I'll start by answering and asking some questions.

Odd numbers of pages are day. Even are night.

Which two wolves are at guard?

Which two wolves are hunting?

what season is it?

Since Fell isn't in Blizzard,, I'm going to go ahead and be a hypocrite......

Fell's tounge lolled out the side of her mouth as she loped out of the tree line and into a bare patch on the side of the gentle slope of a mountin. She knew not where she was in the Alaskan wilderness nor did she care. It was an unusually late night for the rogue. Usually she would be bunked down in an hollow embankment along a stream or a tangled of roots exposed by the elements. Tonight was different. After her successful hunt and hardy dinner of white rabbit, she cauht a strange second wind that told her to keep going. It seemed she thought the grass was greener.

Her pace did not slow as she ran on, tirelessly and seemingly without purpose. She skirted around a bend in the lind of trees and followed it down the slope. Without warning, A scent hit her nose that made her slow and drop her head. Up ahead, carried by a gentle breeze, was the scent of a pack's marking.She was getting into the territory of another pack? Way out here? Her perky demeanor was gone. Now Fell had her head dropped below her shoulder and her tail still and brushing the scrubgrass. She continued on at a slow trot, the scent of the other pack grew stronger as she was immersed in it.

It's late Winter.

Peregrine growled to let out a warning to her pack. Her fangs were bared as she snarled, but she really didn't think much of it.

It's just one wolf, up against a pack.

She dropped her head down low and opened her mouth, taking in its scent. It was a young female, more curious than aggressive.

Eclipse was quick to to Peregrine's side as she growled out a warning, but quickly dismissed the threat as he took in the scent of the curious young female. He shook his head, one female wolf would hardly be worth the effort to chase off or injure. Well, since he was already up and about, might as well make his rounds. Dipping his head and tail in respect to Peregrine, Eclipse turned and started his round to protect the pack. He would often scuffle with a lone wolf every now and then, but they learned quickly due to his bulky size that it was a mistake to mess with him. However, the new wolf could be distracting his alpha while her pack, if she did have a pack, could be coming in from behind. He new it seed ridiculous, but one could never be too careful.

Lunar sniffed the air as she tracked a rabbit. There was a new scent in the air, one of a curious nature. She rolled her shoulders, not really caring one way or the other about the scent of the new female. She wasn't a guard, she was a hunter. Not her place to chase off the intruder. Eclipse would most likely have gone to the alpha's side before dismissing the threat. Her brother seemed to love the scuffles with rogue males that would come to close, he was probably patrolling the area now just in case this female was a front runner to distract them. She paused and scratched hbehind her ear before continuing to hunt for this rabbit.

Peregrine gave her nod of approval to Eclipse. She knew he must want to look further into situation.

"If there are more, come back immediately. If not... you can make the decision of what to do." She nodded in respect for him. She had thought several times about making him beta, but she knew that the pack would protest. Hunter was a higher rank then guard, and they would want one of them to have the position.

Dawn slipped up silently beside her alpha hearing the tale end of what she said to eclipse. "May I check on my sister and stay there? This loner is heading in the direction of her den. I want to make sure she is safe" She asked.

Dusk dragged a young elk to the pack by the leg. Tiny budding, fuzzy nubs poked from his head, it's hoof was cracked and a ankle twisted. The injury made this one easy to get, although it had taken him a day to finally finish the poor thing's suffering. Hungry as he was, he didn't take a bite yet, refusing to eat until alpha has eaten and Silver had her fill as well. Her pups were due soon, and she needs the strength. A unfamiliar female scent ticked his nose making him pause. He growls lowly, sniffing again, smelling that the guards were already on it. Snorting in approval of their speedy response he continued to drag his kill till he reached the pack center and sat standing guard over the kill until alpha has taken the first bite.

Peregrine nodded to Dawn and dipped her head to Dusk.

"You have filled the bellies of our pack. There could be no better honor."

She then turned to the leaving Dawn.

"Tell your sister of the prey we share."

"Noon, Midnight, it's your guard." She then sat in await of the new wolf.

Dawn dropped her head low in thanks. "I will inform her. Thank you alpha. " she then slipped away to the den where her sister was currently sleeping. "Silver.. Silver.." she nudged her and the mother wolf stirred. "What is it dawn?" Came a sleepy voice. "Dusk brought back a elk. Come, you can eat your fill. "

Dawn helped her sister up and walked with her as she slowly waddled to the elk, sitting down by her brother who started to groom her ear.

"It is a honor to hear such praises from you Alpha." Dusk had responded to Peregrine then waited for his two sisters, grooming one of them lovingly much to her annoyance.

I have a list of wolves that I might want as beta:

Eclipse

Dusk

That's it for now, but I don't know much about the other wolves yet.

"Yes Alpha," Eclipse rumbled in approval at her words. He really wanted to be a beta, but no one in the pack would approve of the decision since he was not a hunter. As he trotted along his normal route, he thought about his position. As much as he wanted to be a beta, he'd rather much be a guard than hunter. His sister was a skilled tracker and had the patience he never had while stalking his prey. His long white and black tail streaked out behind him as he ran. If there was a threat, he would make sure the pack was ready. He was always ready for a good fight and he bared his teeth just thinking about it.

~~~~~~~~
Lunar watched as the rabbit she was tracking suddenly peek out of its hole. Patience was key. She lowered herself to the ground, waiting ever so patiently before pouncing. The rabbit ran, knowing it wouldn't make it to its hole in time, with Lunar right on its haunches. She headbutted the rabbit, making it stumble, before snapping at its throat. Easy kill. Picking up the rabbit, she made her way back into the back and felt rather foolish at her catch compared to the elk Dusk had brought back. But, a catch is a catch and she laid it next to the elk Dusk brought.
"It's no elk, but it'll help feed the back a bit futher," Lunar said, before looking around. Not to her surprise, Eclipse wasn't around. He'll most likely go hungry this time if she didn't save him a few scraps.
Peregrine sat with a full belly and a full head of thoughts. She could make eclipse a Hunter, but wouldn't do much good. She decided to call a meeting to the pack. She stood in her cave and howled, to call to the pack's attention.
Moon-Moon waas hanginging out on the edge of the pack's clearing. He had his head tilted back and was staring up at the stars. He was unaware of the hunt that arrived, the intruder to the south, or the howl of his alpha. He was lost in his own mind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fell slowwed to a stop when a howl, backed by the power of a pack, cut through the night air. They knew she was here, not that that surprised her. Any alpha worth her stuff wouldn't let a rogue enter his territory without knowing. She kept her head low when she could feel that the guards were coming for her. He tensed up for anything.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The scent of blood and the grumble of his stomach made Moon-Moon look to the center of the pack where the other members were gathering. Food? he though as he padded over the the carcass of the elk to grab some food for himself.
Noon yawned, raising his head to the sky as he took in the shadows cast across the camp's grounds. The wolf was well aware that Peregrine had called him to guard, but, well ...
To say the wolf was hoping his brother, Midnight, would appear and take the workforce for himself was an understatement. Noon was all but beginning the other to; he had just settled down for sleep and was having the most wondrous of dreams. Ah, how pitiful. He dipped his head in approval to his Alpha, graceful and sleek and a slight bit teasing at all the same time, and headed to position.
---
Attracted by the howl of Peregrine, Étoile woke from soft dreams. She stretched, her fur fluffed up from the cold night's winds, and the she-wolf looked around curiously at the status of her packmates, gathering data and hoping for their wellbeings before the pale white wolf made her way to the Alpha.
She flicked her ears back as a sign of respect, and nodded her head. Settling down to hear what their Alpha had to say, she flicked her tail over the ground curiously.
"Perhaps it is the song in the winds," she murmured, more to herself than anything. "There must be fortune incoming." Her stomach growled to remind her she hadn't eaten, and the young wolf made a quick mental reminder to do so once the meeting was finished.
Peregrine flicked her tail at the assemblage of her pack. And then, she heard words coming from someone's mouth. Was it hers? It seemed to be.
"You have your beta."
Perking his ears on his rounds, Eclipse looked over as he heard the howl from his alpha. Looks like his patrol would have to finish. Then again, he didn't smell anything out of the ordinary. Relaxing, he turned and ran back to met the rest of his pack. By the time he mad with back to sit down next to his sister, he was panting, tongue sticking out. "Need some food?" Lunar asked, pointing with her head to the rabbit. "You can have some after the meeting." Eclipse nodded his head before looking over at Peregrine. Both of them looked surprised at the alpha as the word beta came from her mouth. Both looked surprised at each other before looking back up. Who was the new beta?
Dusk snapped at moon moon until his sister's ate their fill and ate his portion before joining the others with the alpha. His ears lowered when eclipse was called forward. A guard a beta? He snorted. Beta's where enforcers. A guard who chased away loners all the time would do good enforcing alpha's law.
Silver lay on the snow and was in between dawn and dusk
Lunar's jaw dropped as she swiveled her head to look at her brother who seemed rather pleased as he stood tall, padding up to Peregrine and bowing his head in respect. "It's an honor that you would choose me," Eclipse said in awe. He was excited that he was now a beta, the others would most likely resent the fact the a guard would be chosen as a beta, but Eclipse didn't care. Peregrine was the one wolf that he didn't dare challenge. She allowed him and his sister to enter the pack around a year ago.
His size made him a guard rather quickly and Lunar due to he patience made a great killer. Lunar started to grow nervous, what would the others do? Would they try to challenge Eclipse? How many wolves could Eclipse handle if they chose to attack?
Peregrine held her head high to sweep her gaze across the crowd. Murmurs were passed back and froth and teeth were slightly bared. They was annoyance in the crowds faces. Peregrine waited for the first challenge.
Moon-Moon yelped and ran in a tight circle and dropped his chest. He looked at Dusk, the cosest thing to a smile pread across his muzzle. It didn't frighten him but he did know not to cause trouble for the other woves so he sat back and waited for the sibling to finish. Packs had too many rules and Moon-Moon didn't quite uderstand how they all fit together. Moon-Moon saw everyone in the pack more like family members than a organized hierarchy. Everyone 'cept Peregrine, she was Mom.
Something caught the young wolf's attention and he started to pad away, nose to the ground, following something interesting. He stopped suddenly Mom's talking! Focus Moon-Moon st down apruptly and zeroed in on Peregrine. SOmething was happening! Something that had to do with Dusk he guessed. He didn't know what, but it sure seemed important.
Étoile padded up to Eclipse, the younger wolf a slim shadow in contrast to the former Guard's large bulk. She drew back, dipping low as a sign of respect. "It's certainly strange," the she-wolf said, though not unkindly, "for a Guard to take Beta. Congratulations." She switched her gaze to Lunar, holding her fellow Hunter's gaze for a few seconds. "And you must be very proud."
With that said, the small white wolf withdrew from the rest of the pack, beginning to head towards the wilderness. The day was beginning soon, and it would be a good idea to find some prey before the sun rose. As she walked, Étoile lowered her head as a sign of greeting to Dusk, Dawn, and Silver, watching the three siblings sitting comfortably together. It seemed most of the pack was beginning to stir to life, with Moon-Moon being the most energetic of all.
--
Noon simply flicked his tail across the air, a small, short sign of annoyance. A Beta so soon, and a Guard at that?
His ears flattened against his head. This would never have happened in their old pack, but he supposed there was no way back now. The sandy-brown wolf turned away, back to watching the outer realms for any signs of disrupt. He sniffed the air; there was a strange scent in the air, almost ... of an unknown wolf?
Curious, Noon began to track the scent. He wouldn't go far, just enough to clear his head, figure out the scent, and forget this strange turn of events.
Midnight let a soft growl rise in his throat. The pack needed a new Beta, that much was true, but what was Peregrine thinking? One couldn't just go around promoting the first wolf they laid eyes on! What reason was there to promote Eclipse instead of one of the Hunters? Surely, they would be better suited to such an important task. Truly, this had to be the beginning of the end of the pack. Weak leadership led to the entire pack being weakened, and that would lead to the death of them all.
He lowered his head, flattened his ears, and struggled to keep his teeth concealed. Without so much as a congratulations, he turned from the scene and stalked away. Perhaps he could find his brother. Soon he found him, appearing to be following a scent. Not hearing or seeing anything too close, he bounded to catch up. "Finding something? Honestly, can you believe Peregrine? We'll all fall with this decision; she's dragging us all down into the abyss with her."
