Discuss Baikala Dragons here

Edit: I prefer the typo XD

I think they'll look good "purebred" with the other color variant.

Male green x female blue:

And the other combination:

(Baikala is their correct name. It'll be updated on the site sometime in the near future.)

I agree on going purebred with these. Or getting some more two-heads for more choices. =p

Same here! The male green x female blue is definitely my favorite combination.

Purebred seems like the prettiest option with these guys! I wonder how the coloring will work, are the blues just alts or will the biome of the parents matter? Like if you breed two greens from forest, where there is no (?) blues, you can only get greens. Or if you breed parents from coast, you get higher chances of getting a blue, since they are more common there? Interesting to see!

I like them best with the green Lindwurms and the Bloodscales. But I'll probably mostly do PB as well, they're interesting enough by themselves for that not to get boring. :D

I'm looking forward to seeing some of the breeding pairs, mine won't be grown for a while yet. I've seen some purebreds, amazing.

Every time I look at the news post with TJ's group of adults, I'm like "woooow... they are so beautiful..."    I have to get more of them so I can do that male blue x female green checker.

@Dalek Raptor Could you change the name in the topic title? That might help make the correct version known even before the description is fixed (it still has both versions at the moment).

Aww, I liked the typo'd name more. :( Oh well.

On-topic, I have to agree that the green x blue Baikala-set looks the best. But Two-headed Lindwurms also looked great with them, I'll try that as well.

I can't say I'm a big fan of two-headed breeding simply because the pool is so limited, but I do like the blue Baikalas very much, so maybe this'll get me to appreciate it a little more.

Tested out a few and here were my favorites.

I may do a combo checker with the Lindwyrms, if I have time.

I did a few test breedings, and I like the greens with Hooktalon. Linking progeny because egg auto abandoned.

This looks much nicer than I expected! I like it even better than with Bloodscales. Here is the same combination the other way round (femaile Baikala x male Hooktalon): https://dragcave.net/lineage/u8ad9

This was my thought from the first moment I saw the adults. :D

For some reason, this didn't catch my eye in the previews (maybe because everything seems zoomed in?), but this is really beautiful!

Oh, I love this one too! I got a no egg when I tried this pair myself XD

In your experience, to Baikalas always breed eggs of their their colour? Mine did, so far.

So far mine have, but I don't really have a large enough sample size to say if it's always the case.

Does anybody have any interesting breeding results?

I'm still collecting CBs and have only bred one 2nd gen so far. Now TJ just said they breed like Coppers (always producing the color of the mother's biome), which would mean the Baikala x Baikala checkers would never work. I still hope I misunderstood...

I'm getting mixed results. Or actually, I'm getting all green results.

Basically, Duotones and Splits can be found in all biomes, green Lindwurms in the Forest.

With a coastal Split, a green Baikala sired a green egg: https://dragcave.net/progeny/z3aUf (that would be non-Copper behaviour)

With a forest Duotone, a blue Baikala sired a green egg, too: https://dragcave.net/progeny/j2oUs

With a jungle Split, a blue Baikala sired another green egg: https://dragcave.net/progeny/PoOuP

 Maybe there is some small chance at the other colour like with Xenos?

Here's my results:

Green male x Blue female: Blue egg

Blue male x Green female: Green egg

Blue male x Green female: Green egg

What a bummer. I really hope what Ruby Eyes said is confirmed and her egg is not a weird glitch, that there would be small chance for the other color, like Xenos.

I bred four pairs and got three green eggs from male blue x female green, and no egg from male green x female blue (which would probably produce blue).

This is rather sad if it's true.

(At least it'll teach me not to make plans for new breeds before we know everything about their breeding behaviour.)

I suppose blue Baikala x green Lindwurm checker only works if the female is the Baikala ...
