Here's this week's story, by the wonderful Aurae:

With the lengthening days comes longer to egg-hunt and you are weary as you wander home. Despite this you take the longer route, around the edge of the village, enjoying the fresh green foliage and spring flowers illuminated by the golden glow of the setting sun. Occasionally you catch a glimpse of young honey drakes and spring seasonal hatchlings playing in and around the trees. It seems everywhere you look the world is waking up from the long winter.

 

Sadly, this also means more competition for eggs and your long day of searching has yielded a solitary egg. Solitary, but unusual. You have never seen an egg with such markings before. Still, the thought of all the beautiful eggs Aurelia showed you a few days before nags at the edge of your consciousness. You do not, however, dare to hope that you might have won one.

 

Soon you arrive at the gate of your own back garden and trudge into the house, carefully setting down your new egg before closing the door behind you. Heading further inside you reach up to hang up your coat, but as you do so you think you see a flash of something gold in the front garden. Dropping it on the floor, you rush to open the front door. There on your doorstep, nestled in a basket filled with flowers, is a gold-wrapped egg.
