Black and White (REBOOT) [CLOSED]

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! I was looking back through some old roleplays that I made and I decided to dust one of them off and see if we can get it rolling again (With a few edits). There isn't currently a limit on the number of people who can join or anything like that, but if you are interested please make a post reserving a spot with what you'd like your character's species to be. This thread will be an OOC, so don't worry about putting things in parenthesis or anything like that.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

The Story

Earth. This wonderful planet is home to many different types of species, and brimming with life. Two gods, polar opposites of one another, have staked their claim on the planet and have been fighting over it since it’s early ages. One god, the Lord of the Living, declared that her right to Earth stemmed from the fact she alone is responsible for all those born. Without her, life would not exist at all, and nothing new would ever arise. The second god, the Baron of the Departed, declares his right to earth stems from the fact he dictates who and what dies. Without him, death would have no master. Despite the fact they both require one another to keep the balance over the planet, each thought themselves more worthy to rule over the planet alone. With no compromise to be found, the greedy gods quickly began to fight

Their quarrel lasted for centuries, until the two gods finally realized their power was evenly matched. Exhausted and weakened, they tried again and again to gain the upper hand over their lifelong enemy. But when neither emerged victorious after so long, they decided something would have to change. So together they met, and decided to settle their dispute using the inhabitants of the planet they both desired. Earth itself would fight on behalf of the two gods and decide their war for them. With the stakes set, the two gods separated to gather their forces.

The Baron of the Departed first appealed to the dominant species of the planet, humans, but they recoiled from his words and flinched from his touch. So he turned instead to those who could not disobey: the deceased. Taking the souls of the dead, he attempted to force them back to Earth to walk again. But, with nothing to hold onto to ground them to the world, the souls quickly withered away and returned once more to the afterlife. Unwilling to give in, the Baron of the Departed realized he needed something to hold the souls in. So he forced the souls into living bodies, chaining them to the Earth in a twisted mockery of living animals. With a surplus of souls at his beck and call, he quickly created an army of monsters to serve his will on Earth, with each generation growing more and more deadly.

The Lord of the Living, unlike the Baron, could not construct her own army. She had no surplus of souls she could use except the living, nor could she manipulate dead like he could. But when she whispered to humanity and reached out towards them, they embraced her light. But they were still weak and their weapons failed against the creatures the Baron had created, so they turned to the Lord and begged for assistance in the fight. So the Lord took the humans most loyal to her close and gifted them her own essence, giving them a weapon against the monsters and the Baron. While she lacked the numbers Baron’s army had, her forces were smarter and were evenly matched with the Baron’s creations. With that, the two sides were created and the battle was set.

The Baron of the Departed and the Lord of the Living

These two gods do not appear to normal humans, instead usually choosing to speak with them telepathically, though they can posses humans if they desire for short periods of time. The Baron and the Lord are polar opposites of one another and, contrary to the saying, absolutely hate one another. Their powers are equal and as they are opposites, their powers are the only thing that can harm the other. While gods, they are not omnipresent or omnipotent and much can pass under their gaze.

The Baron is a creative person and rather humorous, finding humans interesting but still beneath him. Knowing that all will die eventually, he is rather desensitized to death, but is frustrated that he lacks the ability to bring about new, fresh life and can only make knock offs of the Lord’s work. As he is surrounded by death and few living, intelligent creatures choose to associate with him, he possesses humans more frequently than the Lord does, going so far as to taunt Apostles even if doing so puts him at risk for being attacked. Anything possessed by a god doesn't have memories of their time possessed, and will wake up after the fact like they woke up from a dream.

The Lord is a sombre individual, and doesn't beat around the bush, instead choosing to speak bluntly. While she may often ask permission from humans before involving them in the fight by making them her Apostles, the Lord still looks down on humans equally compared to the Baron and hardly understands humans and their functions, viewing them more as tools than anything else. She views the Baron as obsolete and a destructive force of her creations, and desires not just to have Earth to herself, but eliminate the Baron entirely and stop her creations from withering away and dying. She is much more defensive and rarely will directly possess humans.

The Lord is usually represented by the color white while the Baron is represented by the color black, but this has no say on what "side" they stand for. The Baron and the Lord cannot be described by the terms good or evil, only different sides of the same coin. As their names suggest, the Baron and the Lord rule over different aspects of life and death but have numerous other powers under their control.

The Beasts

These creatures are unusual creatures, holding many attributes of both animal and human. They are powered by souls of deceased humans forced into unusual bodies by the Baron to serve his will. They have no memories of their life on Earth and, in an attempt to make themselves whole, they devour any living creature within their sight. This makes them difficult to lead, as the Baron’s words often fall on deaf ears too overcome with the urge to feed rather than listen to the Baron’s commands. It is only the Baron’s power keeps these creatures stable, meaning only a similar or opposite power can truly harm them and send the souls back to the afterlife. If something other than another Beast or Apostle, or something with a similar power injures them, they will quickly recover from the attack and continue to rampage. Because each Beast is made by the Baron himself, they are all completely different in both power and appearance.

With time, the Baron has worked on perfecting his craft, and newer Beasts are more intelligent than their earlier counterparts, and are even capable of withstanding the urges to feast on the living and can obey orders, though these creatures are rarer and tend to flock together to act in packs rather than simply moving as a horde like their less intelligent siblings. Even the most human-looking of Beasts still have some animalistic tendencies and traits, both physical and emotional. Beasts, if they choose, can cannibalize their siblings to become stronger. This may change their physical appearance, as well as give them access to stronger abilities.

Apostles of the Lord

The Apostles are the humans that the Lord of the Living infused her essence into. Because she and the Baron are opposites, their power naturally negates one another, making the Apostles one of the only creatures that can actually kill the creatures the Baron created. The Apostles are humans to their core, and the Lord’s gift to them is an external one that takes the form of a weapon. These weapons are the only things that can truly harm the Baron’s creations, and can also harm the Baron himself.

The Apostles are few in number but strong thanks to their weapons. These weapon comes with numerous strong, sometimes even supernatural abilities, but using them takes its toll on the Apostles. They must sleep more and eat more than normal humans, and can only fight for so long before they become fatigued. When not in use, the weapon dissolves into white light and enters it’s hosts body without any real signs it existed in the first place, allowing Apostles to always have access to their weapons while not having to physically carry them. In addition, exposure to the Lord’s power gradually makes Apostles stronger, faster, and more durable than regular humans, even when they are not actively using their weapons. If one of the Baron’s creations manages to break an Apostle’s weapon, it can usually be re-summoned after a period of rest, although if the damage is extensive enough an Apostle may lose their weapon forever, though this causes no harm to the host. Rumors suggest that the Lord may grant truly loyal Apostles additional blessings, such as animal familiars who fight alongside them to help combat the Baron’s creations, clearly inspired by the Baron’s own Beasts, though less monstrous in appearance. (These may appear later on in the RP as a gift to Apostles.)

Apostles can telepathically hear the Lord of the Living when she speaks to them and are guided together by her so that they can work as a force and are not individually picked off. The Apostles live within the mountains and their entire fortress is protected by large amounts of rock, providing natural cover from the elements and possible surprise attacks. Apostles are not the only ones who live here as many normal humans support them by maintaining the fortress and helping the Apostles where they can. It is from here attacks are launched on Beasts and research is done to better combat them and help the Apostles fight. Apostles also live longer than humans, as possession of the Lord’s power slows their aging. All Apostles have a white mark on the palm of their right hand that resembles a star, marking them as Apostles of the Lord. This mark is worshipped among normal people as a religion symbol, but is also used as a quick ID to allow them to be identified in times of crisis (Think like a police badge). It is from this mark that their weapons manifest and return to them.

Disciples of Baron

Though most recoiled from the god of death and decay, a few humans approached him and pledged their loyalty. Delighted by these rare few and inspired by the Lord’s own Apostles, the Baron decided to bless these humans by making them his Disciples. By giving them some of his energy, he managed to create twisted versions of the Apostles that resembled them in form but held his power instead. Not satisfied with just this, he manipulated these humans further, going so far as to take the essence he gave them and force it to bond completely with the humans, rather than simply residing within their bodies. No longer can it be removed without physically killing the hosts, and instead of manifesting weapons, each Disciple gained one special, supernatural ability. The Disciples are also able to control the Beasts like the Baron, though those that are more intelligent often object and those that are less intelligent may fail to follow complex orders. There are very, very few Disciples as creating them takes a great amount of power from the Baron, and few humans dare to pledge themselves to the Baron. As a result, all Disciples know each other and sometimes choose to work together to scheme against Apostles and try to bring their mountain fortress crashing down around them. At this point, Disciples are hidden from Apostles as they are a relatively new creation, and are careful about their existence when dealing with Apostles, leaving none alive that they encounter and more often than not simply instructing Beasts from a distance. Like Apostles, they run risks of using their powers too much and can easily overheat, causing them to pass out, and prolonged overuse of their powers even run the risk of killing them.

They can can damage and break the Apostle's weapons but, in turn, can easily be damaged by their weapons. In addition to this, regular weapons can harm them as well as they are technically still alive, but being bonded with the Baron’s power makes them slightly more resistant to these attacks. Disciples live in a castle deep within woods filled with Beasts that the Baron created for them. All Disciples can be identified by a black star on their left palm, meant to be a mockery of the mark that appears on Apostles. In addition to this, they all incredibly large scars that span from their neck to their belly button, as in order to infuse humans with his energy, the Baron required access to their hearts. How Disciples are made specifically is unknown, as the Baron possesses Disciples during this conversion and they cannot remember what happens..

Setting

The Lord of the Living and the Baron of the Departed have been known to humanity for some time, and the Church of Light (The religion that worships the Lord of the Living) is the dominant religion on the planet. Previously there were small and rare cults that worshipped the Baron as well, but these were flushed out thousands of years ago and scattered, making that religion pretty much obsolete. The Church of Light is mostly based on historical documents and artifacts depicting these two, as prior to moving their fight to Earth the two gods didn’t really interact with humans at all. The history and geography of Earth are relatively the same as our Earth, but with a notable difference in religion.

The war on Earth, however, only really began in between World War I and World War II, when the Baron released the first of his Beasts. This means technological advancements around this time ended up slowing down, and the Beasts regularly killed a lot of people. Humans tend to live in fortified cities with at least one Apostles guarding them at a time, and while cars are popular horses don’t require gas to run and are frequently used for transportation as well.

Username: shadow_claw

Name: Aspen Carter

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Species: Apostle

Appearance: Aspen is, in almost all descriptions, a fairly average young girl. She stands at about five-foot-five, with sepia skin and doe brown eyes. Her face is round, her nose is a little snubbed, and her face is covered in freckles. Aspen is dressed like an average teen, with jeans and a tee shirt most days. The only really unusual clothing she wears are a pair of black fingerless gloves, which she wears constantly. Aspen also wears heavy combat boots, likely a hand-me-down from one of the wars.

History: One of the youngest to be chosen by the Lord of the Living, Aspen has been one of the most successful in anti-Beast warfare. As both her parents were Apostles, she was raised within a fortress her life and trained in most aspects of Apostle life. As such, she's knowledgeable in both medicine and warfare. To the date, she hasn't actively participated in any battles, but instead, communes with the souls trapped within beasts. Upon receiving her gift, she ran away from her peaceful home life to fulfill her duty.

Personality: Aspen is surprisingly optimistic, almost morbidly so. She's fascinated with the concept of the soul and actively engages with somewhat disturbing debate about the nature of life and humanity. She can be considered off-putting, but is tolerated for her valuable information in the battle against beasts.

Weapon: A pair of glasses, that allow her to perceive souls. Although this usually means just to view auras, she can openly speak with and understand Beasts as well.

Power: N/A

Other: :3c

Username: DarknessDragon197
Name: Damaris
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Species: Apostle
Appearance: Smaller than most his age, Damaris stands at a mere 5'4" with dark, coppery brown hair that flows just slightly past the shoulders. He often prefers for his hair to be down but in certain circumstances he'll hold it back with a low-hanging ponytail. If he has a spare hairband laying around that is. He often loses himself to his thoughts and zones out, warm amber eyes fixated with some form of intensity. Because of this, many mistake his expression for annoyance or a sign of distaste which could at times stir up conflict when someone happens to catch his gaze at the wrong time. Preferring warmer clothing, Damaris's wardrobe always consists of pants and snug clothes. Can also commonly be seen wearing a coat that's light or heavy depending on the weather as well. He refuses to wear any color of blue and favors both autumn and earthly colors, insisting that those are the only shades that compliment his appearance.
History: By no means is he a descendant from wealthy standing. Born into a working-class family, both of his parents are human through and through which helped assist his influence into becoming an Apostle. Damaris had always hoped to do or become something greater than himself so when an opportunity from the Lord came- he was sure to accept it. Fighting for what he believes to be just, there was no doubt that he had made the right decision. Strangely, he does not follow the teachings of the Church of Light and tends to stray away from the religion. Most say its because he prefers to follow his own path but he never really speaks up about the matter to clarify.
Personality: Optimistic to the core, even in the most dire of situations- doesn't mean he doesn't have his pessimistic moments however. Damaris is quick on his feet when it comes to thinking and is quite calculative when it comes to decision making. Tending to favor multiple outcomes instead of settling on just one. His determination and passion is what drives him but where there is strength there is also weakness. He tends to push himself a little too far at moments, causing him to retire for rests at a time. Can easily be overwhelmed if he bites off more than he can chew or if things shift against his favor considerably. He can be a bit of an introvert but once he starts to open up he's one of the most sociable people around. While he doesn't wish spite onto the Disciples he doesn't favor them either. Damaris holds some respect for his enemies but not their philosophy. He'd much rather settle for negotiating any day but when time calls for a fight he can make for a formidable opponent.
Weapon: Searing VerityA worthy bow and arrow nicknamed for harnessing the element of flame. Forged with bladed ends, the bow can serve as both a long-range and close-range weapon should enemies draw too near. Once an arrow is loaded onto its rest the weapon ignites itself upon firing, devastating opponents in a rain of fire. Heat of the flames increase with the intensity of battle but at the cost of more energy. Rumor has it that the flames can alter to a more blue color but it has yet to be seen. Interestingly enough when testing the weapon, Damaris found that when those who hold good intentions make contact with the burning weapon the flames do not hurt them.
Other: When under stress or feeling restless Damaris can be found going for walks or staying up late just to stargaze. He tends to feel more at peace in the outdoors and if asked he much favors the countryside than he does cities.

Username: shadow_claw
Name: Matthew Ironmonger
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Species: Apostle
Appearance: Matt looks identical to his twin, save for his eyes. A mask of burned flesh borders his eyes, which are no longer present due to a recent injury. Currently, his eyes are bound with with cloth to keep the injuries covered. His clothing, however, is much more casual than his brother. Jeans, sneakers, and a dark hoodie are his usual clothing.
History: After being blinded, Matthew fled his brother's clutches. It was then he began to hear the voice of the Lord of the Living, instructing him to find the nearest church. Having been with the Apostles for a few weeks, he is slowly recovering from his injuries and learning to master his weapon.
Personality: Matthew is surprisingly impassive, making him seem very slight and passive compared to his passionate twin. He is opinionated, but never felt the need to argue with his brother For most his life, Matthew merely followed his brother's wishes since it was easier. After taking a stand, however, he is slowly learning to become self-reliant and confident in himself.
Weapon: An old, battered violin, lovingly tuned and taken care of. He can apply varying buffs and debuffs depending on the music he plays.
- Can buff nearby enemies with a temporary strength boost. Negates feelings of fear or doubt.
-  Can generate a limited, full-body shield on one person of choice. Protects them from one attack no matter the strength.
- Can temporarily increase the speed of a person or small group (think 2-3 people at once)
- Can negate feelings of pain on one person for about thirty minutes
- Can give teammates a burst of energy for a short period of time
Aside from this, Matthew can do the inverse of all these abilities. He can also passively influence emotions when playing.

Name: Sonya

Age: 35

Gender: Female

Species: Apostle

Appearance: Sonya has medium length, brown hair that falls down to just past her shoulders. Her skin is tanned and she is incredibly buff as a result of her weapon. She has a few freckles across her nose and cheeks. Aside from this, Sonya has a thin scar across her left cheek, and other scars are hidden just beneath her clothes. She tends to wear civilian clothing to blend in to possible crisis situations, giving her the opportunity to launch surprise attacks.

History: Sonya has been in the service of the Lord her entire life, and was first selected to be one of her Apostles from the age of twelve. From there, she moved up quickly in ranks and now occupies the position of Cardinal, which is basically like a general for Apostles. This means she can order Apostles to scenes of investigation, and is also responsible for trying to recover Beasts alive for study in order to find potential weaknesses. She otherwise keeps her personal life pretty close to her chest, and since she has devoted most of her life to the Lord there isn’t much to note outside of her service.

Personality: Sonya is compassionate and loyal to a fault, having pledged her entire life to service of the Lord. She rightfully views Beasts as abominations needing to be destroyed, but prioritizes saving humans over killing Beasts. She is manages to have a pretty good hold on her temper under normal situations, but deliberately harming people is the fastest way to get her angry.

Weapon: Porcupine Sonya posses a pair of brass knuckles that aren’t brass at all, but rather composed of an unnatural white material that all of the Lord’s weapons are made of. Adorned these knuckles are spikes, giving them the ability to deliver devastating blows. However, while these blows would be painful on their own, her ability is made lethal by the added power of the spikes on the ends of her knuckles to grow and launch themselves out, similar to the myth of porcupines being able to launch their quills. Each of these spikes can grow up to six inches long before being launched or embedded into an opponent’s body with a punch, meaning that the force of her blows can drive these spikes deep inside her enemies. Since these spikes, along with the brass knuckles themselves, are made of the Lord’s power, they will often cause more damage to Beasts and Disciples by remaining inside their bodies, basically acting as a toxin to the surrounding flesh.

Username: pudding
Name: Argus
Age: -
Gender: Male
Species: Beast
Appearance: Argus, at first glance, appears very similar to a common house cat. He has a sleek black body and yellowish green eyes. However, this appearance is deceiving and becomes apparent once Argus opens his eyes. Or, rather, all of his eyes, as his entire body is covered in countless staring eyes erratically covering his being. His claws and teeth are noticeably larger and shaper than those of a regular house cat, and thanks to the Baron’s power capable of causing significant harm to humans and Apostles alike by easily slicing through even the hardest of object.
History: Argus was made fairly recently with the purpose of trying to spy on Apostles by taking the form of something commonplace in human cities. Though less powerful than larger and more powerful Beasts, Argus is capable of human speech and intelligent thought. His primary function is to attempt to sneak into the Apostle’s fortress, as it is beyond the Baron’s gaze thanks to the protection the Lord casts over it. His original soul is nothing really to note, as it was simply taken from a thief who had died several years prior.
Personality: Argus has a fairly easygoing personality and is fairly lazy. He can be mocking and make biting comments towards others, but rarely takes physical action to back up his own taunts. As a result of his small stature he tends to flock to stronger allies, either in the form of other intelligent Beasts who wouldn’t try to eat him, or by sticking close to Disciples when not actively working. This has led him to be seen as less of a spy and more of some kind of house pet for the humans that serve the Baron.
Weapon: -
Power: Argus’s body can melt into shadows, allowing him to hide in the darkness and sneak up on enemies. He can transport between connected shadows, but it should be noticed there is a difference between shadows and complete darkness. He cannot hide himself in complete darkness. At the same time, he cannot remain hidden in shadows that are disrupted by erratic light.

Username: shadow_claw

Name: Nahia

Age: unknown

Gender: unknown, presents as female

Species: Beast

Appearance: For a beast, Nahia looks incredibly human. It's only her large ears and her strikingly canid legs that give away her supernatural origins. She has wild black hair that is always kept in a tight bun, for otherwise, it gets everywhere. Nahia has an olive skin tone and strikingly pale yellow eyes. Donning khakis and a black tank top, Nahia wears surprisingly casual clothing for her role in the war. The only unusual or remotely war-like clothing she wears is a black muzzle securely strapped over her mouth and nose. Her feet are also wrapped with cloth, as shoes do not fit her unusual legs.

History: An amalgamation of two souls, Nahia is a being who suffers silently. She was fortunate enough for these souls to mesh well together, but longs to be her own person.

Personality: Nahia is a quiet sort, emphasized by the muzzle on her face. Most of her conversations are internal, bounced between the souls that reside in her body. She is stubborn and impulsive, likely due to her wolfish characteristics. Nahia is the sort to act first and ask questions later. IN fear of her own wild tendencies, she dons a muzzle in an effort to act more human.

Weapon: N/A

Power: Aside from a naturally high endurance and strength, Nahia has an accelerated healing rate. Small injuries heal within minutes, while broken bones and more severe injuries take about a day to heal.

Other: Surprisingly intelligent for a best, Nahia has become disillusioned with the war and has fallen out of the ranks of the Baron's army.

Username: pudding

Name: Varian

Age: 11

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Appearance: Varian has fairly light skin and a splash of freckles across his face. He’s average height for his age and pretty slender, and has bright blue, attentive eyes. He has shaggy dark brown hair that falls to about his shoulders a slightly crooked, wide smile with a slight gap in his front teeth. Honestly, he’s just a pretty adorable kid.

History: Varian was born in the town at the base of the fortress of the Apostles. His family isn’t very well off and, without any useful skills in cooking or medicine, they haven’t been able to try to move into the fortress for safety. Knowing this has put a lot of stress on his family, but Varian’s parents have kept that to themselves in an effort to try to spare their son from grief. This has made him somewhat sheltered as a result, and he’s spent most of his life helping out in his parent’s clock shop where he works on stocking inventory. On the sides, he’ll offer to repair small mechanical devices to bring in a little more money, but only simple things.

Personality: Varian is an intelligent kid but, at the end of the day, he’s still just a kid. He has good intentions but is naive and that can cause him to get into trouble. As a result of this, his efforts to be helpful can lead to grief for his family, but he does his best to try to improve an otherwise bleak situation. He looks up to Apostles greatly since his town is situated near the foot of their fortress, and his positive outlook tends to make him a cheerful person to be around.

Username: TheSevenOceans
Name: Candide
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Species: Disciple
Appearance: His face seems to have been fixed in perpetual disinterest.  The scar along his torso is well hidden, and gloves are always a must.  His wardrobe is primarily comfortable, flexible, and sturdy.  Anything with warm, dark colors suits him fine.  His pale green eyes and auburn hair are from his mother, and his pallor comes from both his nocturnal habits and his father's genetics.  There is a thin scar just below his right eye from an unfortunate disagreement with someone he thought was his friend.
History: Both parents were loyal to the Lord, but he could not bring himself to support a being that advocated for immortality.  The idea of it troubled him and when he thought on it he knew the Baron was who he'd pledge himself to.  As much as he enjoyed living, he had a respect for the dead he could not ignore.  Loyal as his father was, in Candide's youth, he'd discuss openly what the sides' goals seemed to be and how humanity came into play in the ongoing conflict.  This honest conversation led Candide to his decision, and he rarely finds himself doubting his choice.
Personality: After a fallout with a childhood friend, Candide is much more private about his loyalty and opinions.  This makes him often taken for a quiet observer.  For the most part this is true, but certain things- such as when someone starts cracking terrible jokes- make him start into a giggling fit.  Without the presence of humorous exchanges, his silence has only increased as his time alive ticks on.  His frustration with those who side with the Lord without even considering the Baron manifests in rare outbursts of ranting that is typically reserved for when he is alone.  Asking someone to consider following the Baron isn't exactly smiled upon after all.
Weapon: -
Power: (nicknamed: Siren Song.)  With a lulling tune, one draws in attention to him/herself as a means of disarming someone temporarily.  The trance ends if hearing is knocked out, and if the user has to take in a breath to continue.  Someone with a deeply strong focus/will can snap out of the trance, or provided assistance like an ally making a very loud clammer.  Honking a car horn rapidly for example can break the song up making it fracture in effect.  The user is also in somewhat of a trance while singing or humming, and is vulnerable to attack if not careful about hiding.  Without something to break the song, one can be lured to their demise.  Song does not effect Beasts, and has a notably limited effect on Apostles, but humans are very affected.
Other: Candide prefers raw food to cooked, specifically: clover, cactus fruit, and his favorite- honeycomb straight from a hive.  What's a few bee stings?

Name:  Cyrus Ironmonger

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Species: Disciple

Appearance:Cyrus is fairly average, with curly brown hair and brown eyes. He wears this, and owns several variations of the same outfit. He has pale skin and is covered in freckles.

History: An identical twin, Cyrus has spent his whole life alongside his brother. It was only when they grew older did they begin to drift apart. Their family remained largely unaffiliated, so when Cyrus declared allegiance with the Baron, he dragged his twin along to swear fealty to him. When his brother refused and tried to flee, Cyrus used his newfound abilities to blind Matthew.

Personality: Passionate and devout, Cyrus is a bit of an extremist. He's incredibly attached to both the Baron and his brother, to such an extent that he is known to act violently to keep Matthew under his reign.

Weapon: N/A

Power: Temperature control. Cyrus can freeze water vapor (and just water...you know), and generate flame by altering his surrounding's temperature. He can't freeze objects or use fire at the same time, however.

Name: Julius
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Species: Disciple
Appearance: Julius has longer, dark hair that falls down past his shoulders, although it is usually kept tied up in either a loose bun or a tight ponytail, although braids are not out of the question either, though he never wears it down and usually has several hairbands wrapped around his wrist as backups in case one breaks. He has dark, brown eyes and both of his ears have been pierced. On his own, he tends to wear simple white t-shirts and dark colored hoodies, although he has been known to pull himself together and wear nicer clothing at the Baron’s, or another Disciple’s request. These clothes are usually enough to hide the large scar across his chest, but the mark on the palm of his hand has to be covered by gloves to be hidden. He isn’t all that tall, since he’s only 5’6”, though he doesn’t seem to care all that much.
History: Julius doesn’t have much of a notable history in his early years. His mother died when he was young, and his father turned to criminal activity to try to support the rest of their family, only to be thrown in jail. Left out on the streets, Julius was forced to fend for himself for a long time before desperation eventually forced him to try to search the forests for food. Instead, he came across a Beast that would have surely killed him if the Baron had not interfered and ordered the creature to instead help him. He was made a Disciple not long afterwards, and has been faithfully serving the Baron since, having turned his back on humanity.
Personality: Julius is a man who relies on himself. A firm believer in the saying “If you want something done right you do it yourself”, he tends to work alone and keep to himself. As a result of the Baron saving him, his loyalty lies firmly with him, and despite being a bit rough around the edges, he does really care about the other Disciples and the Baron. However, he really doesn’t care much about the lives of regular humans, and cannot stand Apostles or those that worship the Lord. He tends to come across as playful, and even childish when dealing with Apostles and the war, but he does take his duties seriously and will do his best to see the Baron’s goals accomplished.
Weapon: -
Power: Julius can turn his body intangible, allowing him to pass through objects as if they were not even there. This includes walls, the ground, even humans and animals. By making only parts of his body intangible and others not, he can render most of himself unable to be touched while still interacting with objects in his environment. In addition to this, his ability appears to be able to extend somewhat to things he touches, as when he turns intangible his clothes become intangible as well. As a final curious note, he’s found that he is capable of walking on air or on liquids while intangible. While he can easily pass through humans, his intangibility doesn’t work at all when trying to pass through things infused with the Lord’s power. He can, however, pass through Disciples and Beasts, although the more of the Baron’s power found within an object the more difficulty he seems to have with doing this.

Username: TheSevenOceans
Name: Candide Aristo

Accepted as well! I'm going to make an Apostle character myself but we can probably start pretty soon since nobody else has PMed me or posted here about interest. Besides, applications will still be open after we start anyway, so additional people can join whenever they like.

History: (Brief)An amalgamation of two souls, Nahia is a being who suffers silently.

Username:shadow_claw
Other:
Power: N/A

Power: N/A

Name: Raghnall (nicknamed Noodle from Julius)

Age: Unknown

Gender: Male

Species: Beast

Appearance: https://i.imgur.com/JQRVcsQ.jpg

History: Created as a friend of sorts for Julius, Raghnall is essentially like a pet to him and the other Disciples. At first he started out the size of a basic snake but due to the Baron's power the Beast grew considerably large, thus not only making him a lovable companion but a terrifying weapon when summoned for battle.

Personality: Due to Raghnall's immense size he's rather lethargic, favoring sunbathing and rolling around until he settles for rest. Tending to sleep for hours until feeling the need to feed- which is a lot. Despite the capability of speech he lacks on the social spectrum. His behavior is to that of a canine and as such he has many of their shared tendencies such as chasing his own tail. Even so, he may not be of the smartest Beasts but he is by far one of the larger ones, if not one of the biggest. He appears to be quite intimidating but is actually a big lovable softie to those he knows and loves, hence his affectionate nickname from Julius.

Power: Having much power contained in his mass Raghnall is a very corruptive Beast. His first set of teeth contain a very potent venom that can paralyze and shut down a person's body, effectively stunning them within minutes. Similar to the first set, his second set of teeth possess a highly corrosive acid which if anything comes into contact with, will essentially dissolve and eat away the matter until almost nothing is left. When combined together the venom and acid both work together to paralyze and melt the insides of the victim, ensuring a slow painful death. Assuming they survive the initial bites that is.

Other:  Raghnall's weakest points on his body consist of his belly and the groove-like holes that run along certain parts of his body. Also similar to that of a chameleon, his skin can shift in pigment to that of the surrounding environment as a defense mechanism.

Name: Magnes
Age: unknown, looks like an adult
Gender: Male
Species: Beast
Appearance: Magnes can quite aptly be described as a harpy. He is a humanoid, bipedal, winged bird-creature styled after a peacock. Unlike peafowl, however, he is equipped with razor sharp talons and serrated teeth. In general, he's a big, fancy-looking murder machine.
History: Like all intelligent beasts, Magnes has no recollection of his previous life. Simply put, he's one of the few cheerful and upbeat Beasts that's tolerable enough to hold a conversation with.
Personality: Cheerful and eager to please, Magnes is often considered one of the only positive influences in and around the castle. He's often seen about the castle, running in for short periods of time to socialize, before disappearing back to his nest to roost. It's easy to see when he visits the castle, as he usually leaves gifts in the form of trinkets and sometimes carrion. He's a strange creature, admittedly, and is surprisingly flighty for a creature of his ferocity. With that in mind, however, he's completely docile as long as he knows you.
Weapon:
Power: Aside from flight, Magnes has moderate control over weather. He often manipulates the wind to favor his flight, and can generate clouds at will. What it precipitates is based upon the weather, however. None of his clouds are able to grow larger than a car, and the air must have humidity (or he must have access to water) to even make clouds.

Name: Jameis Wilson

Age: 24

Gender: Male

Species: Disciple

Appearance: Jameis' brown, curly hair slightly reveals a chiseled, calm face. He has glinting brown eyes, set concealed within their sockets, that peer over the soon-to-be victims of his evil deeds. His face is mostly shaven, save for a scraggly bit of hair making up a goatee. He has a dark complexion, standing at a large height of 6'4", and his brawny frame weighing close to 230 pounds. There's something off about him, perhaps it's the fact he is a disciple of the dark. But nonetheless, people tend to fall for his tricks, becoming another victim of his brutality.

Picture: https://www.newsmax.com/Newsmax/files/3f/3f6496c7-c669-401d-9eaf-554a09fb318b.jpg

History: Jameis was an athlete of high praise, a star in the making. But an injury caused by a low blow ended his career permanently. Sorrow and anger brewed a strong mix of resentment of his fellow humans, and soon he turned to darkness to find what he truly wanted in life... power. He sought out the Baron, pledging his allegiance via word to the unseen deity,  promising to any dark deed. It was then he became a disciple, a foil to the apostles. A man turned dark by his lust for power.

Personality: Jameis is a sly, weasel of a man who is tricky to deal with. His shrewd nature and trickery is only spotted by the wisest of people. He seems calm and friendly at first, but this is just a trick for him to corrupt you. If you resist Jameis, he will grow frustrated, and soon will drop his con act and attempt physical force. He shows respect only for his deity, and disregards just about everyone else. Do not trust him, or it will be your doom.

Weapon: A curved, ebony dagger that's poisoned with a controlling substance. Anyone cut by the dagger has an hour to be cured, or they will fall under Jameis' control. Once under his control, the person must be healed by an apostle to release them from Jameis' grasp.

Power: Invisibility. Jameis can vanish in an instant, becoming invisible, only able to found by sound or footprints.

Other: Big dude, strength, toughness.

Right so uhhhh first I'm just going to say that making OCs based off of real life people feels a little off, especially when you use their name and image. Others might be fine with it, but it feels a bit weird in the context of an RP.

Second, you didn't fill out your character sheet quite right, since Weapons/Powers aren't supposed to appear on the same sheet. One slot should be left blank depending on if the character is a Beast/Disciple or an Apostle.

Finally, and this is my fault, but this RP is actually closed right now. We already have four people and adding more to the mix slows things down in my experience. Sorry :(

Like I said, this RP is closed and not accepting new people, only characters from players already involved.

Could you please delete your posts so the OOC thread remains clear?
