Blame other person or say nothing prompt?

Any reports of them growing up?

Also, does anyone know what time on April 1st the event started?

Midnight EST on April 1st, I believe.

I don't think any of them have grown up yet, but some have reported theirs gendering.

@Pourlemoment: I would agree with you IF we knew that they would stay upside down, but there's no way to confirm that they won't just be normal CB Mints when they grow up right now. If they turn out right side up, you'll have given up a CB Gold for a cave blocker. It seems like a very risky move on behalf of the ones trading.

Ah thank you, so the first ones should be growing up tomorrow after midnight smile.gif

I wish there had been any info about the event, but it's exciting anyway biggrin.gif

simple calculation ;-)

April 1st + 5 days = April 6th for the first to grow up.

And I tried around 9 am my time, so it must have started at midnight cave time.

not everyone has a chance to get the nicer stuff in trades. Let's face it certain people have all the luck from CB prizes which some have two or they often have multiple CB Golds or CB Silvers on a regular basis. ... I saw a post go up for a Mint for a CB Copper and I sent the pm to them in about a minute but it went to some else who offered more than I could so I obviously didn't get it.  And there is the fact those same people have multiple mints. I'm sorry but that doesn't seem at all fair to me. It feels like the Elite of DC have a much better chance at getting them the the rest of us people who can't compare to that.

I don't think this event was fair, but your reasoning here seems a little skewed for me.

Traders aren't obligated to accept your offer, and if someone offers something better than what they asked for, there is absolutely nothing wrong with them choosing that.

I don't think there's anything wrong with trading on DC right now. That's all user interaction, user choice, and no one is obligated to withdraw their good offers in order to let someone else get an egg. In the end, both traders are happy, and while it's a shame that your offers aren't accepted, there's nothing unfair about exchanging unwanted eggs. My point is mostly: please don't be bothered by what people offer on trades, or by the fact that a trader accepts an offer other than yours. It's only an offer, after all -- they aren't promising you anything, and in the end I don't think we should be salty over the participants of a successful trade each getting what they want.

Moreover, people who hunt the AP to get multiple Mints are welcome to play the way they want. Yes I'm absolutely jealous of those who have two and I really appreciate those who hold back so that more people have a chance at getting one. However, it's a game, and everyone deserves to play the way they want. We should not shun other people for trying to complete their scroll goals.

Some people on DC have the advantage, this is true, but everyone is welcome to play the way they want and no one is obligated to give up their eggs for anyone else. I don't think trading or "elites" are the problem here whatsoever. Instead, I think the issue is with the way the event was set up. For a once-in-a-lifetime event, the game is incredibly unforgiving.

IMO, what should happened is that everyone who participated in the event had the option of getting one Mint, at the very least a right side up one. I think those who were eaten should have had more than one chance, and those who "won" should have had the option of declining the egg (preferably sending it immediately to the AP). Once you were offered an egg, you could either accept or decline, and after that point the prompt would not appear again.

So everyone would have the option of getting one, and only one, egg, and the eggs of those who declined would be sent to the AP for anyone who wanted the chance to catch a second.

That would have made the event ideal, in my opinion.

Edit: *laughs at own terrible jokes* Buttons for everyone, including the liars, the honest, and the dead.

So I know Shokomon already made lovely badges and nobody can compete with Shokomon's awesome badge mastery, but I made these badges for the cave with an April Fools trick in mind for TJ. Clearly, he went with a funnier and more clever trick, but hey, the badges have been made for months now, might as well offer them for signatures. If anyone is interested?

Blank badge (for those who got eaten?):

I can put a little text on it (April 1st? April Fools? Dragon's Dilemma?) if folks are actually interested?

I'm fully aware of how silly I'm getting, but I'm doing it anyway...

I don't care if my mint turns right-side up when he grows, that's not the reason why I love him after all ;* I don't know why everyone is like "hahaha omg what a prank if they are not upside down when they grow up", they're still April 1st "cave" -born mints! That's pretty sweet and cute I think.

And that doesn't make them any less or more worth anything, it's quite subjective how to feel about these mints.

Waiting the result with curiosity though, mine is now S2(a male!) and still upside down.

The odds always are skewed toward those with fast internet connections - and those who are willing to put in the effort to hunt for rares. Now me - my internet is spotty, sometimes okay and sometimes terribly slow. And I'm not willing to sit around for long stretches of time during low traffic hours on DC (which occur in the middle of the night for me) so there's that too. I've never seen a Gold in the Cave. I've even never seen a CHICKEN in the cave. I think I saw a Silver ONCE. All the rares I have, were given to me or I traded packs of uncommon hatchies or stuff like that. Most of my rares are messy and none of them are caveborn. This is just how it is, since I neither have the fast internet nor the willingness to put in time and effort.

It would have been nice if everyone had gotten what they wanted for April Fools, but I'm not going to feel bad about my mints babies (one of which I got in the game, the other from the AP). We can talk till the cows come home about how things should have been managed differently, but it won't change anything. In the end it was a prank, some people got lucky and some didn't; it might not be fair, but it is what it is.

I don't agree that if it's worth a CB Gold to someone then it's a fair trade not in this case. Frankly I find this April Fools was more of a cruel prank than anything else. The odds are skewed toward a certain group of DC members not everyone has a chance to get the nicer stuff in trades. Let's face it certain people have all the luck from CB prizes which some have two or they often have multiple CB Golds or CB Silvers on a regular basis. My iPad drops me from DC at every hourly drop and the 5 min drops and often multiple times once I get back on, that makes it near impossible for me to catch anything worthwhile, and a lot of us don't have the best connection or speed for it. It also makes the event less fun when you have people who get left out. Don't get me wrong about the Elite they are also some of the most generous people here, but still I don't think this event was anywhere near fair to everyone.

First I never said the Elites were the problem that it was the event that was not fair and I was making a point to an earlier post saying that not everyone is asking for such high demands but when others offer such things it makes it so only those people gets them I don't expect anyone to choose a Copper if someone is offering a Gold and I don't believe anyone is holding back from getting them for the sake of others and of course it is each individuals prerogative to choose what they want to as I do in my trades as well. I don't even collect prizes so it's no sweat off my back and I don't begrudge anyone there luck and yes I can live without n Upside Down one I did get one right side up one and I am well aware this is just a game and this isnt about just me this is about Everyone who misses out. perhaps you misinterpreted what was written and you seemed to pick and choose what to quote from what I wrote and who said anything about shunning people.. And just cause you don't like hearing it doesn't mean it's not true the FACT is this game is skewed towards those with better internet connections and it would be nice if dc kept that in mind when it comes to events.

Is this directed at me? It's hard to say because you mention "picking and choosing from what you wrote" and something about "shunning people"? Since I didn't quote any one person in particular, and never said anything about shunning people, I'm not absolutely sure I should be reacting?

To be clear, my post was not directed at anyone in particular, it was just a statement of my own personal opinion in reaction to multiple other stated opinions.

14 hours until mine grows up. It will not be among the first to grow up, though, so I'm sure this thread will have talk of adult mints before mine grows. I'm excited though!

Oh yeah it's no problem at all if the person is willing to take the risk. As long as both people are well aware of what could happen, trade whatever you'd like for them.

@AngelsSin: I'm having a bit of trouble reading what you mean to say; it's difficult to parse through your sentences due to their length. At no point did I intend to come across as aggressive or argumentative, and I agreed with you that some DC players are at an advantage over others.

Someone froze their upside-down Mint hatchling a few hours ago (which stayed upside-down after the freezing), but as far as I know, no one has reported freezing their right side up Mint hatchling yet. As such, I'd like to be the one that does: I just froze my right side up Mint hatchling and it stayed right side up. A part of me was hoping that it would suddenly become upside-down after the freezing (by way of a neat reverse-psychology kind of surprise, I guess), but alas. *sigh* Oh well, at least we can cross that possibility off the list now. smile.gif

Honestly I think they will all grow up to be regular mints with "Cave" instead of biome.

Hoping for the opposite though tongue.gif

So now I'm still trying to get just one of these babies. *cries*

If the upside-downers grow up and remain inverted, can someone try breeding them? I'm really curious to see if the offspring will end up that way.

I'm about 100% confident they'll breed completely ordinary Mints.

If it was already really sick when you hid it, it could die anyway. I'm sorry that happened. sad.gif

I'm sorry you poor baby died. Was it sick when you hid it? Sometimes fogging doesn't help that. *sighs*

Oh there's going to be lots of breeding!

XZCkr grows up in 8 hours (just like 8 or 9 minutes past cave midnight). Her mate will take another day, though, so other people will likely beat me to breeding!

I'm about 100% confident they'll breed completely ordinary Mints.

My thoughts, too.

That amazes me that a fogged sick baby can still die o_o fogging is the one thing you can do to keep your eggies and hatchlings from dying and it doesn't always work? Wow... just wow. I'm so sorry that happened. Honestly if this wasn't the first April fools day on dragon cave for me to be a part of I would be more willing to give up my little upside down girl to someone less fortunate.
