Haha, nice to see all the PacRim fans were on to something with the Fells. xP

I have to say, part of the reason I love the fell so much is because their concept is like exactly what I was picturing with my old Demolition Dragons (which is a terrible name; Fell is much cooler), and the art is much cooler than anything I was trying to describe. (And yes, I know these have nothing to do with my Demolitions!) I'm totally fine with the fact my Demolitions are gone (as much as I loved them and still appreciate the work that went into the art <3 ) because I have these wonderful dragons to drool over instead. =D (It's also kind of funny to see people say the Fell look too much like dinos when that was the issue with my Demolitions and these are way less dino-y. xP )

Beautiful work, Odeen! Big scary dragons are a ton of fun, until you actually meet one.

OMG they have four eyes?? Even more love than before.

And TBH to me the Fells don't look very dragony OR dino-y, more just like huge rampaging monsters. But I'm just fine with enormous brutish beasts, so I like them anyway. biggrin.gif I also adore the details about their mana-powered guts, fell pits, and Calamities. Just a really, really cool creation, whether you call it dragon, monster, kaiju or whatever.

Given the quality of what the "old blood" produces, I wouldn't complain.

I think what Condorflight meant is that it's nice to see new spriters join the ranks as each one brings their own unique style to the cave with their art. We adore the current "old blood" just as much as we enjoy seeing new styles make it into the cave smile.gif

I have an odd feeling that fell dragons will be user-caught into rarity because of how awesome they are.

So fell dragons where dragon-y enough but glasswyrms where not?

on another note, i'm totally okay with fells becoming rares, we NEED some new rares!

My first batch hatched, so with new eggs I finally have a pair of each. Now to wait... biggrin.gif

+ohh and wait, I just realized that the Honey Drakes are looking at each other, like how the Silvers used to! I'm probably pretty late to the realization squad but yay, it's very nice to see. C:

Well, my dragons weren't cooperative enough to breed stripes or avatars right away like past new releases were. Oh well.

Congrats again to spriters on this new release.

.... =X

I don't have anything to elaborate on about the Honey Drake concept, actually. You see...the honey drake was recycled.

Back in 2014, I was having second thoughts about the Gemshards, so I redid the sprites from scratch and added a fourth possible color (citrine). The original Gemshard sprites ended up being favored for release, so shelved the revamped versions as experience points. I really, really liked the citrine variant, though, and decided about a year later that I would dust it off and make the necessary edits to turn it into something usable.

I gave it wings and edited out the more Gemshard-esque features, deciding that they might make rather interesting eastern-inspired drakes. The concept of them as honey thieves was based almost entirely on their color. They almost became Amber drakes instead!

About the breed, I can say that when I call them small, I see them quite squarely on the small end of drake species. They feed almost exclusively on nectar and honey, and serve as highly effective pollinators since they can travel a fair bit farther in a short time than any insect.

Oh...

That's very interesting to hear! Citrine Gemshards...

I have a question. How do Honey Drakes get along with themselves and other drakes?

Are they very social, or do they tend to only socialize amongst themselves? Or not at all?

I always imagined honey drakes to behave a bit like feral cat communities, where they go out foraging on their own but passively gather to enjoy the benefits of mutual grooming and play. They're very shy with other species, though, so they would probably vanish into the trees like squirrels at the first sign of trouble.

Thank you so much for the extra info, Odeen!!

The Fells are absolutely amazing. And two pairs of eyes, omg!! I love that their stomach acid affects the surrounding earth so much even after it's died, that is so cool. I need to get more of these ferocious beasts!

Also, I got my first adults, and I loooove them!
