruz: Zarall finds relating to Humans to be a difficult task. Naomí seems to be a persistent exception to this. Mostly, the interaction efforts are made by the young woman and Zarall does what she can to react or respond. Naomí's youth and general naïvety might be responsible for that. Part of a bustling household of a single father and four siblings, this young woman is ready to spread her wings and explore the world around her.

-> Aarin: A longtime partner, Aarin was the leader of Zarall's previous enforcement team. Her former mentor, they have an intimidating battle record and retired from the frontlines of the Holy War about a century ago. Now, they spend their days teaching newly created Angels, preparing them for battle. As such, they rarely return to Earth for social visits.

-> Imelda Roy: Virtually the only Werewolf that Zarall has bothered to get to know. Part of that wasn't by choice at first. They crossed paths a few years ago, during Zarall's solo phase and shortly before the Council put together the Mythological Task Force. Grievously injured when she was overwhelmed by Demons, Imelda found her collapsed within an alleyway, failing in her attempts to lose the creatures. Kindly, the Wolf hasn't seen need to remind the Angel of having saved her. However, Zarall believes she owes Imelda a debt and refuses to not see that through some day.

-> Usiu [Unknown]: Angel number two and the final member of Zarall's former team. There's bad blood between Zarall and Usiu. He blames her for something she did that he cannot forgive nor forget. She blames herself, too, and doesn't let herself forget either. She doesn't know what's become of him. No matter how hard she searches, she can't find him. No one else knows what's befallen him. Either he's gone rogue... or he was killed.

-> Theliel: An Angel not quite considered old but neither considered so young anymore, Theliel is Zarall's recent protégé. He was her first charge, learning how to adapt in battle and gain hands-on experience in the Holy War, once his basic schooling was over. Now, he's considered fully-fledged and ushered into his own team of fighters. When neither of them are busy with work (Mundane or Supernatural), the pair often catch up or pass time with other Supernaturals. Theliel is much more extroverted than Zarall is, frequently introducing her to many new acquaintances.

-> Odessa: Zarall's newest charge, Odessa is a young Angel, extremely green behind the ears. Fresh out of basic schooling and newly experiencing Earth, Zarall has found her hands to be rather full with the youth's energy. In some aspects, Zarall is reminded of who she used to be whenever around Odessa.
Other:

-> Angels don't have surnames when they are created. However, to blend in with humans, they eventually have to pick one for themselves.

-> #003300

Username: Lycanious
Name: Zophiel ‘Zoe’ Summers

Age: 525
Gender: Female
Species: Angel
Appearance: With a small wingspan and a scrawny build, Zoe is much more suited for speed and agility rather than power when it comes to flight. Her wings are a soft, silvery colour with tips of dark asphalt, reminiscent of the many homing pigeons scattered around the city.  Long, wavy hair is kept neatly combed and often tied back in a simple ponytail to keep it off her face. Its natural colour is a dull silver matching her wings, but she dyes her hair a rich mahogany to maintain a more youthful appearance. Sea-green eyes stand out against her sun-tanned skin, and are generally bright and cheerful towards anyone she meets. She has a soft spot for long, flowing dresses as her fashion choice but begrudgingly wears simple shirts and pants with a pair of running shoes most of the time, as they are far more practical for unexpected encounters. Jewellery is a common accessory for her and changes frequently on a whim, with the exception of a necklace that she tends to keep tucked out of sight. Nothing particularly remarkable can be said about it, appearing to be a delicate silver chain with a pendant in the shape of an acorn, but she seem to regard it as a good luck charm whenever a dangerous or storm-filled flight is ahead of her.
Personality: Eager to please and always the optimist, Zoe is the sort of person who will gladly dive head-first into a dangerous situation with little to no back-up plan. She relies heavily on the element of surprise and her swiftness when dealing with her demonic foes, swooping in for a quick strike and then weaving in and out of range to dodge any counterattacks. Zoe is easily excitable, passionate in anything she does, and genuinely encouraging to others around her which gives her a friendly but sometimes overwhelming reputation. Perhaps her biggest downfall is her lack of patience, which can cause her to glaze over important details, and coupled with her naive tendency to take everything at face value she easily falls victim to manipulation. She views the ongoing conflict with the demons with perhaps a bit too much zeal than to be expected of her kind, but beneath her reckless approach to some situations there’s always a genuine desire to protect the lives of those around her.
Elemental Alignment: Air
Unique Power: N/A
Tattoo Location: N/A
Relationships:

Hrigjold (Deceased): An old angel friend she speaks fondly of from time-to-time, appearing to have served some sort of mentor role in Zoe’s earlier years and responsible for her combat style.

Forfax: Another angel whom Hrigjold took under her wing, Forfax and Zoe have known each other for centuries. With his preferred focus on raw power and brute strength the two compliment each other well, and while they have since gone their seperate ways they still have a strong bond and will gladly come to the others aid if needed.

Finley Jefferson: A werewolf employee of her store and the only other supernatural she has hired. With the exception of full moons he mostly runs the night shift for their more nocturnal customers. A down-to-Earth and trustworthy fellow that she has a solid friendship with.

Willow Burnett: Willow is the other notable employee of curiosity shop, and while only human she is aware of the otherworldly nature of some of the people that pass through the store and will direct them to her more knowledgable supervisors as needed.
Other: She is the owner of a Curiosities Shop in a quieter part of the city. While largely unassuming and mostly dealing with the usual antiques and oddities, she also uses it as a means to secure some of the magical items that have found themselves in the area. Harmless items such as benevolent charms or a cauldron or two can be legally sold or purchased from here if you know how to ask for them, but anything remotely dangerous she comes across is sent to the appropriate authorities.

Name: Odessa Lovechild (Odes, Odie, Dess are all viable nicknames. She'll answer to anything, really.)
Age: 72 years, appears roughly around 20 years of age.
Gender: Fluid. Typically appears feminine, but will occasionally switch to male.
Species: Angel (in training!)
Appearance: Odessa's most favorite physical appearance is that of a young, spry college student ready to take on the world. She's short, clocking in at about five foot one, with thin limbs that make her look younger than others. This leads her to be mistaken for a child quite often, though she doesn't mind in the slightest. Her skin is pale and sports quite the collection of freckles across the face, shoulders, and chest. (She has, in fact, mapped out a few of her favorite constellations with her freckles, and will insist that the placements are all intentional to reflect the heavens above) Her hair is a vibrant copper-red and flows in fine, silky strands just past her shoulders, though usually her hair is kept up in a loose bun or Leia-style double-top buns (she can't braid to save her life, but will ceaselessly pester anyone she knows to do it for her). She has a round, sweet face and a bright grin, which has earned her the nickname of "Cherub" on more than one occasion. Her eyes are wide and a vivid blue, almost to a point of distraction for people who haven't met her before. Eyebrows are thick and expressive, but surprisingly well-shaped. Female Odessa Example 1 Female Odessa 2

Whenever Odessa expresses as a young man, he grows to a few inches taller at five foot six. He becomes less soft-looking and more lean, with harder edges of muscle to his shoulders and straight, narrow hips. He often sports a neatly-trimmed red beard, though his hair remains long (he's a big fan of the "man-bun" trend). He has less freckles this way, and his cheek and jaw bones are more prominent. Regardless of which gender he expresses on any given day, his nails are painted in various colors-- often color coordinating with his outfit in some way. A favorite outfit, however, is the jean overall-shorts and a brightly colored tie-dye tee-shirt. Odessa seems to own every color available of converse sneakers, high top or low. More often than not, she can be found with a candy of some sort in her pocket or mouth. Male Odessa 1 (older) Male Odessa 2

Odessa's wings are large and long like that of a swan; they stretch out to extreme lengths, with elegant, closely-packed primaries and secondaries. Because of the oils in the feathers, she's quite skilled at diving into water at a second's notice and springing back out again into the air. (In fact, she does this on a regular basis, even when it's completely unnecessary.) The color pattern mimics that of a black swan, with jet-black coverts and white primaries, with partial white secondaries as well.
Personality: Odessa is a firecracker. She's a bundle of endless energy, always raring to get out and do something for the world. Even if there aren't any demons to slay, she's got the itch to be useful and prove to the older angels that she's ready to take on responsibility. Of course, this deep-seeded restlessness has proven to be more troublesome than anything, since Odessa acts first and asks questions later-- way, way later, if she remembers to at all. She wants desperately to earn the respect and approval of her angel peers, but she also is less inclined to follow in their archaic footsteps when it comes to other supernaturals and prejudice. Odessa wants to believe the best in everyone and everything, even at the expense of her own safety. She's not the best at following orders, but she promises she has a good reason why! Many angels are exasperated with her because of this, but it never dampens her determination. She'll just try harder next time! Odessa also has a bit of a habit of being too trusting and too open with her fascination of Earth, and has been known on more than one occasion to speak of things humans shouldn't know (or more pointedly, that she shouldn't know about their lives) or let slip information best kept in angelic circles. Most of the time she's unaware of it happening until it's too late, as she can get caught up in moments of excitement or in her burning desire to help whomever she comes across.

She's a terribly pathetic liar, and usually can be read like an open book. Because she hasn't quite adapted to living among humans, she's got some strange habits, like bedding down in bizarre places (bathtubs are a constant, but every once in a while she can be found dozing in a bed. Rarely ever her own, though.) or rattling off random bits of Earth facts to anyone who will listen. Socially she's very gregarious and extroverted, and can miss social cues if not paying close attention. Not that Odessa isn't capable of dialing back the enthusiasm and relaxing for a while-- it just takes some careful direction by others to get to that point.

Tends to glamour her weapons as toy guns and the like, mostly because she finds it hilarious.
Elemental Alignment: Fire
Unique Power: n/a
Tattoo Location: n/a
Relationships:

Zarall: An older angel assigned to supervise Odessa and keep her out of trouble. Odessa's given her a headache more than once, but she genuinely enjoys being around Zarall and hopes to one day be on par with her abilities and ranking. Odessa has made it a life mission to get her to lighten up, even just a little.

Vasaliel: An angel who seems quite opposite of Odessa in terms of emotional expression; he doesn't seem to have many, and reminds Odessa more of a robot than an angel. She gets her kicks from trying to find ways to fluster him or invoke some sort of emotional response. So far, zilch-- but that doesn't mean she won't keep trying.

Lotus: A much more cynical angel than Odessa is used to being around. He's grouchy and downright mean at times, and though Odessa's not particularly fond of him and his attitude, she still tries to help him if she thinks he needs assistance. Which he never fails to tell her he doesn't, but that never seems to deter her anyway.

Corvulus: Another angel that Odessa thinks could use a bit of cheer in their life, but she's a bit more cowed in their presence than others. In fact, the intensity of this angel even frightens her a bit, to a point that she sometimes finds herself ducking behind another friend to avoid their glare. She's much less inclined to misbehave or run off with Corvulus keeping a watchful eye.

Lizette O'Conner: She's a young vampire, and the first that Odessa has met so far in her life on Earth. She's one of the few people able to match Odessa's energy and keep up with her excited chatter. However, because she's a vampire, Odessa rarely gets the chance to see her, especially when Lizette works at the nightclubs that the older angels have forbid Odessa from stepping foot in.

Theliel: The most recent of Zarall's students, Odessa takes to him like a bee to honey. She admires him greatly, and hangs on his every word like a little sister to an older sibling. He likens her to a puppy with how much she tries to follow him around.
Other: She's surprisingly elusive for a young angel, much to the older angels' dismay.

Name: Aphaeleon, though goes by "Edge" now. Could never be bothered to pick out a surname.
Age: 681 years
Gender: Male
Species: Angel
Appearance: Aphaeleon doesn't settle on an appearance for very long, though he tends to stick with a masculine presentation for the most part. He's chosen a six-foot three tall man with broad shoulders and a strong jaw this time around, and he's opted for the chiseled shape of a thoroughly-ripped lumberjack, with the large pectorals and biceps of a man that performs manual labor on the regular (he doesn't). Thick red-brown hair curls over his arms, chest, and backside, with a scruffy and unkempt chestnut beard to match. His head hair is kept short, though longer on top and the tips of it flop over his forehead. It's darker in color than his beard, closer to a dark walnut. His eyes are narrow and low-lidded with thick, wiry eyebrows sat above to give him a natural scowl, even when content. The color of his irises are a light brown that borders on amber, and given his level of exhaustion may lighten or darken in hue. His skin is a warm tan, though it is not uncommon to find him flushed pink over the cheeks, chest, and shoulders, since for some reason he appears to enjoy the look of sunburns.  He has straight white teeth and a slightly unsettling grin.

His wardrobe doesn't seem very large. Most of the time, the easiest way to find him is to pick out the man wearing a red flannel with ripped sleeves and missing the first three top buttons, and a pair of light-wash blue jeans that were fashioned into shorts from the legs being torn at the knees. (He's a man of few tastes, and the lumberjack aesthetic is definitely among them) Other ensembles include old ratty jeans and no shirt, or a slightly stained, white form-fitting t-shirt and jeans. He always wears the same well-worn tan leather hiking boots unless bare foot. Aphaeleon is rarely ever found without a cigarette in his mouth, even if it does absolutely nothing to him physically (and half the time he forgets to light it anyway). A gold chain necklace is occasionally worn, and his left earlobe has a two gold studs and a hoop going up the cusp. Sometimes he wears a silver band on his ring finger, though no one really knows why. And he won't tell you.

His wings are the wide, sweeping span of a barn owl's with less visible pattern. Faint bands can be made out in a light faded gray at the tips of the primaries when stretched. Otherwise, the inner sides of the wings are a soft, snowy white. The outer wing sides have gentle silver smudges and speckling over the coverts.
Personality: Aphaeleon was never a particularly friendly fellow, but he's not exactly rude or mean. Just a bit of an ass as a whole. As he grew older and spent more time on earth, the more he withdrew from the company of other angels and kept more to himself until he dismissed himself from service altogether. Though occasionally volatile, he's not dangerous to others-- unless they severely irritate him-- and he certainly isn't a danger to humans, though that could be argued depending on definition. He's not interested in saving humanity at all. Perhaps he was as a fledgling angel, but now he's rather jaded and sees no point in sacrificing himself or others for the betterment of humanity, who's doing a splendid job of mucking everything up as it is. He's not so bitter as to let them all perish, but he's not in the business of going out of his way to help anyone. Most of his interest lies in the earth herself and making sure the humans don't screw her up more than they already have. He might not look like your average tree-hugging activist (and he might be inclined to punch you in the teeth if you say otherwise), especially given his habitual smoking, but he does spend time talking to tree spirits and animals and cleaning up messes left by humans. He's got a huge preference for the world over humanity, and he doesn't hesitate to let anyone know.

He does, however, make for some interesting company to other supernaturals who need a guns-blazing angel on their side. If he can make some good money off the quarry, he can be easily convinced to tag along. He also simply just likes the hunt, so that reason can be just as good as the profit he might yet to make. Exploiting the humans for monetary gain has never been an issue for him, though he's not in much need of an income due to the fact that he makes plenty bank from selling off the gems and crystals produced by demon hunting. He tends to use the money gained from this for alcohol or board. No one can figure out where the rest of his money goes.

Edge has been known to swear to the excess and be an aggressive nuisance from time to time. Most angels leave him be after he proclaimed his leave from the Holy War due to how intense he gets about the topic. He's yet to actually hurt someone on purpose, though.
Elemental Alignment: Earth
Unique Power: n/a
Tattoo Location: n/a
Relationships:

Reydris Carmichael: The owner of Silver Shot, the bar-slash-nightclub that Edge occasionally winds up at. He doesn't care for human establishments and despite that vampires don't make him any less annoyed, he finds them more tolerable than humanity as a whole. Reydris is also one of the only people who will fence his strange gems and crystals for cash. She doesn't talk to him much outside business, and has only asked for his assistance once in the entire time he's lived in the city. She paid him in beer, so it made little difference to him what the favor was.

Prudence: A strange little goblin creature that glamours themselves to look like a tiny old woman. They've taken a shine to Edge after he saved them from a demon attack, though he swears he had no idea Prudence was even around at the time. He appears to begrudgingly accept their presence, especially if they bring him some good goblin hooch or some delicious shortbread cookies swiped from the nearby bakery. Prudence is also the reason he's taken to the name "Edge" over his angel name by telling him he looked like a "[redacted] edgelord" during the Goth phase he had a while back. He thought it was hilarious and responds to nothing else.

Scott Warington: a werewolf from one of the packs in the city (Edge doesn't know which and doesn't care) that leads a more loner-style life from what Edge can tell. Most of the time Edge only sees him at bars or wandering the streets late at night, but there was that one time that Edge was dipping in the river when Scott ended up drifting down the way and colliding with his bare backside. There was a decent amount of loud swearing involved. It was awkward.

Since then, though, they occasionally buy each other a drink.

Forfax: an angel that has tried in the past to get Edge to return to duty. Edge has taken to throwing rocks at him until he leaves.

Corvulus: Edge particularly doesn't like Corvulus. They're an intense presence that demands respect by virtue of their power alone, yet Edge really doesn't...care. Which infuriates Corvulus all the more. There has been more than one occasion that the two of them have fought, with neither more victorious than the other (mostly because Corvulus doesn't believe in killing other angels, which might have been the only way for Edge to stay out of their hair). The two of them are rarely ever civil in each others' presence.

Vasaliel: Despite that he and Edge were actually assigned partners when they first arrived to earth together, Vasaliel doesn't appear too upset that Edge has abandoned his duty to revel in his own interests instead. He occasionally keeps touch with Edge, if only to give updates on the demons or request for back up. Most of the time Edge declines, but there have been a few rare circumstances where he lent a bullet or two to help.
Other:

He really likes animals. No one knows that he invested a good chunk of his demon-hunting money in a piece of empty land on the outskirts of the city to build a home for abandoned pets. He's been known to liberate a number of animals from the local shelter, and he keeps them well fed and taken care of in his secret estate. Not that he lives there-- he tends to bounce from motel to motel and sometimes the riverbank if he can't be particularly bothered to go anywhere else. Every once in a while a dog or cat will follow behind him when he cruises the streets.

Werewolves

Quote

Username: ValidEmotions
Name: Imelda Roy
Age: 29 Years
Gender: Female
Species: Werewolf
Appearance:

-> Human: Imelda stands no taller than 5'3" and weighs about 137 pounds, placing a bit of meat on her otherwise lithe frame; though, much of it is muscle. She's built like a professional boxer with a slightly tanned, olive skin tone to declare her Hispanic ethnicity. Her face is round and blemished with a couple small moles; one is near the center of her left cheek while the other sits on the right-side edge of her jawbone. Her eyes are maple brown and rest on either side of a pointed nose and narrow bridge. Her hair is dark brown and kept short, the strands loose and swept to the right, ending at the nape of her neck. Due to the natural body heat she gained as a Werewolf, she commonly wears tank tops and shorts, sometimes capris of the cargo and multi-pocket sort, with sneakers.

-> Wolf: Like her human form, Imelda is on the smaller end as a werewolf. Reaching no taller than six feet, her eyes are become hazel, and her fur is patterned like a collie with rust-red along her back and white on her front. Imelda's pelt is longer in many places: her neck, shoulders, back, and tail. Her build is stockier than expected, implying that she moves and hits like a tank - slower but heavier.
Personality: Imelda is, generally, a softie. She loves to cuddle up on the couch with anyone and everyone who wants to. If you enter her room, you'll find a mountain of stuffed animals of various species just occupying her bed. Enjoying fun times much better than work, Imelda is always up for last minute get-together plans - any occasion to hang out and connect with friends. She's very social and often easily finds something to talk about. However, she's almost never approachable early in the morning; someone will lose their head if it's before 10:00 AM. Despite her seemingly carefree personality, Imelda carries a lot on her shoulders, even if the burden isn't hers to bear. The easiest way for her to relax, besides cuddling, is beating up a punching bag or going for a run.
Elemental Alignment: N/A
Unique Power: N/A
Tattoo Location: Centered just above her navel.
Relationships:

-> Zoe Céspedes: Zoe is a human who regularly stops at the café that Imelda works in. They have a good friendship with laidback, flirtatious exchanges. Very fond of small children but unable to have her own due to infertility, Zoe teaches third grade students at B. Greenhills Elementary School. On occasion, the duo will meet up on the weekends to marathon movies at one of the local theaters, critiquing those they loved or hated.

-> Harper Patton: A firefighter and another human, Harper is good friends with Zoe but not quite fond of Imelda. As such, the two don't interact often and consider each other as simply acquaintances. However, Imelda can smell Harper's jealousy and distaste for her. She's pretty certain that Harper has a thing for Zoe and isn't happy about the playful flirting. The woman just doesn't seem to have the courage yet to take the teacher out for a date.

-> Bev Thompson: Fellow Werewolf and pack member, Bev is one of Imelda's closest companions. She's lower in ranking that Imelda is but not by much. Bev plays a mean game of basketball and makes a great sparring buddy. Unfortunately, Bev hates Vampires and Angels with a passion which distresses Imelda. There isn't much she can do, though, except to keep her away from Da'wan and Zarall.

-> Zarall: A rather quiet Angel, Imelda sometimes doesn't know what to think of her. She knows the Angel is dedicated to her work and has as much a protective instinct as any Werewolf Imelda has met. Beyond that, she's still trying to piece together who the Angel is.

-> Alex Rutledge: Another pack member, Alex is an older wolf and sometimes rather stiff or stuffy in personality. Imelda tolerates him but she would much prefer it if he dropped much of his "traditionalist" ways. Such as viewing many women as inferior beings who need a man to help them ('save them' is what she likes to imagine him believing) with virtually everything in life. It doesn't help that he outranks her.

-> Venusta Meglio: One of two Vampires that Imelda personally knows. Imelda tries her best not to hate anyone but Venusta easily broke through that line. She despises the Vampire and everything about her. Unfortunately, neutrality laws prevent her from outright hunting the Supernatural down. At least the feeling is mutual.

-> Taamir el-Ismail: Her co-worker and a human around her age. Imelda views Taamir as her younger brother (even though he's a year older than her). He's a good man, raising a young pair of daughters and grieving the loss of his wife. Despite working full-time and raising kids as a heartbroken single-parent, the man is making every effort to complete his Art degree in photography.

-> Emilio Espinar: A Werewolf of the Eastside pack, Imelda met him during a Task Force response to a threat that had migrated from another city. She likes him well enough: funny, good looking, and an older wolf raised during the Vietnam war. It's easy enough to tell that he's interested in her but she hasn't made any effort to return his advances.

-> Da'wan Steele: Being the other Vampire that Imelda knows, she likes this one a lot better. Da'wan and Zarall don't get along like two peas in a pod but they tolerate each other and that's good enough for Imelda. She likes to joke around about Da'wan being the third member of their Task Force Team (even though they aren't an official team). While she doesn't know where his Menagerie is, she has met one of his Sheep and it's clear that this Vampire at least takes decent care of the Humans living with him.
Other:

-> Changed almost five years ago, shortly after turning 24.

Name: Larisa (Lara) Valerius
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Species: Werewolf
Appearance:

Human: Lara stands to a height of five feet and seven inches, with a body toned into hard, sinewy muscle along the shoulders, abdomen, and thighs. Though she doesn't appear to be any more a vision of grace and sophistication than anyone else, Lara is surprisingly nimble on her feet. Years of dance study kept her reflexes sharp and her body limber, and she can bend at impressive or otherwise alarming angles. Long, thick black hair tumbles down her shoulders and reaches roughly mid-back in length with soft waves. She keeps her hair loose most times, but occasionally will wind it up in a high ponytail, or even more rarely, a sloppy bun. Her eyes are almond-shaped and tilted very slightly upward at the corners, with irises of a two-toned hazel: bright golden brown toward the pupil spike outward into a light green, ringed in a deep jade. Both eyebrows are thin and sharply angled over her eyes, which tend to define the smoldering expression she wears at most times. The color of her skin is a smooth, tanned olive, marred only by a two dark freckles on her throat and one on her left shoulder. She has high-set cheekbones and a sharp jawline with a long, pretty neck and prominent collarbone.

Lara's outfits are generally more casual now that her modelling contract has expired. She gravitates more toward jeans or yoga pants and a flowy top or tank, though all of her "casual" attire still appears pulled off the pages of a fashion magazine. Her favorite at the moment are a pair of well-worn blue jeggings, a white tank that exposes the midriff, and a large, open green flannel. Since her contract expired a couple weeks ago, she's indulged herself a little with a titanium eyebrow piercing through the lower corner of her right eyebrow. A hoop also sits in the upper corner of her ear, and she is never seen without the gold-set diamond ear studs.

Wolf: A tall, lithe beast at seven feet and three inches. Rippling muscle shows along her chest and shoulders and in the thick coil of muscle of her thighs. The fur is sleek and glossy along her backside, stomach, and hind legs, but is drastically dense around the neck, jaw, shoulders, chest, and forearms. Her color is nearly identical to a Weimaraner dog's: gun-metal gray, like tarnished silver or slate that darkens considerably when wet. Eyes turn into a pale gold, borderline yellow and rimmed in black. The snout is long and narrow, and the ears are fluffy and slightly larger than average.
Personality: Before Lara was turned, she was a laid-back kind of youth who enjoyed a bit of teenage rebellion every once in a while. She wasn't necessarily a bad kid, nor did she ever find herself in a situation she couldn't sweet-talk her way out of, but she was a bit of a pain in the ass to her parents by coming home late or going to college parties with her brothers. She'd planned on going through the community college to rack up her undergraduate credits and transfer to a larger university to pursue her love of dance and art, but her parents were largely in disagreement with her choices. But, they couldn't stop her from doing what she wanted, for Lara was headstrong and stuck to her guns even under the threat of being cut off from family funding. She didn't care. She had dreams, and damn it, she was going to achieve them!

That is, until her parents were killed by demons. Their deaths shattered Lara's world, and she dropped out of college and became angry and snappish. When the werewolf who defeated the demons offered her a place among his family, she jumped at the chance to find somewhere she could belong that wasn't still full of heartache and anguish. With this new power, Lara regained some of her self confidence, though her good-natured playfulness is only rarely expressed. She's still stubborn as hell and reckless with her decisions, and you'll be hard pressed to get her to admit to any wrongdoing if she feels her actions were justified. Though not overtly friendly or welcoming to outsiders, she is capable of making acquaintances and developing close bonds with people she's come to trust. Lara absolutely loathes traitors-- nothing wrecks her more than the betrayal of trust she has for someone. She likes to believe she doesn't trust easy, and it's true that she's wary around most, but she'll never admit that she has a huge weakness for compassion and affection. In fact, she is often easily flustered as a result. She's a bit touch starved and doesn't know what to do with herself when shown physical affection.
Elemental Allignment: n/a
Unique Power: n/a
Tattoo Location: Nape of the neck.
Relationships:

Matthias Valerius: The leader of the Westside Pack. When Lara's parents were killed, he was the one to track down the demons responsible and kill them. To him, Lara was so similar to the daughter he once had as a human, and he offered her a place among his pack since he realized how lost she'd become in aftermath of the attack. She became a surrogate daughter for him and was adopted into his family as though she were blood. He trained and raised her as a werewolf and feels directly responsible for her as her father. However, the two of them are currently at extreme odds, since Matthias is responsible for the death of Lara's human girlfriend who had accidentally found out about the pack before Lara was ready to explain and threatened to call the authorities.

Dionne Valerius: Matthias's wife and the matriarch of the Westside Pack. She is an excellent hunter and taught Lara the ways of the hunt. Though she and Lara have developed a mother-daughter bond, Lara never calls her by anything but her name. She empathizes with Lara for the death of her girlfriend and parents, but stands by her husband's decision. Her role has become mediator between the two of them during their fights.

Jason Ruthsberg: A fellow werewolf in the Westside Pack, he's a sunny young man with a zest for life. He immensely enjoys being a werewolf, though he's never revealed to Lara the circumstances that led to it. His upbeat nature helps Lara unwind and relax, and has become akin to her brother over the years. The two of them make a terrifying pair when it comes to fighting alongside each other, as they both came to the pack around the same time and learned to control the wolf together.

Elijah Pike: A werewolf bitten by a rogue some years ago. Lara found him shortly after his first transformation and was able to corral his wild and feral rampage by taking him down in a fight. In truth, Elijah is a sweet-natured young man who tends to be a little shy, and follows Lara's direction more than anyone else-- much to Matthias's chagrin.

Vincent Vainu'upo: Lara's oldest brother from her human life. He doesn't know what happened to her, only that she disappeared a couple weeks after their parents' deaths. He currently lives in the city and takes care of their other brother Ulysses. He's large in stature and looks every bit of a Samoan warrior, though he's truly a gentle giant at heart.

Ulysses Vainu'upo: Lara's second oldest brother, the middle child. He and Lara were thick as thieves due to how close in age they were, and he was often the source of the trouble Lara got into by enabling her rebellious phases. Though he took the death of their parents hard, he was more affected by Lara's disappearance. He still attends college at the local community school, and though neither he nor Vincent know it, Lara still checks on them both from time to time. Ulysses is not as large as Vincent, and in fact looks more like Lara than his older brother or their father, who was full-blooded Samoan.

Lucas Garcia: A human that Lara can't tell if she likes or not. He's a bit odd and keeps to himself most times, and usually she only ever sees him at the Silver Shot nightclub, but he doesn't feel threatening despite his knowledge of the supernatural. If anything, she finds him to be a curious being, and is often tempted to follow him around and see what kind of things he gets into.

Kendall Del Mar: A werewolf from the Eastside Pack with some questionable inhibitions and a loose grasp on the definition of loyalty. She doesn't spend much time with her pack, which is how Lara ended up meeting her in the first place. The two of them have become steady friends, often complaining about the conditions of their packs and trading dreams of running far, far away.

Johnathon Coleson-Davies: The human owner of the cafe that Lara is currently employed at. His cafe is small and only supports a handful of employees, but he somehow always seems to find room for any wayward supernaturals that come looking for a place away from the pressure of their families and clans. His cafe is somewhat of a safe haven for supernaturals, though no one really knows why. He is a kind man with a turbulent history and a great deal of patience.

Vasaliel: A strange angel of middle-age who doesn't appear to show much outward emotion. At first Lara was uncertain if the angel distrusted werewolves (she wouldn't be surprised, of course) but more than one occasion he has saved her neck when the fights became too close for comfort. He's never expressed any thing close to sentiment to her before, despite randomly remarking things like "You did an adequate job" and "you certainly did kill that one, yes." She still can't tell if he's going for condescending or if those comments are supposed to be genuine compliments. She does prefer him to most of the other angels she meets, if only because she finds his stoic, unbothered stares preferable to the distaste the others look at her with.
Other: Lara was turned at nineteen of age, despite the risks.

Name: Chase Weston
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Species: Werewolf
Appearance: Chase stands at a respectable 6'1 with a lean build forged through rigorous discipline.  His dark hair is thin and cropped short on the sides, left longer at the top and occasionally tousled with some gel. His deep set, hooded eyes and his greek nose both allude to his mixed east-asian and european heritage, as do his strong, clean shaven jawline and the barely visible freckles dotting his tan skin. During the summer he is naturally darker from all the time he spends outside and while he does not care for his appearance other than his personal need to be clean and comfortable, the pastels and autumn tones in his wardrobe all seem to harmonize with each other no matter what he chooses to wear. He typically carries himself in a relaxed manner but nevertheless with proper posture, lips neutral with a slight hint of a frown. Overall, unless deeply moved, he is not very expressive at all.

As a wolf he has short, sleek pelt in a similar coloration to a Rottweiler: black, with a deep caramel on his muzzle, chest, legs, and on the spots above his eyes. His height translates to nearly eight feet of dog from toes to the tips of his ears; his body is square, strong, and angular in build. His eyes turn a startling amber orange and his tail features longer fur.

Personality: Methodical, focused, and attentive to detail, Chase finds solace in keeping his life organized, partitioned, and on schedule. He is introspective, taking time to silently think before coming to a resolution, and he seems to hide within him a wisdom beyond his years. This combination of traits has allowed him to excel academically and athletically throughout his high school years -- all while having a relative amount of good fun.

His achievements and good looks have gained him a fair amount of popularity in school. Much like the constant romantic attempts on his life, he doesn't pay much attention to it -- but he doesn't overtly dislike it, either. He hates when people are indecisive or change plans on a whim. While known to be blunt and plagued with an itching desire to correct people who are wrong or annoying, Chase has learned that some fights just aren't worth starting.

Tattoo Location: A small black tribal butterfly, the size of a quarter, is inscribed onto Chase's left cheek. He shamefully covers it with a square bandaid and when asked about it he mutters something about having a cut or a rash on his face.

Relationships:
Mom and Dad: As an only child, Chase is fortunate enough to have a good family situation and a solid financial base thanks to two working parents. They get along well, he thinks, even though at times his dad tells him he should get out more and live a little. As of late, Chase has been struggling to hide both the new tattoo and the whole wolf situation from them. However, even his normally strict mother has been letting him come and go as he pleases, having interpreted her son's evasiveness as a sign of his growing independence.

Janelle Weston: Chase's stepsister from his father's first marriage. She is into her thirties now, and he doesn't know what she's up to. He barely knows her but she's the only "family" he really has, outside of his blood parents.

Silverleaf Sylphids: Chase has a close camaraderie with his school's soccer team. If there's anyone to get him to hang out with after school or get looped into a house party, it'd be one of these guys.

Tracey Haynes: An ex-girlfriend. He didn't feel like he had any chemistry, so he broke it off. As a result, she has been incredibly evasive of him as of late despite a previously strong friendship.

???: Chase isn't sure who was the wolf who turned him or what they want, but all he knows is that they did so carefully and consciously, based on his internet research and the time of month of his attack. He thinks he remembers a black and white mottled pelt in the darkness.

Other:

Chase is pretty good at the piano, but it would take a fair amount goading before he is willing to perform for someone.
He has all his college applications in order but the terrible timing of the change has forced him to reconsider some of them. He hopes to get into a prestigious school to study political science, and then law.

Name: Reydris ("ray-dree") Carmichael
Age: 796 years, appearance of 28
Gender: Female
Species: Vampire
Appearance: Reydris is a tall, elegantly proportioned woman at five feet and ten inches. She's slightly willowy in the limbs to emphasize the grace in which she moves, and this regal bearing follows her in every motion. The build of her musculature is lithe and trimmed, and the strength she wields is only ever suggested in the strong carve of muscle of her backside and the sleek sculpt of her abdomen and calves. Her hair is kept long and it flows in straight, fine dark strands down her backside. Though at night her hair color appears black, it is truly just a rich, dark brown that shows itself under lamp light. Reydris will typically fashion her hair into a tight, neat bun when working or a braid, and only lets her hair down when hunting or otherwise unpreoccupied by her career. Her eyes are pale gray-blue; the color was once vivid and beautiful, but at the loss of her humanity they have faded into unsettling chips of ice, barely accented by the dark ring around the iris. When hungry or fighting, the remaining color appears to drain into an eerie and lifeless grey. Like her eyes, her skin has lightened considerably, and would almost be considered a sickly pallor if she ever was seen in strong light. She can be a rather striking individual to look at, compounded only by the wealth she wears and the solemn, nearly dangerous confidence she radiates.

Reydris dresses with affluence: work nights she can be seen in a form-fitting suit and tie and polished loafers, as no-nonsense and "I own you" as physically possible to exude. When not busy conducting her business, she can still be found dressed to the nines in slender cocktail dresses, though she never passes the opportunity to relax in a nice pair of slacks, a silk button down, and blazer if appropriate. A large bronze ring set with a silver pearl and filigree can be found on her hand at all times, though she tends to wear multiple different rings at once. Most of her make-up is simple and only sharp enough to accentuate her natural facial structure. Eyebrows are kept well-manicured and finely angled to lend an air of cold indifference to her resting expression.
Personality: Reydris was not always the kingpin of the city's nightclub scene, but she didn't get there by being nice. As a human, Rey was once gentle-- jovial, even, with a streak of mischief and penchant for trouble that she somehow always foxed her way out of. She enjoyed her life and made the most of her circumstances, and might have made quite a name for herself in the history books if she hadn't been kidnapped and forced into a supernatural life. She found out rather quickly that the life of a vampire meant squandering any and all relations from her past life, and that no matter what, she was all she could depend on. Reydris's nature changed along with her fate, leaving her reclusive and estranged from most others. She's quiet, preferring to observe more than be engaged before she knows all of the elements in play. Though reserved, she does interact with others in the Seethe with little reluctance, and there are a select few she's comfortable enough around to consider amicable acquaintances-- though, if you ever asked her, she'd never admit to having friends.  She does not, however, tolerate insubordination and has no qualms with enacting punishment as she sees fit. Because of this, Reydris has found a foothold of respect among her kind, as well as any of the other supernaturals who take advantage of the establishments she owns. She can be cruel if necessary, though she leaves this for a last resort considering her skill with convincing others to make up their transgressions one way or another.

That isn't to say that Reydris is completely heartless; quite the opposite, really, but she fiercely guards this part of herself from prying eyes. Though it is known among the Seethe that she does not keep a Menagerie to herself-- the clubs supply plenty of what she needs, when she needs it-- most are unaware that the reason she no longer keeps one is because of the human woman named Amaya who had once been part of it long ago.

Most of the time her demeanor is cool and unaffected, especially to strangers. She doesn't care much for how others see her, so long as they don't get in her way or cause problems for her business, but she has no issue with being frank or even a bit of an ass if it keeps everything properly in line. In a more casual setting, Reydris has been known to smile and partake in mild banter.
Elemental Alignment: n/a
Unique Power: Reydris cannot be lied to or deceived; she can tell when someone speaks a fabrication of the truth or illusions, no matter the complexity of the deception. She cannot tell what the exact truth is unless it is spoken directly, but knows immediately if someone attempts to obscure it with lies or alter the details of it. This can be gleaned from both words or body language. Because of this, she's also immune to illusion magic and glamours. This ability can be parsed into "real, not real," for this allows her to tell what is authentic and what is not, even with material items.

It is because of this that most vampires believe she's gained her money from bets and gambling-- something she doesn't care to dispute, given her fondness of poker.

After all, it doesn't prevent her from lying.
Tattoo Location: n/a
Relationships:

The Mistress: Reydris has proven herself to be quite useful to the Seethe and is one of the handful of vampires considered close to the Mistress. To Reydris, though, she considers this position more of a business relationship, despite that Rey occasionally uses the affectionate term "Maman"  for her whenever she is feeling in a particularly good mood. The "familial" bond between her and the rest of the Seethe is more superficial than anything else, even if she considers herself loyal to the Mistress.

Seamus and Don: Two male vampires Reydris has known for a few hundred years. They are brothers and work for her at the clubs she owns as bouncers and bodyguards. While Reydris was not the one to turn either of them, the boys tend to joke about being her "thralls" or personal goons.

Amaya Labasque (deceased): A human woman who had joined Rey's Menagerie some three hundred-odd years ago. Rey was not particularly horrible to her humans, but Amaya was able to coax out a kinder side to her, eventually leading to a romance between them. She decided to become a vampire to live her days with Rey, but died as a result of the ritual instead of turning.

Scott Warington: A regular customer at her more famous club, The Sunset Lounge. He is one of the few werewolves to frequent her establishments, but is attracted to the safety it offers from the human world. In exchange for Reydris's protection, he gives her information from around the city and any from outside it that he comes across. Which happens to be a substantial amount, much to her surprise.

Tilde Farris: A vampire slightly younger than herself who also happens to be in the Mistress's good graces, though their usefulness is separate from Rey's. They are mysterious vampire who always appears interested in Reydris's business, though they've never overstepped their bounds or outright challenged Rey's authority.

Lotus: A rather pessimistic angel who has no love of vampires, but works with Reydris (or rather, exchanges information with, considering she doubts the angel would ever fight alongside her) in regards to the demons. He has no issue with hiding his distrust and distaste of her and her kind, but so far he's made no serious threat to break the neutrality laws, so Reydris takes his attitude in stride. He doesn't step foot inside any of her clubs and only meets with her on the rooftops. Though it is never public what the clubs are actually used for, she can sense that he has an idea of what they are, though none of the angels that have come to inspect the premises have found any damning evidence. He never fails to make it clear, however, that he will personally be the one to see to her comeuppance if he ever discovers otherwise.

Lizette O'Conner: A spunky and rather up-beat individual with a knack for finding solutions to tricky situations. She's a much younger vampire, though old enough to leave the Seethe on her own. Reydris keeps her on hand whenever possible, usually as a bartender or server if anyone particularly important visits.

Ophelia Drake: One of the wealthy humans who visits the clubs (namely The Sunset Lounge, though she's shown herself at Silver Shot on occasion). She has no idea about the supernatural clients or the owners, and Reydris personally ensures it stays that way. The human presence does help keep her businesses out of suspicion, so Reydris has no issue with dialing up the sense of camaraderie whenever Ophelia and the like turn up. She is one of the few humans to come to the clubs that Reydris does not allow others to touch.

Lucas Garcia: On the other hand, Lucas is a human who is intimately aware of the supernatural presence in the city. He can almost always be found at Silver Shot in a back booth. In exchange for free booze and the occasional meal, Lucas is one of Reydris's informants. He has a strange habit of finding information for Reydris he shouldn't have access to, but she never presses him for details.

August Dean-Kelly: The human owner of a few other upscale nightlife establishments. Technically a business rival, he's yet to make a move toward competing directly with her clubs and even goes out of his way to meet with Reydris and her associates to foster a positive relationship between their businesses. He's a lying jackass, but considering he's done nothing to warrant action quite yet, Reydris keeps him around-- just at arm's length.
Edge: An angel customer to her Silver Shot bar. He doesn't seem particularly keen on angel business, especially given how often he comes to her to exchange the precious gems he somehow gets a hold of. They're authentic, so she doesn't ask many questions. She's only called on his help once and isn't terribly certain she ever will again. She'd pay good money to see him fist fight another angel, though.

Other:

Has a bit of a weakness for pretty ladies, though she rarely ever acts on it. Speaks English, French, and Italian fluently, and can manage conversational Spanish if needed. She lives in a penthouse in one of the taller skyscrapers in the city, and owns an impressive collection of swords from around the world that she displays in the main room.

Name: Julien Delacroix
Age: 450 (Looks to be late 20s-early 30s.)
Gender: Male
Species: Vampire
Appearance: Notably tall and rather gaunt in appearance, Julien tends to tower over the average person. Honey-blonde hair is kept short and often stuffed under a hat in an attempt to tame the unruly mess of curls resting just below his chin, but it’s always a futile endeavour in the end. The rest of him at least is kept well-groomed, always clean-shaven and unsightly blemishes non-existent. His once deep-blue eyes have now dulled to grey with age and always seem to have a sense of weariness in them, sometimes having grey bags under them that contrast strongly with his pale skin. Even for a vampire these eyes are quite light-sensitive, indoor lighting alone can have an unpleasant glare, so they are usually hidden behind a pair of tinted glasses. Julien has not adapted well to a modern fashion style, preferring to wear his perfectly tailored suits when out of uniform no matter what kind of weather is raging on outdoors. He has a particular fondness for rich, deep shades of blue, which most of his clothing will reflect if given the opportunity.
Personality: A rather private individual and a long way from home, Julien spends most of his spare time curled up in his apartment trying to amuse himself with books he’s already read or some particularly thrilling crossword puzzles. General consensus from those familiar with him is that he’s a bit too skittish with a flair for the melodramatic, convinced that if something can go wrong then it probably will. It causes him to have a rather cynical outlook on life and prompts him to over-analyse most of his decisions, but it does leave him well-prepared for unexpected problems. Despite his asocial tendencies he can be a surprisingly effective diplomat, easily catching on to the concerns of all parties involved and striving to avoid conflict while maintaining a respectable middle-ground. He’s at heart a performer, plagued by fears and doubts in his daily life but able to force a smile on his face and put on a show if he thinks it will convince people that everything’s fine.

Elemental Alignment: N/A
Unique Power: Julien can transform himself into a mist-like form at will, appearing to dissipate into the air only to solidify elsewhere moments later. He tends to go unnoticed as a sudden patch of fog floating by to the unobservant, though even mortals can get a chill and a vague sense of being watched if they pass through it. While unable to move through solid matter he can squeeze through some surprisingly small gaps in this form, the general rule being that if a puff of air can get through it then so can he. Physical attacks are useless against him, but he is still highly susceptible to magic and psychic abilities.

Tattoo Location: N/A

Relationships:

Elliot Ravenwood: Master of the once-proud Ravenwood Seethe that Julien belongs to. Has been quite elusive in recent years and only appears to his most trusted allies. His primary reason for sending Julien to this city is to build trust and gain favour with the local Mistress, hoping to eventually form a beneficial alliance of some sort.

Violet Carbello: A high-ranking member of his Seethe back at home, a cheerful omnilingualist that seems to be his only semi-regular contact with them. Will occasionally visit the city to keep Julien, and by extension the local Seethe, informed of what’s happening on the other side of the world.

Vincent Paxton: An infamous exile of the Ravenwood Seethe, for reasons unknown to outsiders. Mere mention of his name seems to leave Julien very bitter.

The Mistress: She has had little interaction with Julien so-far, other than the occasional question or two aimed at him at during the local Seethe’s meetings. Though his loyalties remain with Ravenwood he respects her authority and she seems to recognise that.
Other: Works part-time at a hospital as a night-shift security detail. He’s responsible for the occasional misplaced blood pack or two, but considers it adequate payment for his efforts to divert unwanted attention away from supernatural injuries and issues that find themselves at the front desk.

Username:Marcus Pheonix

Name: Morgan Atamander

Age:51 appears mid to late teens.

Gender:Male

Species: Golem

Artificial humans created by the Wizards as weapons, conscripted by the Angels to battle demons. A golem's body is a crude imitation of a human's. Like Angels, they lack sexual characteristics. However, their proportions and features do resemble humans – thus individual golems can have genders. Their bodies are not a single piece, instead being made like a doll with a body and attached extremities. While more durable than a human, their skin feels more artificial, like plastic, and as such can be somewhat brittle. The benefit to this design is that damaged extremities can be replaced/reattached. In fact the attaching points are designed to be weaker than the skin itself, diffusing impacts so they are more likely to detach a limb, which can be reattached, instead of break it.

While they possess a head it does not control the body, the brain of a golem lies in their chest. The central chest is the strongest part of a golem’s body, considerably more so than their extremities. Next to the brain is the heart of a golem, which acts as a battery that produces and regulates the elemental magic that powers each golem. So long as the heart is functional it can continue to supply the body with the required magic to move. The heart possesses a reservoir of magical energy that will slowly be expended as the golem utilises it.

Golems fight primarily through a method known as overclocking. Their heart rapidly increases it’s magic output and, depending on the golem's design, allows for it to utilise its magic circuitry to attack be it via a blast of fire from the mouth, or forming a shell of rock around its hand for a solid hit. The overclocking process rapidly expends magic and should too much be used the golem's body will no longer be able to function and will ‘shut down’ in a state similar to sleep. The heart will then work on restoring the golem's magic flow back to usual levels, as well as accumulating magic in the reservoir.

Designed to be durable yet disposable combatants designed to hold the front line against demons and continue fighting as their body gets destroyed, the original golems could do little more than act as a shield for demons to wail on. As the war evolved, Golems were required to be smarter and were given personalities, essentially making them a new supernatural race of their own.

Appearance: A young man with soft features. He has a pale round cherubic face and long wavy black hair, a low fringe that sits just above his eyes and held in a long french braid that most commonly sits over his shoulder. With bright green eyes and a beauty mark just left below his lip his face is easily mistakable for a woman's.. His torso, in stark contrast to his face is long and possessing an athlete’s physique, though is similarly pale. His left arm matches and is well muscled. His right arm has a deep reddish tan and is much longer than his left though less muscled. His legs are female and slightly more tanned than his head and torso and bring him to 6’6 in height. He usually wears plain shirts a size too large, baggie jumpers/hoodies and a white glove on his right hand. He also most commonly wears long baggy pants held up with a cloth belt.

Morgan clothed, Morgan nekkid (to see his weird limbs)

Personality: Morgan comes off as somewhat simple or naïve. A better interpretation is direct. He prefers to take the immediate course of action and doesn’t like complexity. When not in combat he doesn’t take much interest in the supernatural but finds humans fascinating and will often navigate towards crowds.

Elemental Alignment: Fire

Unique Power: His left arm can channel fire through it, which can be expelled from various points, most predominantly his hand. His right arm can produce fireballs from the palm of his hand, his fingers throttle the flame, these can be thrown and detonate depending on the size.

Tattoo Location: N/A

Relationships: He is the caretaker of his creator the aging wizard Salamis

Other: He is the 4th out of 12 different golem models created by Salamis and the only one still functioning.

When he speaks his voice sounds somewhat deep but quite soft, there is also an echo that can only be detected by supernatural ears.

Username: TehUltimateMage

Reydris

Username: hazeh

Lara

Username: hazeh

Odessa

Username: hazeh

Aphaeleon

Username: hazeh

Username: Lycanious
General consensus from those familiar with him is that he’s a bit too grumpy, overly-skittish, and has a flair for the melodramatic that leaves him convinced if something can wrong it probably will.

Other: Works part-time at a hospital as night-shift security. He’s responsible for the occasional misplaced blood pack or two, but considers it adequate payment for his efforts in diverting unwanted attention away from any supernatural injuries and issues that find themselves there.

Username: Lycanious
Name: Zophiel ‘Zoe’ Summers

Age: 525
Gender: Female (Usually)
Species: Angel
Appearance: With a small wingspan and a petite build, Zoe is much more suited for speed and agility rather than power when it comes to flight. Her wings are a soft, silvery colour with tips of dark asphalt, reminiscent of the city's booming homing pigeon population that she's so fond of. Long, wavy hair flows down her shoulders and settles in the middle of her back in a rich mahogany, though she has been known to play around with the length and the colouring of it on a whim. Sea-green eyes stand out against her sun-tanned skin, and are generally bright and cheerful towards anyone she meets. Though she dabbles in a more androgynous appearance from time to time she has a preference for the feminine side of things and has a soft spot for the long, flowing dresses she wears on idle days. When she suspects trouble is about her attire is a lot more practical though, consisting of simple jackets, shirts and pants that she doesn't mind getting damaged in a scuffle. Jewellery is a common accessory for her and changes frequently, with the exception of a short necklace that she tends to keep tucked out of sight.

Other: She is the owner of Hidden Gems, a quaint little curiosity shop located in a quieter part of the city. While mostly dealing with the usual antiquities and oddities, she also uses it as a means to trade or secure some of the more magical items that have found themselves in the area. Dangerous items are dealt with accordingly or handed over to the appropriate authorities, but low-concern items such as benevolent charms or a cauldron or two can be legally purchased from here if you know how to ask for them.
