ANSWERED:More detail on how to post egg images in Trade

So I guess I’m a moron, but I need a bit more specific help on posting the image codes for dragon eggs. I go to the thread and copy and paste the code into my post. The post I get the codes from says a gray box will then appear and remove extra code or whatever. That gray box never appears. Is this because I’m on a tablet? What do I need to do to get around this?

I  just pasted this, and have no box saying to clear out anything.

I don't know if it's the same on a tablet, but when I post a link it gives me the option to 'paste as plain text', doing that and then hitting 'space' usually turns the link into an image. The actual 'img' tag like the one in your post never works for me, I have to post only the link. 

 

edit: Also, with the new forum software it's possible to simply copy the image itself and paste the image into the post.

Paste the code as plain text, (I believe you can tap and hold to access this option) then leave the url like so:

http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/dragcave/images/4/4a/Aeon_Wyvern_egg.gif

Then hit "ENTER". You should get:

I can’t even find a way to go to plain text. If I click the “div” toggle then I get the “posted as rich text, change to plain text” message, but clicking on it does nothing. I also tried to click the image of the egg @Orchi'dea posted, and it shows up in the posting box, but when I hit post, or save when I was trying to edit this post, it never shows up.

and insert image doesn’t work with this. Clicking convert to plain text just gives me the code. Is this because it’s an Apple product and doesn’t run some stuff?

I had a lot of trouble with the codes, too, a while back.

If you have not already, could you try right-clicking directly on the desired image-> and clicking "Copy Image Location"? After that, paste. This usually works on my end.

If it doesn't work that way, click "insert other media" at bottom right, then "insert image from URL" and paste it in there.

I have to say that using almne's link and going for plain text gets me a blank square instead of an image.

I have never had this issue before.... but now it is happening all the time... I just tried several

Aha! Success! I have to click on the image, copy it, and use the “insert other media” to get it!
