Yeah! It was immediately after I bred my dragon, too. lol! But I have another pair that can produce a 4G mate for the Soulstone. ❤️ Thank you so much for breeding~!

Okay... so I may have gone a bit overboard this year...

I was so angry at myself for not keeping up with my breeding (I had very few new options to choose from, although I bred my old lineages, of course) that I just had to get new breeding stock.

I chose each one carefully and appreciate all the effort that has gone into them.

 *squints at vis haul from this year* I... might start having problems picking up 2G Arsanis from pairings I want next year.

 

But, first, this year! 2G Arsanis first, because ahahahahaha did you think I was going to post about much of anything else? (But I have a surprise for you - scroll down for non-Arsani things, because this year, they exist.) ^_^ I think I managed to leave out the ones I got in trades; these are all from the abandoned page or DC community notice board (and latter only where declared). ❤️

  • Vachama is a 2G Arsani from flamingo. I have a ton of these already, but I also have a lonely 3G since forever that wants a mate, and this pair happens to be unrelated to the truckload of Flamingo pairings I already have, so... thank you very much, Panthereye! :D
  • Sprung Upon is a 2G Arsani from spring. I have higher-gens of this, but noticed that I don't yet have a 2G, and it's my 2G collection I care about the most, so I'm happy I nabbed this! Thank you, anonymous! This one's unrelated to my others. ^_^
  • Aquaeros is a 2G Arsani from aqualis. The colours do go together nicely - ironically, even though I always privately whine a bit about how aqualidae look on the Portal 2 skin (they have bright pink membranes between their fingers and toes; it unfortunately does not look good), they make for a great mate for Arsanis. The pink's doing them a favour here! Thank you, @lunasdaughter, for this pretty.
  • Pulsing Heartlight and Reutha are both 2G Arsani from tercorns. I just want to snuggle them to bits - the softness of the tercorns really fits the Arsani theme! Thank you, anonymous and @encrylic!
  • Flowerwash is a 2G Arsani from waterhorse. I somewhat guiltily must admit I picked this one up mostly for completion's sake - I know a lot of people have done lines with this pairing, but it's not really my favourite. Still, I'm glad I have it in my collection now! And blue/pink is a lovely combo in any case. Thank you for breeding her, @GhostMouse!
  • Chillhearted is a 2G Arsani from ice and in the same category as Flowerwash - lots of people make lines like this and it's really been quite embarrassing from a completionist perspective that I didn't have one of these yet. ^_^; Thanks for helping me fix the oversight, @11th!
  • Affectionate Mauling is a 2G Arsani from kohraki. Really, I am quite astonished how good the kohraki colour scheme meshes with so many dragons! o_o Definitely couldn't resist this lady. Thank you for breeding her, anonymous!
  • Hysterical Love is a 2G Arsani from storm. This is another case where I ended up having higher-gens first, and then I noticed that I should probably get myself a 2G as well. Thank you, anonymous, for helping me fix this!
  • Xenokitty is a 2G Arsani from aeria glori. She was a fairly late catch and I was really delighted to get her, since an Arsani from aeria glori was one of the (many) wishlist items I had for this year, and I'd almost given up on getting it. :) Thank you, anonymous!
  • Gentle Tendrils is a 2G Arsani from purple. This was a longer-standing wishlist item that somehow never really got priority when it came to breeding 2G Arsanis and trading for them, so imagine my surprise when I just picked up this beauty in the AP instead! Thank you, @encrylic! Guess I got offspring from both your CBs this year. I like your style. :D I actually also caught a matching 3G, Violet Lashes (thanks so much, @djengis!), so I can take this up to 4G next year!
  • Just for comparison, other 2G Arsani that I did not find in the AP are these pairings: Blue Fire Gem, Seragamma, Lihnseyre, Terra, Desipis, Monarch, Aeon, enrAegis, liver of sulfur Copper, Aranoa and Gold Tinsel. (The Gold Tinsel one was not at all planned, but instead an AP-caught gift from someone who had accidentally misbred the Arsani they'd promised me. Not gonna complain! Might be a bit difficult to get a mate for, though. XD)

Higher gens:

  • Salted Kiss (how was this name not taken yet, for that matter?) is a 5G Arsani from a blusang lindwyrm checker. Often my trouble with high-gen Arsani catches is that my scroll is in there somewhere (I WONDER WHY), or I already have a significantly higher gen and building it out into a mate for the higher gen would be a pain in the rear, but in this case it worked out beautifully! I can breed Immortal Jealousy to Nididar for a mate. Sweet! Love this pairing. Thank you very much, anonymous!
  • Beloved Memento is a 3G Arsani from a gold wyvern checker. @adrak bred many lovely Arsanis to the AP this year and my only issue was that I didn't have enough scroll space to pick up more. XD Thank you, Adrak! Peaceful Ideals and Vivid Affection are lined up to make a mate for her.
  • The Earth's Embrace is a 3G Arsani from a terrae checker. Another thank you to @adrak for this one! ❤️ I don't have an existing pair to take this up another generation, but I traded for a 2G Arsani from terra, so I will be able to build a mate for this before Valentine 2021!
  • Luminant Bloom is a 3G Arsani from a witchlight checker. Aah! Always have mixed feelings about holiday lines - they're "unpopular" enough that they're rare to get, which makes them desirable to me, but they are so much harder to get up to the higher generations, given there's no way to try for mates outside of the season - forget to breed a mate in the respective other breeding window and you're hosed. x_x But! As long as I don't forget to breed them (and I shouldn't, having doubly-redundant notes about my in-season breedings these days!), Surely Embraced and Vespertian will get this gal a mate! Thank you, @Tehpikachu!
  • Teatime Hugs is another miracle high gen, a 5G Arsani from a black tea checker, mysteriously unrelated to any of mine. XD Romantic Tea-Time and Saccharine Sculpture will contribute to taking this up another generation. Thanks for making this line a little more impressive, anonymous!

  • Misplaced Fantasy is a 3G Arsani from a magma checker. @djengis also bred a bunch of lovely Arsanis to the AP, and this is one of them! Thank you, djengis! I can get her a mate once Social Warrior and Sauteed Soul cooperate.

  • Conjoined Rose is a 3G Arsani from a thalassa xenowyrm checker, also by @djengis. I love thalassae and I love that you gave me an excuse to breed myself another one for more than pure whim. ;) Dangerous Ripples and Zaerqatu will hopefully provide!

  • Fear and Trust is a 3G Arsani from a desipis checker, also by @djengis. I picked this up before I realised I was making my life potentially difficult with it - I bred myself a 2G from desipis this year in anticipation for making a mate for Manipulative Laughter, but now I guess Fear and Trust will be Manipulative Laughter's mate, and my 2G is just going to scratch that 2G itch. XD Either way! Not like anyone can get away with criticising the rawrbooscaryhiss dragons without getting-- what's that, my lords and masters? @_@ Of course I'll make a hoard with you. Most natural urge in the world!

  • Tender Moss is a 3G Arsani from a spotted greenwing checker, who is just waiting for Specks of Love and Icarus' Longing to build a mate for her. I love the way the pastel green contrasts to the eye-popping pink of the Arsanis. Thank you, @Laura-Lana!

  • Secret Citizen is a 3G Arsani from a cirion/blue lunar herald checker. This combo was made for each other, I swear; I'm always delighted to look at it, it just works so well together. And now I can take it up another generation, using my existing pair, Starpath Aru'ak and Azure Sheen! ❤️ Thank you, anonymous!

  • Scripted Relationship is a 3G Arsani from a script checker. This is one I picked up on the DC Community Notice Board ❤️❤️❤️ and love very much. Scripts are some of my all-time favourite dragons on Dragon Cave and they mesh so nicely with Arsanis, too. I'll use Runic Bonds and Fragile Fill to build this lady a mate. Thank you very much for breeding her, @natli!

  • Blank Pleas is a 3G Arsani from an albino checker. Talk about a rare combo! Really happy to see this - and it's unrelated to my pair, too! Transparent Joy and Freundlich Pasquan will be able to cough up a mate for her, hopefully! Thanks so much for breeding her, @bloodonmyfangs!

  • Spectral Sky (is certainly another critter where I'm astounded I got the name and also) is a 3G Arsani from skywing. Skywings were one of my first favourite dragons on the site and I still very much enjoy them, though their bright colours usually make them a less than ideal fit for lineages. But bright cyan and bright pink goes together well (as the chrono xenowyrm x Arsani pairing has taught me). But! Gasp! I don't have a way to build a mate for this yet. I guess I know what 2G I need to acquire next year. *stubborn, maniacal grin* Thank you, anonymous!

  • Reign of Hope is an Arsani pseudo-arc with falconiformes and blacks, courtesy of GaaraLover! I couldn't bring myself to toss this back; it actually scratches my itch for "lineage that looks like it might become something really interesting", which isn't a feeling I often have, but definitely a feeling I yearn for - checkers are lovely but they're very standard at this point? I'd love to see more arcs (lineages like this(-ish)) out there, and this is almost an arc. The fact it's almost an arc actually makes it more exciting. I have no idea what its mate is going to be yet, but I'm looking forward to building it!

And all the other stuff, which this year is more than you might otherwise suspect from lil' ol' me:

  • Sweet Ambush, as the name suggests, is a (2G) sweetling from kohraki. See above for commentary on kohrakis - they look good with everything?! How even. In any case, thank you so much, @Lullakai-Shi!
  • Earthen Entropy is a 3G sweetling from a terrae checker, picked up in the DC Community Notice Board. ❤️❤️ ❤️ This is highly useful to me. I bred myself a 2G sweetling from terra this year (yes, pinkgothic bred verself several non-Arsani to keep, ve's really deteriorating!), so I can now unexpectedly take this up to 4G! Thank you, anonymous, for breeding him!
  • Xenoquill is a 2G radiant angel from aeria glori. What can I say? I really like aeria gloris, so I couldn't toss this back. Thank you, @Imago! ❤️
  • Viral Wings is a 4G radiant angel from a fever checker, unrelated to my pair, Poison Decoration and Monstrously Sweet. I wasn't planning to take this up another generation, but I guess now I am. XD It certainly looks amazing and I so very much don't mind continuing something this gorgeous. Thank you for breeding him, anonymous!
  • Bitter Petal is a 3G rosebud from an almandine pyralspite checker and Bright Milk is a 4G rosebud from an almandine pyralspite checker. As it were, I had bred myself a 2G rosebud from almandine pyralspite this year; I wasn't expecting it to go anywhere, but I seem to be all set all the way up to 5G now. XD Thank you, anonymous and @Tehpikachu, respectively! ❤️ It's such a lovely combo.
  • Silk Tassels is a 2G mutamore from skysilk. I... don't know why I picked up so many 2G mutamores this year (comparatively speaking), but I do have an extreme fondness of their crocofaces. And they look surprisingly nice with so many things. This one, for example. I wouldn't have thought to pair these up, but BlueFlamesJolteon schooled me! Thanks for breeding him!
  • Smouldering Match is a 2G mutamore from luminox. Those muted colours were made for each other! Another combo I never would have thought to try. Thank you, Dharak!
  • Barbtongue and Terroure are both 2G mutamores from spinels. This was a combo I thought of, but haven't gotten around to breeding. Both of these were bred from @Keepiru's scroll, so have a double thanks for these lovely gents, Keepiru! ^_^ Love 'em!
  • Cyanide Bloom is a 3G mutamore from a chrono xenowyrm checker. Another combo I really wanted but oh no! I don't actually have a 2G for this yet. No worries, there's always next year, and I promise you next year is exactly when I'll get that 2G. Muhahahaha. I mean. Thank you, @djengis! You sure have a lot of delightful lineages.
  • Schokotaler is miraculously not related to Tzuckerract and my saltkin Strange Poem? What witchcraft is this? *squints* Oh, it's you, @Ruby Eyes! That explains the high quality witchcraft, then. XD Thanks so much! I actually don't usually collect Heartseekers but I really love this boy.
  • Qidravem is a 2G heartseeker from kohraki and-- FFS, I sure have a lot of kohraki breeding plans lined up. I did see the gorgeous Heartseeker from white kohraki someone linked to, and I already thought that was nice, but even the standard colouration is just good. What is it with kohrakis? Witchcraft. Witchcraft, I say. They just look really good on Portal 2, period. Thank you, @Justie, for breeding him!

Whew! That's my haul this year. I can't bring myself not to thank all you lovely breeders for making it a blast, but I really need to catch fewer draggos if I actually want to spend less than an hour typing up my gushing thanks. XD❤️ Thank you, everyone, for contributing to the varied AP!

4g Hellfire from RA- I caught this last night; thank you, breeder! Somehow it's unrelated to all of mine; she'll be mated with this, and with a little luck, it looks like I could very well get this line to 6g.

3g Royal Blue x GW Thuwed Checker- From the post-holiday wall, and it precogged correctly. Thank you, 5Five5! Maybe I'll breed her with this

 

And thanks to the people who drop CBs in the AP, especially whoever dropped a CB Ice right when Valentine's breeding started.

Glad you like both! It's always nice to see offspring from my dragons being kept by people. (And quite yes, racehorses provide a nice variety of names for my scroll).
