So... Seems like there is a chance!

now i'm a bit pissed that i abandoned all the eggs i bred before today and was egglocked for this one

Both with non-Copper behaviour. Could it be that green is currently just more likely than blue?

I'm really confused about the breeding of these guys. I thought TJ himself said that the colour of the egg is based on the mother's biome. So shouldn't this be impossible? I don't get it!

According to the Wikia on Baikala:

•  Male Baikala x any CB female dragon = Egg color of its mother's biome.
•  CB Female Baikala x any male dragon = Egg color of the female Baikala.

But perhaps when a Male Baikala x Female Baikala is bred, the egg can be either parent's color? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That doesn't really make sense to me, since if it's based on the mother's biome (which is still the case if it's a female baikala with a male of another breed) the rest of the time I don't get why that's not necessarily the case whenit's baikala x baikala. Not that I'm complaining since this opens the possibility of more lineages, but I just don't really get it.

It's basically like breeding Xeno's together except with mother biome dominance when bred outside of the species. Baikala x Baikala gets you any Baikala because they are the same species so it doesn't matter. Baikala male x Dragon female gets you a color based on the Mom's biome. Baikala female x Dragon male gets you a color based on the female Baikala. 

At least, that's what Metal-n-Monster is saying.

Still needs testing or info:

• Cross-color PB baiks (cb x cb, cb x lineage and lineage x lineage)
• CB glitch blue m baiks x non-baik from coast/alpine/desert/volc
• any glitch green baiks

 

Apparent rules from these results:
- all glitch baikalas = green (test blue m glitch baikalas to confirm or refute)
- all green baikalas = green
- any male baik x forest or jungle = green
- cross color baiks = ???????

CB m green baikala x CB volcano = green

CB m green baikala x CB alpine = green

 

2G m green baikala x 2G = green

2G m blue baikala x 2G = blue

2G m x 2G blue = blue

 

The important pairings (m blue x forest/jungle and m green x coast) all refused or produced the other breed.

I hardly use it when I'm just pairing dragons to send eggs straight to the AP. I kind of regret it now, since there were 4-5 refusals! 😧 

I DID remember to for the blue baikala and glitch blue baikala, 'cause the child was for Amazon_warrior.

In a sense. Green baikala males still produce green baikalas when the mother is a non-baikala from coast, both colors of glitched baikala females produce green (when either green ones should produce blue or both should produce both), I have not seen non-glitched same-color baikala pb produce the other color (also have not seen blue male x green female make any blue when green x blue can make both), and by all indications any given specific pairing of baikalas will only ever produce one color, though different combinations of otherwise-identical mates can produce different colors. https://dragcave.net/lineage/VXF5P vs https://dragcave.net/progeny/4TGM9 vs https://dragcave.net/progeny/BzWfI

 

tl;dr the breeding rules seem inconsistent between blue and green parents. there's more green results than there should be.
