Dragons-gateways

I would like the implementation of dragons-gateways or adapters through which it would be possible to switch from one lineage to another.

 

Mint dragon is gateway between dragons and pygmies. It can mate and give birth to and from those and from other.

Pumpkin dragon is a gateway between drakes and pygmies.

Tatterdrake is gateway between dragons and drakes in its description States that it is a dragon.

But with two-headed - is harder. Need a new dragon-gateway.

 

Like that idea?

Nope, not particularly. Especially not the Drakes part.

Pygmies and Two-Headeds technically *are* dragons, just rather picky. Drakes are not.

No. Definitely not. Breeding between those subspecies has been suggested, and shot down, more times then I can count, I can't imagine that changing just because of some 'gateway'. And I very much doubt the spriters who specifically made pygmies and drakes and such would go for it, either. Also, what is the reasoning behind the breeds you listed being the 'gateways'? As others have mentioned, drakes are not dragons, and any typo to that extent will be fixed. If you are thinking that Mints are smaller so they would be more able to mate with pygmies, please remember that the general consensus is that Mints are about the size of a car, while most pygmies are thought to be about the size of a domestic pet.

I really just don't see any point to this. Everything is fine as it is, and like you say, Two-Headeds would be hard to place, so why not leave them as they are? There's no need to change things when they've been as they are for this long with literally no problems.

Tatterdrake description thing is a typo from when it was originally a regular dragon...it was modified later into a drake. But it is a drake and not a gateway/in between. I'm not so fond of the gateway thing though. I'd rather see those breeding pools expanded in their own rights than making them in any way breedable with regular dragons.

This seems like it's just going to add another category that will need to be fleshed out with a bunch of variation to make lineage building work well with them... I think I'd also rather we have better pools of the types we have rather than adding a new pool entirely.

I'm in the minority who would love to be able to breed drakes/two-headeds (not pygmies) with regular dragons, but this isn't how I would like to see it happen. It's confusing and, to be honest, doesn't fit within the Dragon Cave atmosphere. Why implement a huge new feature that would only work on three dragons? Only one dragon would be added to the list of possible mates for each, so I don't see the point.

I honestly didn't even 'get' that, but that's a very good point. Unless the OP means something else, the way it's worded does sound like only those specific 'gateway' dragons would be able to cross-breed, and that makes even less sense then all of them being able to cross-breed. I'm rather against being able to breed regulars with drakes/etc, but if it were ever to happen I'd hope it would happen in some way that would make sense with DC lore and such. And this.... Doesn't.
