They are not trade-able this year (unlike last year) but they can be abandoned.  And I suspect many will end in the AP.

because some artists do not allow recolors.

Some spriters don't allow for recolors of their sprites (i.e Odeen with the Witchlights, etc)

My sister just got hurts and it was upside down on the page she caught it. But, mine wasn't upside down.

Yes. Blamers are the ones that get upside down mints if the other person didn't blame also. If you both stay silent you both get a normal mint.

The game actually says what you need to do in order to get a 'special' egg:

 

Spoiler

If one person blames and one person says nothing, the person that blamed gets a special egg.
If you both say nothing, you both get a normal egg.
If you both blame, you both get nothing.

 

(That's the text from last year from the wiki, but it's the same this year I'm almost positive)

Also, more notes about the Mints and Game!

• Upside downs are UN-TELEPORTABLE for some reason. Dang it! I was thinking of gifting someone with the one I got.
• They ARE, however, abandon-able! Maybe we will see some in the AP from some gifters?
• You can only play the game once. Choose wisely!
• All eggs gained from the game are CAVE biome, which can give you some fun breeding options!
• Special Mint dragons (eggs and all) are only upside down on the view page and the breeding results page. Otherwise, they look normal.
• This was thought to be a one time event for April Fools 2017, and the drama was REAL. Good thing it came back!
