Posted September 5, 2019 oh no, i'm so sorry to hear about Jessie @DragonSpirit009 😢 hey the tadpoles were important too. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 6, 2019 Good morning everyone! Sadly we had to put Jessie down yesterday. She had liver cancer that was so bad that she would have died within a month. So we decided to put her down because we didn't want her to suffer anymore. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 6, 2019 *hugsforSpirit* She had a happy life with you and was loved. That's all we can really hope for. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 6, 2019 Yeah that's all I hope. I just hope she is in a better place now. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 6, 2019 Oh, no. That's terrible, Spirit. Hang in there, friend. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 6, 2019 *hugs Spirit* It's hard to lose our doggy friends and family. (Cats, too.) Good morning, CPA! *sets out assorted friuts and yoghurt* I'm sleepy this morning. It would probably help if I stopped staying up later than usual. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 6, 2019 We all hope she is in a better place now. When i did not see you online Spirit i expected that something like that had happened, to be honest. Sad that i was right. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 6, 2019 @DragonSpirit009 So sorry to hear about Jessie. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 6, 2019 so sorry to hear this, @DragonSpirit009 and i agree, @Lagie, it's hard to say goodbye to our furry (or winged, finned, or scaled) companions. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 6, 2019 This is NOT for the faint of heart but is the reality for many thousands of people in the Abaco islands and Grand Bahama. I am still missing a friend in Abaco. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 6, 2019 oh no! i'm so sorry to hear that about your friend. hope they're found safe! Share this post Link to post
Posted September 7, 2019 Me, too. The list of names of the missing for the Abacos alone is extensive. I know secondhand cigarette smoke is dangerous. Is secondhand marijuana smoke also? 😮 Share this post Link to post
Posted September 7, 2019 it's really scary. *hugs* oooh, good question. i have no idea? Share this post Link to post
Posted September 7, 2019 Google is my friend. It can impair vascular endothelial function. Which is dangerous. Lovely. I wonder which neighbour is responsible for what's wafting into my home. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 7, 2019 oh that is lovely. not. you seem to have some rude neighbors. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 7, 2019 Well, most of my immediate ones are quite nice, and I'm sure whoever this is probably has no clue where the smoke is wafting (and possibly hasn't even considered that it is!). However, if it's from the other block, next one to the east, those neighbours I do not really know. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 7, 2019 well that's good that you have nice neighbors. out of my street and some of the houses behind me, we really only know one couple. and we've been here for just about 11 years! Share this post Link to post
Posted September 7, 2019 My front door faces onto a green space. Of the eight units that face that space, I know all four in my block and two of the four in the other. We're not close friends but we're friendly. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 7, 2019 nothing wrong with friendly! my front door faces into our street - houses up and down. we're in a development/neighborhood. Share this post Link to post
Posted September 7, 2019 @Lagie It is truly heartbreaking to see the devastation in the Abacos and Grand Bahama and realize the resulting loss of lives. It seems it is always hard to get help to the survivors as quickly as it is needed. Share this post Link to post

It seems it is always hard to get help to the survivors as quickly as it is needed. It's compounded by the fact we are many small islands and cays (pronounced 'key'). And each one has its own settlement of people and animals. One issue they're running into is the lack of airspace for all the people who want to fly in relief aid, and the lack of docks for those with boats. On the plus side, see my Photo Contest post for what we accomplished today! On the double plus side, my missing friend has been found and is in Nassau! Posted September 8, 2019 Yes! That takes one worry off my mind. Her sister lives not too far from me so she's staying there. Needs pretty much everything, of course, including money, clothes, somewhere to live, and a job, but she's alive and safe! Share this post Link to post
